The rib injury Gio Bernard sustained in Thursday night's loss at Miami is not expected to be serious.

Bernard was on his way to a monster game with 15 touches for 105 yards and two touchdowns before taking a shot to the ribs in the fourth quarter. He was in pain on the sidelines, jogged to the locker room and then emerged to watch overtime from the sidelines with his pads still on. It sounds like some kind of bruise or maybe a slight fracture. The electric Bernard has a long week to get ready for a Week 10 game at Baltimore. For now, consider him questionable.

Jaguars placed MLB Paul Posluszny on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle, ending his season.

Fringe player J.T. Thomas will get the first shot at replacing Posluszny, who has been the Jaguars' leading tackler each of the past four seasons. Jeremiah George is next up behind Thomas. Posluszny is far from a star, but has been a reliable presence for a defense without much talent or valuable experience. Now on the wrong side of 30, Posluszny is signed through 2016, but it's quite possible his $7.45 million 2015 salary gets him cut in the offseason.

Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo has been diagnosed with a torn right pectoral and is out for the season.

It's the third torn pectoral of Orakpo's career, although the first two were on his left side. Yet once again, a terrible Redskins defense in desperate need of playmakers is robbed of one. Orakpo had 12 quarterback hurries, six hits and one sack through seven games, also playing strong run defense. He'll enter free agency this spring as a high-risk, high-reward asset. Orakpo was on a one-year, $11.45 million franchise tender this season.

Trent Richardson said the hamstring injury he sustained Sunday is a "little tweak, nothing big."

Richardson sustained the strain in the fourth quarter and didn't return as the Colts had the game in hand. "I was able to still run and move. Coach told me there's no reason to back out there," he said. Before leaving, Richardson looked as impressive as he has in two years, totaling 118 yards on 18 touches. But Ahmad Bradshaw continues to soak up the majority of red-zone reps, capping T-Rich's fantasy appeal.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said he "would expect" Jake Locker (thumb) to return Week 8.

Locker practiced early last week, but his thumb became sore and the Titans were worried about mistakes with ball handling. So they went with Checkdown Charlie Whitehurst again, who predictably crippled the team in a narrow loss at Washington. Locker's return will be great news for Justin Hunter, whose vertical strengths need a big arm.

Coach Jay Gruden wouldn't rule out Robert Griffin III (ankle) returning for Week 8.

In the outside chance Griffin looks "great" in practice, top beat writer John Keim expects him to get the nod Monday night against Dallas. If not, it's expected to be Colt McCoy under center. Kirk Cousins has played his way off the map with nine interceptions in the last five games. Griffin was not playing well in Jay Gruden's pocket-passer scheme prior to his injury, but is on the QB1 map anytime he starts due to dual-threat ability. RG3 is a must-add for anyone in need of quarterback help.

Fred Jackson was told his groin injury typically comes with a four-week timetable.

Jackson says he'll try to beat that timetable and hasn't ruled himself out of returning for Week 10. But given the severity of his injury and how difficult it is for running backs to overcome soft-tissue pulls, Week 11 or 12 seems more realistic. His adductor longus pulled off the bone about a centimeter. Jackson remains a hold for owners if possible, especially with tasty matchups against the Packers and Raiders in Weeks 15 and 16. C.J. Spiller (collarbone) is out for the year.

When asked if Denard Robinson will keep the feature back job, coach Gus Bradley said, "Yeah, I think so."

Coaches are loathe to make depth chart declarations, especially right after games. But Bradley had to at least suggest he'd give it up for Shoelace after a 22-127-1 outing as the starter. When Toby Gerhart returns from his foot injury, he'll slide into a complementary role along with Storm Johnson. Gerhart has been a drop candidate in 10- and 12-team leagues for a few weeks now.

Peyton Manning completed 22-of-26 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday night's 42-17 win over the 49ers.

Manning broke Brett Favre's career touchdown record with an eight-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas in the second quarter. He picked apart an injured 49ers secondary, finishing with just four incompletions. With the Broncos playing on a short turnaround next week, Manning was rested for Brock Osweiler in the fourth quarter. He's now up to 1,848 yards, 19 touchdowns, and three interceptions through six games. The Broncos take on the Chargers in Week 8.
Oct 19 - 11:56 PM

Odell Beckham caught four passes for 34 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's Week 7 loss at Dallas.

In the first game since Victor Cruz's season-ending knee injury, Beckham impressed by playing every single snap and operating all over the formation. His first touchdown came on a pretty route in which he roasted Brandon Carr for a 9-yard score. The second score was out of slot, as the rookie sat down in a zone and Eli Manning found him from five yards out. With explosive change-of-direction ability and strong hands, Beckham is quickly becoming a favorite of Eli. The only bad note is that the Giants have tough matchups after the bye: IND, SEA, SF.

Jamaal Charles rushed 22 times for 95 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City's Week 7 win over the Chargers, adding two catches for an additional 12 yards.

In the process, Charles passed Priest Holmes to become the Chiefs' all-time leading rusher. Holmes managed 6,070 yards on the ground as a Chief. Charles is now at 6,113. Charles took a thundering, mid-air hit from former teammate Brandon Flowers on his touchdown, but it was Flowers who ended up leaving the game with a concussion. Charles gets the Rams' soft run defense in Week 8.
Oct 19 - 7:30 PM

Andre Ellington rushed 24 times for 88 yards and caught six balls for 72 yards in the Cardinals' Week 7 win over the Raiders.

After struggling a bit in the first half -- 10-34 on the ground -- Ellington was late coming out of the tunnel for the third quarter, reportedly nursing a rib injury. Stepfan Taylor started the second half and ran well before Ellington reentered to drop a critical third-down pass. Ellington retook his featured role for most of the final two quarters, putting Arizona's offense on his back on a highly productive third-quarter drive. Unfortunately, he was vultured by Taylor twice inside the Oakland five-yard line, as Taylor scored a two-yard rushing TD in addition to a four-yard receiving score on a speed out. Ellington missed snaps on the Cardinals' clock-killing possession late in the fourth quarter with cramping, but did return. He'll be a borderline RB1 when the Cardinals take on the Eagles in Week 8.
