Dolphins waived DT Marvin Austin.

The 2011 second-rounder's stay lasted three weeks in Miami. He was active twice, making one tackle in 28 snaps. It's possible his draft pedigree will earn him a look or two on waivers, but Austin has been an immense bust to this point in his career.

Kelvin Benjamin (knee) will be limited in Wednesday's practice.

Benjamin predictably hurt his troublesome knee playing in the Buffalo blizzard last week. It doesn't sound like he was any worse for the wear than normal, giving Benjamin a chance to suit up this week against the Dolphins.

Tyrod Taylor (knee) is practicing Wednesday.

Nathan Peterman is in the concussion protocol after last week's win over the Colts. Per coach Sean McDermott, Taylor remains the starter when healthy, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports it's likely going to be Taylor under center against Miami. Taylor is getting the starter's reps Wednesday.

Both Gerald McCoy and the Bucs are hoping he can play through his Week 14 biceps injury.

Three days after the injury, we've yet to see concrete word on what the plan is moving forward with McCoy. He injured his right biceps last Sunday, and it's the one he tore in 2011. McCoy is likely dealing with some sort of strain, which is technically a tear. He admitted he was essentially playing with one arm last week, so it's hard to envision McCoy being dominant the final three games.

Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) announced he's been medically cleared to return.

"It's been a long road from that day to this, but I'm happy to say I've been medically cleared to return," Rodgers announced Tuesday night. "Thanks for all the love, support, prayers, and well wishes over the past 8 weeks." Rodgers' Week 15 status had been up in the air earlier in the day, but this seems to point to him being under center against the Panthers this week. The 7-6 Packers have treaded water in Rodgers' absence and now have a chance to run the table and get into the playoffs with arguably the league's best passer back in action. Jordy Nelson also gets a huge boost back up the receiver ranks with Rodgers back. Davante Adams remains a WR2. The Vikings and Lions are on the schedule after Carolina.

Redskins placed RB Byron Marshall on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, ending his season.

TE Jordan Reed and LB Chris Carter have also been sent to injured reserve. Chris Thompson's fill-in as the Redskins' pass-catching back, Marshall injured his hamstring on a Week 14 kick return. Marshall averaged a modest seven touches in two healthy games in place of Thompson. A second-year UDFA, Marshall will have to work to crack someone's 53-man roster in 2018.

Redskins placed TE Jordan Reed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, ending his season.

It's the only logical end to what was a lost 2017 for the would-be star tight end. Always injured, Reed was limited to a career-low six games. Reed reported to camp with a toe injury that had been bothering him since 2016. Things went downhill from there as he battled shoulder, chest and hamstring ailments, amongst others. When Reed was on the field during his age-27 campaign, he was ineffective, averaging a fullback-like 7.8 yards per catch. Signed through 2021, Reed will head into 2018 having averaged 10 games across five NFL seasons.

Patriots signed WR Kenny Britt to a two-year contract.

Waived by the worst team in football four days ago, Britt will try to stick to the Super Bowl-or-bust Patriots' 53-man roster. Especially while Chris Hogan (shoulder) was sidelined, the Pats were lacking depth at receiver. Hogan is back now, but another body was still needed. It's an open question as to whether Britt will be able to keep his roster spot, though the two-year deal suggests he will. Britt was all the way checked out for the Browns, making awful errors and few, if any, big plays. Although he will be catching passes from Tom Brady, Britt won't have any fantasy value in his new home.

Tevin Coleman (concussion) did not practice Tuesday.

It is not a surprise after he was placed in the concussion protocol following the game on Thursday. The good news is the Falcons do not play until Monday night, so he has a better chance than most to be cleared in time. Atlanta will release their first practice report on Thursday.
Dec 12 - 12:39 PM

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said CB Joe Haden (broken leg) will return to practice this week.

Haden has been out with a fractured fibula since Week 10. This does not mean he will definitely return this week, but it is a step in the correct direction. With the No. 1 seed on the line against New England, the Steelers could certainly use Haden back in the lineup on Sunday.
Dec 12 - 12:09 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports "it's difficult to predict" if Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) will play Week 15 against the Panthers.

Rapoport reports Rodgers' broken collarbone is not fully healed, but it was not expected to be by this point. As long as it is "80-percent healed," Rodgers could be cleared to play, but Rapoport adds there are people in the organization who are not interested in risking a re-injury for a small chance at a playoff berth. That is not surprising considering how cautious the Packers usually are with injuries. At best, Rodgers looks 50-50 to suit up this weekend.

Steelers placed ILB Ryan Shazier (back surgery) on injured reserve.

The Steelers are just making it official after Shazier underwent spinal stabilization surgery last week. His football future is in question, but his long-term health is the main concern right now.
