Jeremy Maclin (torn ACL, injured reserve) underwent successful surgery on Tuesday.

Maclin's surgery comes 10 days after he went down, and seven years after he first tore his right ACL, back at Missouri. Maclin has youth (he's just 25) on his side, but things can get tricky once a player tears the same ACL twice. The good news for the walk-year wideout is he could already be approaching 100 percent by the time free agency kicks off next March.

Wendell Smallwood (knee) is expected to be limited in Thursday's practice.

Smallwood also got in some practice reps on Tuesday. He appears on track to return Monday night after sitting out two games, but it is not a given. For what it is worth, Smallwood expects to play.

The Tampa Bay Times' Greg Auman reports Jameis Winston "did everything but throw" during Wednesday's practice.

He is expected to throw later in the week and appears on track to play considering the Bucs did not add a quarterback on Wednesday. "Draw your own conclusions," coach Dirk Koetter said after practice. Winston has said he plans to play.

Broncos coach Vance Joseph said Jamaal Charles will "get more and more touches."

"That’s always the plan with Jamaal as we go forward in the season," Joseph added. His workload has actually gone the other way recently, with Charles recording just six touches in each of the last two games, and the Broncos have not really shown any sign of increasing his snap share. Perhaps that will change, but for now he is just a bench stash.

The Dallas Morning News' David Moore reports Ezekiel Elliott and the NFL have "discussed the possibility of a settlement."

Moore reports there have been talks behind the scenes about a settlement in the past, but neither side was serious about negotiating. That changed when Judge Paul Crotty issued just a temporary restraining order earlier this week, adding even more uncertainty to an already uncertain situation. If the two sides do not come to an agreement, Judge Katherine Failla will decide on a preliminary injunction within the next couple weeks.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel believes the Packers need to commit to Aaron Jones as their lead back.

With Aaron Rodgers potentially out for the year, the Packers are expected to be more run heavy behind Brett Hundley. Jones rotated with Ty Montgomery last week, but continued to outplay him. Montgomery is averaging 3.2 YPC with one run over 10 yards. He's also struggled on first downs, with three negative and six zero-yard rushes. The Packers need to start Jones and ride him to keep pressure off Hundley and the pass game. It's possible Jones takes over the backfield in Week 7 against the Saints.

The Indianapolis Star's Zak Keefer conceded Wednesday he "wouldn't be surprised" if Andrew Luck (shoulder) missed the entire season.

Keefer's Indy Star colleague, Stephen Holder, also suggested Luck is no lock to play again this year following the setback in his surgically repaired shoulder. To put it frankly, the Colts lied to their fanbase. Owner Jim Irsay stated as late as the final week of preseason that Luck had a chance to play in Week 1, and the Colts activated Luck from the PUP list in what was perceived as a sign he would play inside the first seven weeks. None of those things happened, and the team is now claiming a setback. Luck should have been dropped in re-draft leagues long ago. At this point, we expect Jacoby Brissett to be the Colts' rest-of-season starter.
Oct 18 - 7:18 PM

Chris Hogan (ribs) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Hogan got shaken up on a hit from Marcus Maye in the first half Sunday against the Jets, but still played 63-of-68 offensive snaps. He'll be fine for Sunday night's Super Bowl rematch against Atlanta, even if his practice reps are limited. Last week ended Hogan's touchdown streak at four games.
Oct 18 - 5:09 PM

Marcus Mariota (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday.

The Titans only had a light workout, but it sounds like Mariota should practice fully all week. He continues to trend up after escaping Monday night's win without a setback. Mariota should have more mobility against the Browns, giving him a higher ceiling for Week 7.
Oct 18 - 4:22 PM

DeMarco Murray (hamstring) didn't practice on Wednesday.

Murray was a spectator Wednesday after being plagued by hamstring tightness on MNF. Most signs point to Murray suiting up, though the Titans can probably beat the winless Browns without his assistance. Coming off a career-high 131 rushing yards on Monday night, Derrick Henry is the better fantasy bet this week.
Oct 18 - 4:15 PM

Colts GM Chris Ballard said Andrew Luck has experienced soreness in his surgically-repaired right (throwing) shoulder and will not practice this week.

This qualifies as a significant setback, no matter how the Colts try and spin it. Luck practiced the past two weeks and appeared to be knocking on the door of playing sometime soon. He's now again out indefinitely, leaving Jacoby Brissett the starter for the next few weeks and further dropping the floors of T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief. The Colts' bye week comes Week 11.
Oct 18 - 4:03 PM

Robby Anderson (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Anderson went down late in the fourth quarter on a deep-ball chuck from Josh McCown. Prior to that, Anderson caught 4-of-12 targets for 76 yards against New England. If Anderson sits, it'll be Jermaine Kearse, Jeremy Kerley, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and Matt Forte catching the balls against Miami.
