The Jaguars have officially named Denard Robinson their No. 2 running back.

Robinson has moved ahead of both Justin Forsett and Jordan Todman. It's a role he played prior to the bye, when he had four carries compared to 19 for starter Maurice Jones-Drew. "We bumped him up to number two and we're intrigued by him at the tailback spot," coach Gus Bradley said. "I would say that we're going to still continue with that process." We've always liked the former Michigan quarterback's prospects as a Chris Johnson kind of tailback in the NFL. Robinson is a hold in Dynasty leagues (MJD is in a contract year) and would come into some flex re-draft value if Jones-Drew were to get hurt.

Khalil Mack skipped the start of Raiders' voluntary OTAs on Tuesday.

Mack has skipped the Raiders' entire offseason program as he angles for a new contract. 2018 is the final year of his rookie deal. It's possible Mack even skips mandatory minicamp, but he would then be at risk of fines. A new contract should get done before Week 1. Unless you're the Redskins with Kirk Cousins, teams don't mess around with franchise-type talents like Mack.

ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports Leonard Fournette has reported to OTAs "looking a bit slimmer."

After weighing in at 240 at the Combine, Fournette was listed at 228 as a rookie. Although that's what was expected, Fournette still appeared too bulky at times, and had trouble staying on the field because of his recurrent ankle issues. Shedding a few more pounds could be a way to both increase durability and add a little more explosion. It's an offseason storyline to watch.

Julian Edelman (knee) was a limited participant during OTAs Tuesday.

Edelman did not participate during team drills, but he did do some individual work and fielded punts. Recovering from an August ACL tear, the Patriots will likely ease Edelman through the offseason program, but he should be ready to go at or near the beginning of training camp.

Deshaun Watson (knee) is throwing during individual drills at OTAs.

Watson will not participate in team drills, but this is a positive step in his recovery from a torn ACL. Coach Bill O'Brien said Watson is "on schedule to participate in training camp."

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports Terrelle Pryor suffered an ankle injury this offseason.

This explains why he was absent during OTAs on Tuesday. Pryor ended last season on injured reserve with an ankle issue which required surgery in November. Mehta did not say if this injury is to the same ankle, but it is a massive setback either way. Playing on a one-year deal, Pryor needs to be healthy and productive this season to cash in next spring.

Christian Hackenberg worked as the No. 4 quarterback during OTAs.

It was a distant fourth, as well. Hackenberg did not see many reps during individual drills behind Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Darnold, and he was blanked completely during the team drills. Jets GM Mike Maccagnan seems intent on keeping the Hackenberg dream alive, but his days on the roster are numbered.

New Panthers OC Norv Turner believes he can help Cam Newton become more efficient.

Newton is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but it is not because of his accuracy. Cam has completely 60 percent or more of his passes in just two seasons, and he has not managed the feat since 2013. Despite that, his new coordinator has high expectations. "I see Cam as a guy that can be in the mid- to high-60s in the completion percentage," Turner said. "We're working hard in terms of scheming and getting the ball out quick. ... We want a good mix of dropback, play-action." High-60s sounds like a pipe dream, but it would not be surprising to see Newton become a more efficient passer in a better system with better weapons around him.

Giants coach Pat Shurmur said Odell Beckham (ankle) wants to do more than they are letting him during OTAs.

"He’s champing at the bit wanting to get out and do more than we’re allowing him to do at this point," Shurmur said. "But I think we’re just trying to make sure that everything is healed to the fullest before we put him out there." It is a sensible approach considering how important Beckham is to New York's offense. The comments also suggest Beckham is close to full health. He should be a full-go by training camp.

Panthers WR Curtis Samuel (ankle) is participating in OTAs.

It is something of a surprise after coach Ron Rivera sounded pessimistic about Samuel's health at the end of March. While it is not clear if he will participate in team drills, he appeared to be moving well as he ran routes in individual work. Coming off essentially a lost rookie season, a full offseason would be huge for Samuel.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Ryan Tannehill (knee) will "do everything" during OTAs.

The Miami Herald had a similar report last week. Near full health if not already there, Tannehill should have a full offseason to get ready for his first game action since December of 2016.

Rams fifth-round OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo recently underwent foot surgery and will be sidelined until training camp.

Okoronkwo tumbled to the fifth round where the Rams traded up with the Broncos to take him at No. 160 overall. At 6'2/253, Okoronkwo won Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the Big 12 last season and is a plus athlete at his position. He enters an EDGE spot in L.A. where the Rams are in an overhaul, replacing 2017 starters Robert Quinn and Connor Barwin. Okoronkwo missing important practice time this summer lessens his chances of making an early impact.
