C.J. Spiller rushed 12 times for a game-high 116 yards and caught two passes for 39 yards in the Bills' Week 9 loss to Kansas City.

The 155 total yards were easily Spiller's high on the season. He was an absolute machine whenever on the field, ripping off big play after big play against a normally stout Chiefs run defense. Unfortunately, on two occasions Spiller re-tweaked his bum ankle and was ultimately unable to finish Sunday's game. The Bills face Pittsburgh in Week 10. We understand there is an argument to be made that playing Spiller gives them their best chance to win -- even when he's not 100 percent -- but the Bills would be smart to seriously consider holding Spiller out through their Week 12 bye.

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure expects Julio Jones (hip) to play in Sunday's game at New Orleans.

Jones remains a game-time call after not practicing at all the last two weeks. But the Falcons are in a must-win spot and obviously need their most talented offensive weapon. Here's the full report from McClure: "From all the information I've gathered, Jones definitely will play against the Saints. And it's not as if the Falcons will have him on the field just as a decoy. They need Jones in this desperation game, so I suspect he will get plenty of opportunities." We'll have more information by Sunday morning at the absolute latest.

DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) missed his third straight day of practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 16.

Coach Bill O'Brien continues to call Hopkins a game-time decision, but it's not looking good for him to play against the Ravens. It's probably just as well with Case Keenum at quarterback and Andre Johnson (concussion, probable) returning to siphon targets. Hopkins would've been a high-risk WR3 play.

Updating a previous item, T.Y. Hilton (hamstring, questionable) stated "I don't know" when asked if he will play Sunday against the Cowboys.

It's a red flag because players are typically overly optimistic about their own odds of playing. "I don't know," conceded Hilton, who did not practice all week. "I'm going to go talk to Coach. Did some field work. I feel all right. So I'm going to go talk to him and see what's up." Hilton is officially a game-time decision, but we're still guessing he won't play. "If our conversation goes well and (Pagano) wants me to play, then I'll play," T.Y. added. "If not, I'll sit out."
Dec 19 - 2:28 PM

Panthers coach Ron Rivera indicated Friday that DeAngelo Williams (questionable, hand) will not play Sunday at Cleveland.

Rivera left open the possibility of Williams being active on game day as an "emergency back," but he's not going to be a factor unless other running backs get injured during the game. Jonathan Stewart is an RB2 against the Browns' weak run defense. Mike Tolbert will be second in line for backfield work.
Dec 19 - 1:08 PM

Coach Ron Rivera announced Jonathan Stewart will start Week 16 against the Browns.

DeAngelo Williams (hand) will only be used in an "emergency," leaving Stewart to handle another 20-plus carries against a suspect Cleveland run defense. With Cam Newton back under center, it should open up more running lanes than Stewart saw with Derek Anderson in Week 15. Stewart is in the RB2 discussion.
Dec 19 - 12:51 PM

Cam Newton (back) is listed as probable for Week 16 against the Browns.

He'll make the start and be a high-end QB2 with unlimited upside. Derek Anderson heads back to holding the clipboard with a 2-0 record across two spot starts.
Dec 19 - 12:45 PM

C.J. Spiller (collarbone) is listed as probable for Week 16 against the Raiders.

It's unclear what Spiller's role will be in his return from I.R./recall due to a broken collarbone. Fred Jackson has been handling the vast majority of the work in the Buffalo backfield of late. Spiller can't be trusted in fantasy lineups during title week, even against a Raiders defense that gets gashed by running backs via the pass. Oakland has surrendered eight receiving touchdowns to running backs.

Seahawks signed DE Cliff Avril to a four-year, $28.5 million contract extension through 2018.

The deal includes $16 million guaranteed. After Avril accepted a discount from the Seahawks prior to the 2013 season on a two-year contract, it appears the 28-year-old pass rusher is taking another one to stay in Seattle. Avril has graded out as a top-seven pass-rushing 4-3 end at Pro Football Focus in 2014, as he currently sits fourth at the position with 38 quarterback hurries. He has 12.5 sacks across 29 regular-season games for the Seahawks. Seattle continues to lock up its talent.
Dec 19 - 12:09 PM

Mike Chappell of RTV6 Indianapolis is "convinced" T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) will not play Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Chappell has been covering the Colts for 30 years. His opinion is worthy of taking note. Hilton hasn't practiced at all this week and wasn't present again Friday. If he sits, Donte Moncrief should see a major boost in snaps. With Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks lacking any semblance of separation skills, Moncrief and Coby Fleener could hog targets against the Cowboys' weak pass defense.
Dec 19 - 11:48 AM

Julio Jones (hip) remained sidelined at Friday's practice.

He'll be listed as questionable. We're unlikely to know Julio's status for Week 16 until Sunday morning. If he can't go, Harry Douglas will make another start opposite Roddy White. Both Douglas (foot) and White (knee) will play.
Dec 19 - 11:46 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Cowboys have left the decision to play Week 16 against the Colts up to DeMarco Murray (hand), "in which case he will definitely opt to play."

Murray's going to give it a go Sunday. He has an outside shot at netting 2,000 rushing yards -- he currently sits at 1,687 -- and is said to have a high pain tolerance. Murray's broken bone is in his left (non-dominant) hand. If he suits up, owners have to play him. Murray is having an historic season and has a plus Week 16 matchup against a leaky Colts run defense. We can't expect Murray to carry it 30 times, but 20-plus touches is doable.
