Andre Johnson (shin) is active and will start Sunday's Week 4 game versus Seattle.

As expected. Johnson said he was at about 80 percent on Friday, but he's toughing through the lower-leg injury and will give it a go against Richard Sherman, Brandon Browner, and the Legion of Boom. Johnson is more WR2 than WR1 this week, but he's a must-start because he sees so many targets.

Speaking in a Thursday radio interview, Seahawks GM John Schneider downplayed the chances of Richard Sherman getting traded.

"Right now, I don't think the odds are very good," Schneider said. "But if somebody comes cruising along and something happens, and we do something, it happens." Schneider is correct that a trade remains unlikely, but it's remarkable how openly the Seahawks continue to talk about dealing their star corner. We wouldn't rule anything out ahead of next week's draft.

The Super Bowl champion Patriots will host the Chiefs in the 2017 season's opening game on Thursday Sept. 7.

It's a matchup of two great teams, but lacks the punch of last year's Super Bowl rematch between the Broncos and Panthers. Speaking of Super Bowl rematches, the Patriots will host the Falcons in Week 7. That game will be played on Sunday Night Football. It's 141 days until we kick off the season with Alex Smith in primetime.

Tyler Lockett (broken leg) believes he'll be ready for training camp.

It's an extremely aggressive timeline for Lockett's devastating Christmas Eve injury. Coach Pete Carroll has previously identified Week 1 as the goal. Even if Lockett is ready for camp, he could be held out of the preseason.
Apr 20 - 7:34 PM

The Raiders will play the Patriots on Nov. 19 in Mexico City.

The game is on a Sunday, and will kick off at 4:25PM ET. Last season, the Raiders' Mexico City trip was a Monday night game. Per NBC Sports Bay Area, the Raiders will also host the Cowboys for Sunday Night Football in Week 15.

Alabama ILB Reuben Foster failed his Combine drug test.

Foster's sample was diluted, which counts as a failed test. He's now in the league's substance-abuse program. Foster claims he failed the test because he was extremely ill and taking in an exceptional amount of fluids. This adds to a nightmare Combine for Foster, who was sent home after getting into an altercation with a hospital worker. Foster is recovering from shoulder surgery. Foster is an elite talent, but could fall to Day 2 because of his growing off-the-field concerns.

Raiders exercised OLB Khalil Mack's fifth-year team option for 2018.

The perfunctory move keeps Mack under contract for the next two years and buys time in long-term talks. GM Reggie McKenzie has already admitted the obvious that he wants to extend Mack, but with Derek Carr and OG Gabe Jackson's rookie contracts both expiring next offseason, they figure to be the priorities.

The Cowboys will host the Giants in the first Sunday night game of the season on Sept. 10.

The schedule is slowly leaking ahead of Thursday night's official reveal. According to the Washington Post, the Giants will also travel to Washington D.C. for the Thanksgiving primetime game. The Patriots are playing in the official opening game of the season on Thursday Sept. 7, though their opponent has yet to be revealed. It's believed to be the Chiefs.

Bills OT Cyrus Kouandjio had a Tuesday run-in with police where he was not arrested.

Skipping voluntary workouts, Kouandjio was found "not fully clothed" in a field after "climbing over an electric fence." When approached by police, Kouandjio yelled "shoot me!" Clearly, he was not in his right mind. He was held for observation then released without incident. Recovering from surgery after a bizarre January accident in his home, Kouandjio is the Bills' swing tackle/potential right tackle.

Giants GM Jerry Reese said he "probably looked at more quarterbacks" this year leading up to the draft.

It is not a surprise considering Eli Manning's age (36) and level of play last season. The Giants may not be in the market for one of the top quarterbacks at No. 23 overall, but it will not be surprising if they invest a Day-2 pick on a "quarterback of the future." Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer or Pitt's Nathan Peterman could fit the bill if they fall.

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein reports there is "buzz" Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey will be the only running backs selected in the first round.

That would mean Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, and Joe Mixon all falling out of the first round. Kamara has production questions and Mixon has serious off-field concerns, so it will not be a surprise if they fall. However, Cook lasting until the second day would be a shock. Zierlein writes Cook is "clearly a first-rounder based on talent alone," but some teams have "concerns surrounding durability and character" while others are worried about his testing numbers. Cook tested as a ninth-percentile SPARQ athlete at the Combine.
