In his first game action since tearing his ACL in the 2012 playoffs, Robert Griffin III completed 30-of-49 passes for 329 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in Monday night's Week 1, 33-27 loss to the Eagles.
RGIII added 24 yards rushing on five attempts. Griffin was awfully rusty for much of the night, throwing plenty of passes wide, high and behind his receivers. It was to be expected. RGIII looked to be a bit tentative with many of his throws, tossing balls off his back foot as he failed to step into throws. He faced a ton of pressure, getting sacked three times and taking a handful of hits against an aggressive Philadelphia defense. The Washington offense didn't get going until midway through the third quarter. The Eagles jumped out to a 33-7 lead before the Redskins came back with 19 unanswered points. Griffin got into a groove with short, quick-hitting passes, but it was too little, too late. The Redskins will travel to Green Bay next week.
