BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed six times for 13 yards in the Bengals' Week 4 loss to Cleveland.

He was not targeted in the passing game and got out-touched by Gio Bernard 16-6. Green-Ellis will carry little or no fantasy value into a Week 5 matchup with the Patriots. Through four games, "Law Firm" is on pace for 208 carries, 568 yards (2.73 YPC), and eight touchdowns. He is not utilized as a receiver, lacks any hint of big-play ability, and has a declining role.

The Chargers announced Tuesday a commitment to continue new stadium efforts in San Diego through 2015.

The Spanos family has been doing the year-to-year thing with San Diego and Qualcomm Stadium since February 2007. Each year since then, they've announced the team will not exercise its termination clause. It's come to light more this season because of the growing suspicion of at least one NFL team moving to Los Angeles in 2015. It's not going to be the Bolts. And it's appearing less and less likely that any team will make L.A. its home next season. The Chargers have been trying to get a new stadium in San Diego for 14 years.

Frank Gore (concussion) and Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) both did not practice Tuesday.

The 49ers weren't required to submit an injury report Tuesday, but they take on the Chargers on Saturday night, so both players are on a short week. Gore visited the doctor on Tuesday as part of the league's concussion protocol, while Hyde hurt his ankle and back in the third quarter last Sunday. Alfonso Smith and FB Bruce Miller are the only other ball-carriers on the 49ers roster.

Keenan Allen says he's taking things "week by week" with his broken right collarbone.

According to the Union-Tribune San Diego, Allen is "not considered a candidate for injured reserve." He has yet to undergo surgery, and "no such procedure is currently planned." It's interesting Allen and the Chargers are apparently so optimistic about an injury that typically sidelines players for the better part of two months, but we strongly suspect he's played his final snap of the 2014-15 campaign. Allen should be formally ruled out for Saturday's game against the 49ers some time in the next 48 hours. With Allen out, Seyi Ajirotutu will serve as the Bolts' No. 3 receiver behind Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal.

Speaking Tuesday, Falcons OC Dirk Koetter left open the possibility that Julio Jones (hip) misses Week 16.

Coach Mike Smith has already said he expects Jones to suit up against the Saints, but Smith has proven completely untrustworthy on player injuries. "It’s hard when you don’t know for sure if a guy is going to play," Koetter said. "We kind of have to have a contingency both ways. We have some ‘what if Julio plays,’ and some ‘what if Julio does not play.’ ... That’s one of the hardest things about not knowing if one of your best guys is going to go." The picture Koetter paints is one of uncertainty. We're unlikely to get a good read on Jones' status before Thursday or Friday, and it's quite possible he ends up a game-time decision.

CBS Chicago's Dan Bernstein reports Bears coach Marc Trestman is expected to be fired at season's end.

Per Bernstein, GM Phil Emery's fate remains "undecided." Trestman was an exciting coaching prospect after a promising rookie year, but his offense has gone in the tank while his defense has completely gone off the rails. His offensive coordinator was caught serving as an anonymous source ripping quarterback Jay Cutler. Perhaps Trestman's fate would be different were Cutler playing better, but it's hard to see him getting a third year in the Windy City.

Ravens placed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro on injured reserve with a sprained foot, ending his season.

Taliaferro sat out Week 15, but was listed with knee and ankle issues. It's unclear how severe his foot injury is. Foot sprains can be very tricky injuries for running backs to heal up from. A fourth-rounder out of small-school Coastal Carolina, Taliaferro had an impressive rookie season, averaging 4.3 yards on 68 carries. He scored four touchdowns, and added eight receptions. Taliaferro spent some time in coach John Harbaugh's doghouse for fumbling issues, but is a more intriguing long-term prospect than Bernard Pierce. Taliaferro could get a chance to lead the Ravens' backfield in 2015.

FOX Philadelphia's Howard Eskin reports Nick Foles' collarbone is just 70 percent healed.

Eskin's report has been seconded by FOX Sports' Mike Garofolo. It means there's no way Foles will return before the end of the regular season, and that he'll likely be questionable for a potential Wild Card appearance. The Eagles' hopes of a division championship are pinned to the scattershot arm and decision-making of Mark Sanchez.
Dec 16 - 2:39 PM

Ryan Mathews (ankle) sat out of Tuesday's practice.

The Chargers are playing the 49ers on Saturday, so they're starting their practice week on Tuesday. Per reporter Michael Gehlken, Mathews wasn't "particularly close" to suiting up for Sunday's loss to the Broncos. That would suggest he's not a good bet to return for Week 16, which would leave Branden Oliver, Donald Brown and Ronnie Brown to again form a committee. It would be a situation to avoid against the 49ers' stout run defense. Mathews' status will be updated on Wednesday.
Dec 16 - 2:33 PM

Redskins placed QB Colt McCoy on injured reserve with a neck injury, ending his season.

So ends McCoy's farcical run as the Redskins' starter. Robert Griffin III will be backed up by Kirk Cousins for the season's final two games. McCoy completed 71.1 percent of his 128 pass attempts for coach Jay Gruden, posting an 8.26 YPA and 4:3 TD:INT ratio in the process. They're good numbers, but inevitably would have plummeted the longer McCoy was allowed to remain under center. A journeyman who will be 29 in 2015, McCoy will fight for someone's No. 2 job next season.
Dec 16 - 2:20 PM

Jerry Jones said DeMarco Murray (hand) will likely be a game-time decision for Sunday's home matchup against the Colts.

The reports out of Valley Ranch Tuesday morning have been rosy, with both Bryan Broaddus of the team's official site and ESPN's Ed Werder reporting optimism. Murray underwent surgery on his left (non-dominant) hand Monday night and can't do any more damage by playing through it. This is also a borderline must-win game for the Cowboys' playoff hopes. We should have a good idea on Murray's status by Friday afternoon, but official word might not come until at 3pm ET Sunday ahead of the 4:25pm ET kick. Joseph Randle is a priority insurance add.
Dec 16 - 12:01 PM

Coach Bill O'Brien said it "looks like" Andre Johnson will return for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Johnson was inactive in Week 15, leaving DeVier Posey to start and DeAndre Hopkins to set a season-high with 13 targets. Johnson's return muddles the target totem pole, as does injuries to both Ryan Fitzpatrick (leg) and Tom Savage (knee). We wouldn't want to start anyone in this pass game with Case Keenum or Thad Lewis under center.
