Giants signed RB Brandon Jacobs.

The news will have David Wilson owners shaking in their boots, but the simple truth is, Jacobs is lucky to be back on an NFL roster. Jacobs looked done in San Francisco last season, is on the wrong side of 30 and averaged just 3.8 yards per carry in 2011. He's being added to provide a stabilizing presence more than anything else. Provided he's active for Sunday's game against the Broncos, he should be No. 3 on the depth chart behind Wilson and Da'Rel Scott. It's hard to see Jacobs coming into fantasy value.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien reiterated Friday that he expects Arian Foster (groin, questionable) to play Sunday against Tennessee.

Foster's fantasy owners should be doing cartwheels right now because the Titans have arguably the leakiest run defense in the league. Foster participated in practice on some level every day this week, and the Texans' medical staff wouldn't be letting him back in the fold if he weren't close to full strength. He'll be a top-shelf RB1 in this cupcake matchup.

Julius Thomas (ankle) missed his third straight practice Friday.

Thomas appeared on the side of Friday's practice, but did not participate. He may officially be considered a game-time decision against the Chiefs, but we suspect Thomas will not play. With Julius out for Week 12, Jacob Tamme didn't even play 50 percent of Denver's offensive snaps. Demaryius Thomas took over as the red-zone dominator and scored three touchdowns.

Jerick McKinnon (back) said Friday he will not play in Week 13.

It's a major missed opportunity for McKinnon against a porous run defense. The Vikings will turn to some combination of Joe Banyard, Matt Asiata, and perhaps Ben Tate against the Panthers. Tate didn't play a snap last week, while Banyard played 30 and was effective on limited touches. Asiata is due back from his concussion and is the odds-on favorite to lead this backfield in playing time.

Falcons coach Mike Smith said Friday he is "confident" Roddy White (ankle, questionable) will play Sunday against the Cardinals despite missing every practice session this week.

It does look like White will be out there against the Cardinals, but in the past Roddy has cautioned against starting him in fantasy leagues when he's unable to practice. "He did work with our (athletic performance) people today and got good reports on where he was in terms of moving around," said Smith. "I feel confident, still, that he'll play on Sunday." Fantasy owners have a tough decision to make. The matchup won't be easy for White against red-hot LCB Patrick Peterson, and especially not if Roddy is short of full health.

Coach Rex Ryan said Friday he "anticipates" Geno Smith starting at quarterback for the Jets' final five games.

Asked whose decision it was to start Geno, Rex replied, "It's a Jets decision." It was obviously Jets GM John Idzik's decision, as he wants to get more evaluation time on Geno after drafting him in last year's second round. Per beat reporter Manish Mehta, Ryan, OC Marty Mornhinweg, and QBs coach David Lee all believe Michael Vick would give New York a better chance to win.

Jordan Cameron (concussion) is listed as questionable for Week 13 at Buffalo.

Cameron was limited in practice all week. He may have to clear one more hurdle in the NFL's concussion protocol to receive clearance to face Buffalo. If Cameron does play, we wouldn't expect there to be any limitations on his snap count after he missed the previous three games. Despite a disappointing 2014 season, Cameron will reemerge as a fantasy TE1 when he gets the green light.

John Middlekauff of 957 The Game Bay Area reports Latavius Murray (concussion) is "not likely" to play in Week 13 against the Rams.

There was early-week optimism on Murray based on the fact that his concussion happened two Thursday nights ago, but he still hasn't been cleared to play in football games. It's obviously a disappointing development after Murray ran wild on the Chiefs on just four carries in Week 12. The Raiders will turn to an RBBC of Darren McFadden, Marcel Reece, and Maurice Jones-Drew at St. Louis.
Nov 28 - 1:05 PM

Dwayne Allen (ankle) remained sidelined at Friday's practice and has been ruled out for Week 13.

Coby Fleener will play the vast majority of the snaps against Washington, with Jack Doyle serving as the blocking tight end. Despite last week's clunker, Fleener is squarely in the mix as an upside TE1. Allen has now missed two games. It's worth wondering if he indeed has a high ankle sprain.
Nov 28 - 12:40 PM

Roddy White (ankle) is questionable for Week 13 against the Cardinals.

White played his normal complement of snaps last week but hasn't practiced at all this week. On Friday, he was on the field without his helmet and limited to stretching and individual drills. White was already set for a tough matchup against Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie. He's more of a WR3 than WR2.
Nov 28 - 12:13 PM

Larry Fitzgerald (knee) said he's "highly likely" to play Week 13 against the Falcons.

Fitzgerald sat out the Week 12 loss to the Seahawks and has yet to practice this week on his sprained MCL, typically a 2-4 week injury. He worked out on the side at Thursday's practice, and said he was "optimistic" about his chances of suiting up Sunday. We'd like to see him practice Friday.
Nov 28 - 9:05 AM

Colin Kaepernick completed 16-of-29 passes for 121 yards and two interceptions in the 49ers' Thanksgiving night loss to the Seahawks.

The numbers were actually worse than that, as Kaepernick had just 90 yards passing before a meaningless final drive. It was a dreadful performance for Kaepernick. He was too quick to abandon the pocket and missed badly on several throws. The worst throw of the night was Kaepernick's first interception, which instead of hitting an open Brandon Lloyd on the back shoulder Kaepernick threw up the field into the waiting arms of Richard Sherman. Kaepernick has not scored multiple touchdowns in a game since Week 6 and has not surpassed 15 fantasy points in any game over that span. He will not be a viable QB1 even in a good matchup Week 14 against the Raiders.
