The Giants announced Sunday that FB Henry Hynoski fractured his shoulder in Week 3 against the Panthers.

Adding injury to insult after their 38-0 loss Sunday. The Giants have a capable backup lead blocker in TE Bear Pascoe, but Hynoski's loss won't help David Wilson's chances of turning his season around. In terms of sheer lane-clearing ability, the "Hynocerous" is a top-five lead blocker in the league.

NBC's Alex Flanagan tweeted Saturday that she's been talking to "more and more people" who believe rumors of Philip Rivers being traded by the Chargers "have legitimate legs."

As Flanagan noted, the Titans "need Rivers," in order for beleaguered GM Ruston Webster and coach Ken Whisenhunt to save their jobs. The Chargers would be a good fit for Marcus Mariota, going to a coach in Mike McCoy who's repeatedly shown the ability to craft his offense to maximize his quarterback's strengths. Any deal of Rivers to Tennessee would likely require a long-term agreement between the team and Rivers. The Titans would have to have that assurance from Rivers' camp before executing the trade. Rivers is entering the final year of his contract.

"Several executives" told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel they've either removed Boise State RB Jay Ajayi from their draft boards or "backed way off" because of how their medical staffs evaluated Ajayi's knee.

Ajayi tore his ACL in 2011, and it's feared he may need microfracture surgery down the line. "I just don't know if he'll hold up physically," one scout said. "He's had a lot of carries." Since tearing the ACL, of course, Ajayi dominated college football and showed big-time NFL-caliber tools. The concern continues to be with Ajayi's longevity, at a position where longevity isn't the expectation.

Eagles rescinded their RFA tender to RB Chris Polk.

He becomes an unrestricted free agent. With DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews ahead of him, Polk wasn't worth his $1.54 million tender. Polk, 25, is a plodding short-yardage specialist with some special teams skills.

NJ.com's Mark Eckel passes along a "rumor making its rounds in NFL personnel meetings" of the Eagles trading Sam Bradford to the Browns for the No. 19 overall pick in the draft.

The Browns already offered No. 19 to the Rams for Bradford, prior to his trade to Philadelphia. St. Louis didn't accept because it wanted a quarterback, and wound up acquiring Nick Foles. The Browns are "still said to have interest" in Bradford. Per Eckel, the rumor has the Eagles then sending Nos. 19 and 20 -- plus Mychal Kendricks and Fletcher Cox -- to the Titans in exchange for No. 2 overall, where Philly would select Marcus Mariota. Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported Friday that Bradford currently believes the Eagles may be planning to trade him.

Titans signed WR Hakeem Nicks, formerly of the Colts.

The NFL's version of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Titans love old, run-down, has-beens. Add Nicks to a pile that already included Harry Douglas, Anthony Fasano, Kam Wimbley, and Shonn Greene. Nicks tried to rehab his value in Indianapolis with the game's best young passer last season and still did little, struggling to a 38-405-4 line before seeing his snaps cut in favor of Donte Moncrief. Nicks is just 27, but plays like he's 37. Even for disappointing Justin Hunter, Nicks is unlikely to provide serious competition.

The Florida Times Union's Ryan O'Halloran believes Justin Blackmon is "done-zo" with the Jaguars.

O'Halloran made the comment in a chat, so he was merely speaking his opinion. The Jaguars' higher-ups have backed Blackmon to a certain degree and said nice things about the former No. 5 overall pick, but by the way the team has approached free agency and the draft over the past year, they appear set to move on. O'Halloran believes Amari Cooper will be in play at No. 3 overall.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports both the Chargers and Eagles are "exploring the possibility" of trading up for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota "through the Browns."

The Browns have two first-rounders, ammunition needed for the Chargers or Eagles to leapfrog into the top-two picks. (The Browns are also believed to be interested in Mariota, complicating matters.) A league source confirmed to Pauline that the Browns "hold the most powerful position in the draft," and "the ability to dictate" whether any team can pull off a trade up for Mariota.

Larry Fitzgerald said it's "not possible" for him to put up big statistics in the Cardinals' scheme.

"And it’s only that reason, because of the role that I play. It’s a different role," Fitzgerald said. "I just don’t have the opportunities down the field. I’m more inside, I move the chains a lot more." We'd have an easier time buying this if Hines Ward and Reggie Wayne didn't fill up the box score while playing the same blocking/possession receiver role in Bruce Arians' scheme. Even with Carson Palmer (knee) returning, Fitzgerald is a very shaky fantasy bet. He hasn't gone over 1,000 yards since 2011.

Citing sources from five teams, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports Georgia RB Todd Gurley (ACL surgery) has a "great shot" to be ready for Week 1.

Breer reports this feeling was "unanimous" amongst the sources with whom he spoke. Gurley's medicals from the Combine recheck reportedly "indicate he'll be back at some point during camp," and "things are on schedule." Gurley has suddenly begun to appear within the top-ten picks of national media mock drafts.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk the Eagles have engaged in "no meaningful talks" regarding Sam Bradford's contract.

Bradford, of course, is entering a contract year. At very least, it suggests the Eagles want to keep their options open at quarterback. ESPN's Adam Schefter and CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora have both recently stated they believe the Eagles remain in the hunt for Marcus Mariota. A source told PFT that Bradford would be unwilling to do an extension with a team other than Philadelphia, were he used as a trade chip. He is willing to sign long term with the Eagles.
Apr 22 - 10:36 PM

Dolphins signed WR Greg Jennings to a two-year, $8 million contract.

Jennings gives Miami a veteran presence behind Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills. He has strong ties to HC Joe Philbin, who spent six years with Jennings in Green Bay. Jennings has been in major decline the last three seasons and turns 32 in September. The Dolphins will likely use Jennings on the outside in three-wide sets, with Jarvis Landry remaining in the slot. Jennings should be a candidate for 45-55 catches on the Dolphins, but is unlikely to reemerge as a significant fantasy contributor.
