Jets coach Rex Ryan said Monday he expects Santonio Holmes to return from his hamstring injury in Week 11 against the Bills.

"I think he'll play," said Rex. In terms of points per game, Holmes is the No. 38 overall fantasy receiver this season. He's worth scooping up in 12- and 14-team leagues as a WR3/4. Santonio is averaging six targets per appearance.

In the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's poll of 16 NFL scouts, 11 voted LSU's Jamal Adams this year's top draft-eligible safety.

Ohio State's Malik Hooker garnered four first-place votes, and Michigan's Jabril Peppers received the final one. In the Journal-Sentinel's "points" system based on the scouts' rankings, Adams, Hooker, and Peppers rounded out the top three followed by UConn's Obi Melifonwu (4), Washington's Budda Baker (5), Utah's Marcus Williams (6), Florida's Marcus Maye (7), and N.C. State's Josh Jones (8). "The West Virginia kid (Raiders 2016 first-round pick Karl Joseph) wouldn’t be in the top 10 of this group," one AFC executive said. "I’ve looked at it over and over. It’s as deep a safety draft as I’ve ever seen."

In a poll of 17 NFL scouts, 14 voted Ohio State's Marshon Lattimore this year's top cornerback prospect.

Alabama's Marlon Humphrey, USC's Adoree' Jackson, and Washington's Kevin King got the final three first-place votes. In the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's "points" system, Lattimore came in first among draft-eligible corners followed by 2) Humphrey, 3) Ohio State's Gareon Conley, 4) Washington's Sidney Jones, 5) Jackson, 6) LSU's Tre'Davious White, 7) King, and 8) Florida's Quincy Wilson. "This is probably the best group of corners I’ve done in years and years," said one longtime NFC executive. "I see seven in the first (round), for sure."

Speaking with league sources, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah came away with the opinion that he "wouldn't be shocked" if Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey is picked before the Panthers' selection at No. 8 overall.

Per Jeremiah, McCaffrey and Temple LB Haason Reddick are two of the "hottest" names in league circles at the moment. McCaffrey has long been connected to the Panthers at No. 8, but his stock continues to soar and it sounds like there's a real possibility he could be the top back off the board. We'd still bet on it being LSU's Leonard Fournette, but McCaffrey likely won't be far behind. "He produces points," Jeremiah's sources said about McCaffrey as the reason teams love him.

According to the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, the "rumor in league circles" is the Bears are "pondering" Stanford DE Solomon Thomas, LSU S Jamal Adams, and Ohio State CB Marshon Lattimore if they stay put at No. 3 overall.

But Biggs' gut feel is that he "can't see how" the Bears fail to come out of Round 1 without a quarterback, especially if they are able to swing a deal to move down the board. Of course, that would require a trade partner, and there are a number of other teams in the top-10 trying to move down. Biggs thinks UNC QB Mitchell Trubisky may be squarely in Chicago's crosshairs.

According to the Chicago Tribune, there was "scuttlebutt in league circles" Monday night that the 49ers could take Leonard Fournette at No. 2 overall.

Ex-NFL personnel man Greg Gabriel tweeted something similar on Tuesday. The Chicago Trib's Brad Biggs also passes along "chatter" that the Jaguars are looking into quarterbacks at the No. 4 pick, while it's believed at least half of the teams drafting inside the top ten hope to move down. If a team like the 49ers can't execute a move down the board, we suppose it's possible they could settle for someone like Fournette. It's been reported that the 49ers are considering "giving up" on contract-year RB Carlos Hyde due to persistent injuries.

Rams franchise player Trumaine Johnson is open to an extension.

Franchised two years in a row then placed on the trade market, Johnson's situation in Los Angeles has seemingly turned toxic, but he's open to staying if the Rams are willing to pay up. Everything the Rams have done the past two years has suggested they are not. The sides have until July 15 to work something out.

Ohio State CB Gareon Conley will meet with Cleveland police on Monday.

Accused of rape, Conley "fervently" denies the allegations. A projected first-round pick, Conley had been in Philadelphia for the draft, but has returned home. Much like La'El Collins two years ago, it's possible Conley goes from Day 1 to undrafted if his situation doesn't have a sense of resolution by Thursday. Seeing as he's not meeting with police until next week, teams are extremely unlikely to feel comfortable with his situation by draft time.

NFL reinstated suspended Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington.

Washington has been suspended since May 2014 for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Technically, he's yet to be suspended for his 2013 domestic violence charges. The Cardinals greeted Washington's unexpected return with a lukewarm statement. "Considering we have been prohibited from having contact with him over the last three years, it would be premature today to discuss a potential return to the team." Washington turned 30 during his marathon ban, and has appeared in 12 games since 2012. In theory, the Cardinals could use Washington's help at inside linebacker, but he's a complete mystery at this point. Washington was a star before his suspension. It's quite possible he's granted his release.

NFL conditionally reinstated suspended Steelers WR Martavis Bryant.

Bryant's second NFL suspension is over after 407 days. Many players — Justin Blackmon, Daryl Washington, Josh Gordon — fail to make it back after being slapped with indefinite bans, so Bryant is ahead of the curve in that regard. He's one strike away from what would likely be permanent ineligibility, however. The 25 year old has to be a perfect citizen from here on out. A pterodactyl-like touchdown scorer, Bryant has 14 scores in 21 career games, and has averaged 17.3 yards per catch. He has the ability to be one of the biggest difference makers in the game at receiver. He was desperately missed opposite Antonio Brown in 2016. Bryant's upside and downside are equally self evident.

NFL Network's Mike Silver reports the Browns have talked with three teams picking in the top eight about a trade up from No. 12.

Likely to select Myles Garrett at No. 1 overall, the Browns might have to move up from No. 12 for their latest "quarterback solution." The Browns have been linked to UNC's Mitchell Trubisky for months, but his stock is unclear. He could go anywhere from No. 2 to No. 12. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported as recently as three days ago that the Browns were still seriously considering Trubisky at No. 1, but it's ultimately unlikely.

Teddy Bridgewater (knee) remains without a timetable for a return.

GM Rick Spielman did say that Bridgewater had a "great" first week of offseason practice. Bridgewater is eight months removed from blowing up his knee in a training camp practice. Every indication is that Sam Bradford will remain the Vikings' starter for 2017.
