Colts placed WR Reggie Wayne on injured reserve with a torn right ACL, ending his season.

And so ends Wayne's streak of 189 consecutive games played. One month shy of his 35th birthday, Wayne should have enough time to get healthy for next summer's camp, but his recovery is unlikely to be as seamless as Robert Griffin III's or Adrian Peterson's. Leading the Colts in every meaningful receiving category at the time of his injury, Wayne is due a non-guaranteed $4 million in 2014. We're guessing it will be his as long as he wants to return. For his career, Wayne has a staggering 1,006 catches for 13,566 yards and 80 touchdowns.

Suspended Raiders OLB Aldon Smith claims it's not him in the "fire up session" video posted on Periscope.

The man who says his name is Aldon Smith in the video certainly sounds like him, but there's no definitive visual evidence. If it ends up being proven to be Smith in the video, it would be a catastrophic blunder from a player currently serving a year-long suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Smith can apply for reinstatement in November.

Free agent Antonio Cromartie has no plans to retire, and insists his hip wasn't an issue in 2015.

"Hell, no," Cro told the New York Daily News. "I'm not done. My hip wasn't the problem last year." Cro's comments come a few hours after NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported he was considering hanging up his cleats over "lingering hip concerns." Hip or no hip, Cro is 32 and coming off multiple mediocre seasons. The league could be making his decision for him.

Retired 49ers RT Anthony Davis says he has officially applied for reinstatement.

Davis first started talking about returning in February, but delayed for months, conveniently missing the entire offseason program. It's unclear if the 49ers plan to welcome him back or relinquish his rights. Davis is still only 27 (in October), but his play was on a bit of a downward trajectory before injuries limited him to seven games in 2014. The Niners do have an opening at Davis' old right tackle position, however. He should be welcomed back if the team thinks he's serious about playing at a high level.

NJ Advance Media's Dan Duggan believes Will Tye has the edge over Larry Donnell for the starting tight end job entering camp.

Donnell was disappointing last year even before a neck injury ended his season, and Tye showed superior playmaking ability after taking over the starting job. Both players should be involved, but Tye is shaping up as the much better fantasy bet. He is a good late-round flier.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports suspended DE Dion Jordan is owed a $1.69 million roster bonus on the fifth day of camp.

Jordan would need to get reinstated for this bonus to become an issue, but if he does the Dolphins will have a difficult decision. The former No. 3 overall pick has not been effective even when on the field, and it is not a given he will stay out of trouble even if he is reinstated. That big of a bonus would certainly ensure Jordan a spot on the final roster whether he earns it in camp or not, and some in the organization may be unwilling to make that commitment. This situation should come to a head within the next week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the NFL has determined Peyton Manning did not use HGH or any other performance-enhancing drugs.

Manning was implicated along with several other players in an Al Jazeera America report from December. The NFL determined there was "no credible evidence" the allegations were true after seven months of investigation. This development should be great news for James Harrison, Julius Peppers, Clay Matthews, and the other players implicated in the report, who have all submitted written statements declaring their innocence to the league office. The NFL still wants to interview each player.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell confirmed there are "no imminent plans" to sign free agent DE Greg Hardy.

Jacksonville made waves by working out Hardy last week, but it appears they were just updating their emergency list. "It was an opportunity for us," Caldwell said. "Here was a guy who was a franchise defensive end that was on the street and we tried to find out the facts of where he’s at, the truth behind him and everything that surrounds him and just do our homework." It sounds like Hardy could be an option for the Jags down the road, but for now his wait goes on.

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports the Jets have given free agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick "multiple offers."

A three-year, $24-million deal appears to be the main offer, but Mehta reports the Jets have "presented at least one other option." The details of the second offer are not known, but it is clear Fitzpatrick is not interested in either option. Fitzpatrick has said he will accept a one-year contract for the same $12 million he would earn in 2016 under the three-year offer, but the Jets have been unwilling to make that deal to this point. Even with camp opening this week, this saga does not appear close to an end.

Greg Jennings announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons.

Jennings made the announcement via a YouTube video linked below. Even though he played the final three years of his career in Minnesota and Miami, Jennings will forever be remembered as a Packer. He caught 425 passes for 6,537 yards and 53 touchdowns in his seven seasons with Green Bay, playing a key role in the Packers' Super-Bowl run in 2010. He is not Hall-Of-Fame bound, but he should earn some recognition from Green Bay down the road.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports the NFL is investigating a Periscope video which allegedly shows Raiders suspended OLB Aldon Smith smoking an unidentified substance.

The video is titled "Fire up session" and shows a lit, hand-rolled cigarette. While Smith's face is not seen on the video in question, his voice is clearly heard, and the post comes from an account which featured Smith on camera several times. A woman astutely warns Smith he should not be posting the video, but Smith says it is fine because "they don't have my name." He then says his name at the end of the video. Already suspended until at least November, this situation is unlikely to earn Smith any more fans in the league office.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports Bills walk-year CB Stephon Gilmore will report for training camp.

"I'm planning to go out to training camp," Gilmore said. "I know what I am. It'll happen eventually." What Gilmore "knows" is he is a top-flight corner, and he wants to be paid like one. The Bills have not been willing to meet that asking price to this point, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport believes Gilmore will play out the final year of his deal. Gilmore is likely looking for something similar to the five-year, $75-million deal Josh Norman landed this offseason. If he is allowed to hit free agency next spring, he will likely get it.
