Nate Washington caught four passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's Week 4, 38-13 win over the Jets.

The Titans are now 3-1 and sit atop the AFC South along with the Colts. Washington was targeted eight times on the day. He caught a four-yard touchdown from Jake Locker in the second quarter, and then reeled in a 77-yard score from Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter after Locker left with a hip injury. On the long score, Washington ran over the back judge on his way to the end zone. Through four games, Washington is on pace for 76 catches for 1,328 yards and eight touchdowns. All would be career-highs. If Locker is out for an extended period of time, Washington's value will take a hit with weak-armed Fitzpatrick. Washington has had a nice start to the season.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell called Week 4 a "realistic" return target for Julius Thomas (hand surgery).

Thomas has already been essentially ruled out for the first three games of the season. It sounds like returning in Week 4 against the Colts would be a best case scenario. Expect Allen Robinson to be a target monster in the meantime, and for Allen Hurns to also see a bump in early-season usage.

DeVante Parker (foot) resumed practicing Monday, and the Dolphins are "quietly hopeful" he'll be ready for Week 1.

Parker's limited session on Monday was his first practice of any kind since his June operation. With only 13 days to get in game shape, Parker will undoubtedly will be on a snap count for the opener, but he could be worked into the offense quickly. Parker remains worth stashing as a WR4/5.

Montee Ball appears to be in danger of losing his roster spot in Denver.

He won't be a part of Denver's first cuts, but he might not make it when the Broncos trim to 53 this upcoming weekend. Ball is squarely behind C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman, while Juwan Thompson is making a run to be Denver's No. 3 back. "Special teams is a big factor with him and Juwan," coach Gary Kubiak said. "We'll see. I'm fine with Montee." If Ball were cut on Saturday, he would go through the NFL's waivers process. "Right now it's C.J., Ronnie, then Juwan, then me," Ball acknowledged. "So I guess just what it is."

The league has upheld Martavis Bryant's four-game suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy.

Dominating the preseason after his hot finish to 2014, Bryant will rejoin the Steelers in Week 5. Bryant's initial role will depend on how Markus Wheaton fares in his absence, but he's worth stashing on your bench as a potential/likely stretch-run WR3.

The Bills have confirmed Tyrod Taylor will be their starting quarterback.

"It all comes down to the explosiveness Tyrod brings to us," were the words of coach Rex Ryan. Taylor is certainly explosive, but has lacked passing finesse going back to his days at Virginia Tech. He'll be someone the Bills try to hide, hoping for rushing yards and big plays. Taylor's legs put him on the QB2 radar, and leave him as an intriguing early-season possibility in daily leagues.
Aug 31 - 3:22 PM

Emmanuel Sanders (hamstring) has resumed practicing.

Sanders didn't appear to be full go on Monday, but he's fully on track for the opener. Last year's WR7 will begin the year as a mid-range WR2 as the Broncos feel out new coach Gary Kubiak's system.

Lions activated RB Joique Bell (knee, Achilles') from the active/PUP list.

It's not a moment too soon for the 29-year-old veteran, who isn't facing heat from just change-of-pace back Ameer Abdullah, but early-down prospect Zach Zenner. Provided he's in game shape, Bell will be the Lions' primary chain mover in Week 1, but he can't afford a slow start like the one he had in 2014. Abdullah is talented enough to begin stealing work from the word go.

Robert Griffin III has been benched.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives. Beset by never-ending drama and an inability to stay at 100 percent, RGIII has met his predictable end for the league's most dysfunctional franchise. It's possible he won't even be the first man off the bench, with vanilla coach Jay Gruden preferring Colt McCoy's pop-gun skill-set to RGIII's unrefined dual-threat aesthetic. Much of Griffin's issues are his own doing, but he's received zero help from a franchise that's offered bafflingly little support since making him a centerpiece three years ago. A trade or release is best for all parties involved, and the sooner, the better.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano said WR T.Y. Hilton is in the league's concussion protocol.

Hilton likely suffered the injury during the third preseason game, but he was not diagnosed until after the game. His status for Week 1 is unclear. The Colts open the season against the Bills in 13 days.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden named Kirk Cousins the team's starting quarterback.

Gruden said Cousins "is the best quarterback on our roster" and will be the starter for all of 2015. That may be the intention today, but nothing in the Redskins' recent history suggests they will slide through the entire season with one quarterback. Cousins owns a 59-percent career completion rate and has thrown 19 interceptions to 18 touchdowns in his three-year career. Robert Griffin III and even Colt McCoy could still make starts this season.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport expects the Bills to cut a quarterback after naming Tyrod Taylor their starter.

Coach Rex Ryan has said the team would probably keep three quarterbacks, but he has been anything but forthcoming about his quarterbacks during the last month. E.J. Manuel seems like the obvious choice if Buffalo decides to release someone, but Matt Cassel's $4.75 million cap charge could earn him the boot. The Bills would get all of that $4.75 million off the cap by releasing Cassel.
