Eli Manning completed 14-of-26 passes for 239 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in New York's 27-21 Week 6 loss to the Bears.

Interceptin' Eli got started early, tossing two picks on his first five throws, though the second appeared to be the result of a wrong route by Rueben Randle, who was briefly benched. Randle was also the target on Manning's first pick. The third was a tad high over the middle of the field to Brandon Myers late, but the tight end should have made the catch. Manning is now on pace for an astonishing 40 picks, which would be just two short of George Blanda's NFL "record." No player has thrown more than 30 since 1988. Manning's TD:INT ratio stands at 9:15. He's completing just 53.7 percent of his passes. With their season in the toilet, the G-Men get the Vikings on Monday Night Football in Week 7.

Chiefs signed RB Jamaal Charles to a two-year, $18.1 million contract extension through 2017.

So much for that holdout. Charles is now the second-highest paid running back in the league behind Adrian Peterson and is locked up through his age-31 campaign. On his previous deal, Charles was scheduled to make $3.9 million in salary and bonuses this season. He'll now make $8.3 million in 2014. It's well deserved after Charles put the Chiefs' offense on his back and carried them to the playoffs in 2013. Charles is entering his age-28 season. He's a locked-in top-three fantasy back, along with Peterson and LeSean McCoy.

Giants GM Jerry Reese admitted the team is concerned about first-round rookie WR Odell Beckham's "tweaked" hamstring.

"He missed part of spring ball with a hamstring and he tweaked it yesterday. Obviously there is a concern," Reese said. Beckham first injured the hammy in the spring, and then re-tweaked it on his first route on the opening day of training camp Tuesday. Coach Tom Coughlin said after Wednesday's practice that he has no idea when Beckham will be back on the field. Rookie receivers tend to struggle in year one anyway, so any missed practice time for Beckham is a concern. Jerrell Jernigan ran with the starters in three-wide sets on Wednesday.

Sidney Rice has retired from the NFL after 7 seasons.

Rice is just 27 years old, and theoretically should be in the prime of his career. But Rice has missed a total of 31 games in his seven seasons. He's reportedly retiring because of a history of concussions. Rice was knocked out a number of times in his playing career and also was trying to return from a torn ACL. What once looked like a promising career after an 83-catch, 1,312-yard, 8-touchdown 2009 season with the Vikings has ended in sad fashion. Rice caught a total of 243 passes for 3,592 yards and 30 scores. He went to one Pro Bowl.

Broncos SLB Von Miller (knee) has been cleared for limited work, and will avoid opening camp on the active/PUP list.

The Broncos will ease Miller back in after he tore his right ACL in Week 16. The Broncos will keep him away from contact until the third preseason game, at the earliest. Barring setbacks, Miller will be on the field for the opener. He slimmed down in the offseason and is fully committed to a bounce-back season. With DeMarcus Ware opposite him, Miller should easily post double-digit sacks.

Washington D.C. Police have asked for the public's help in locating suspended free agent TE Fred Davis, who is wanted for domestic violence.

Details are scarce, but police say the simple assault happened on June 2 around 3 AM in the D.C. area. It's Davis' second run-in with the law since the season ended; he was booked for DUI in February. Davis, 28, is currently serving an indefinite NFL suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. His life has gone off the tracks since a breakout 2011 season.

Daniel Fells has been operating as the Giants' starting tight end through the first two days of training camp.

Fells is the most experienced tight end in camp, as he's made 30 starts in 71 career appearances. However, he was out of the league last season and will turn 31 in September. The Giants may just be giving him the nod early on due to his experience, but it's something worth monitoring. Adrien Robinson has been tabbed the favorite to start at tight end all offseason. He ballooned up close to 290 pounds and reported to camp at 276. Whoever ends up manning tight end -- our money is still on Robinson -- won't be a recommended fantasy option.

Browns signed No. 8 overall pick CB Justin Gilbert to a four-year contract.

Cleveland and Gilbert were in a stalemate over offset language in his contract. The deal contains a fifth-year club option for 2018. Gilbert gets his contract done just in time for training camp. He's expected to open the season as the starter opposite Joe Haden. With Haden rounding into a shutdown corner, Gilbert is likely to be targeted heavily as a rookie. Buster Skrine will man the slot.

A source tells the Miami Herald that C Mike Pouncey (hip surgery) is now expected to be out until late October.

Pouncey's labrum repair was always expected to cost him the first 3-4 weeks of the season, but now it sounds like he won't be back until Week 8 or so. He's starting camp on the active/PUP list, which puts the reserve/PUP list in play for the regular season. It's a major concern for an already shaky offensive line, as Nate Garner will likely have to fill in at the pivot.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher labeled rookie Tre Mason as a "change-of-pace back" following May's draft.

Mason could earn complementary carries off the bench this season, but rumors of him threatening bellcow Zac Stacy's starting job are unfounded. "Tre is a change-of-pace back," said Fisher. "Good zone runner, obviously the numbers speak for themselves. He was a guy we just couldn't pass up at that point." Pre-draft reports claimed Mason would need wrist surgery, but the Rams disagreed. "He may have to do something after the season but it was not a concern of ours, nor was it a concern of the doctors," Fisher said of the wrist.

Tavon Austin acknowledged he struggled to learn the Rams' playbook as a rookie.

It's worth noting Austin scored a 7 on his 2013 Wonderlic test. "I didn't really know what was going on," he said. "Everything looked like Spanish and sounded like Spanish to me." Entering his second season, Austin now claims to have OC Brian Schottenheimer's system down pat. He's expected to be a sub-package weapon, playing limited snaps. Austin is a long shot for steady WR3 value.

Vernon Davis has reported to 49ers training camp.

Davis skipped the entire offseason program due to dissatisfaction with his $4.7 million salary, therefore forfeiting nearly $270,000 in bonuses. But with the chips down and the 49ers showing no signs of budging, he gives in and will avoid the $30,000 per day fines that come with missing camp. Now lacking leverage, Davis appears unlikely to get the raise he desires before Week 1 -- especially in light of the team-friendly deal Jimmy Graham was recently forced to accept.
