Shane Vereen (wrist, short-term IR) is eligible to be activated to the 53-man roster this week.

Vereen returned to practice two weeks ago and appears on track to make his return in Monday night's game against the Panthers. "As soon as he’s ready and able to help us and we are able to play him, certainly he will have a role in the game," OC Josh McDaniels said. Vereen will quickly take passing back duties away from Brandon Bolden, sprinkle in some base carries and do some "joker" things. Stashers can comfortably expect 10-14 touches per game down the stretch.

Packers signed RG Jahri Evans, formerly of the Saints.

Evans turns 34 later this summer, but the Packers have a gaping hole at right guard after losing T.J. Lang as a free agent to the division-rival Lions. Don Barclay was penciled in as the tentative favorite to take over, but he's been brutal in starting chances in the past. Evans offers some short-term security, but he's definitely on his last legs. Green Bay would be wise to draft some help. Evans started all 16 games last season and has made 169 career starts for New Orleans.

Ohio State CB Gareon Conley released a statement on Wednesday, calling the rape allegations against him "untrue, wrongful, and malicious."

"The allegations against me concerning the night of April 8/9 that have recently been reported in multiple media outlets are completely false," Conley said. "I did not commit a crime and have not been charged with a crime. I pride myself on doing things the right way on and off the field. The things being said about me and what happened that night are not true and don't fit my character at all. I realize that I put himself in the situation and I could have used better judgment. However, I have worked tirelessly to put myself in position to have the honor of being an NFL draft pick and these untrue allegations are putting a huge cloud over my name. These allegations appear to be an attempt to ruin this once-in-a-lifetime experience for me and my family. There were several witnesses including another female, who were present the entire time and have given statements that give an accurate account of what took place." The entire statement can be read at the link.

Updating a previous item, Teddy Bridgewater's (knee) contract would toll to 2018 if he spends all of this season on reserve/PUP.

With this information, it would make all the sense in the world for the Vikings to simply stash Bridgewater on PUP for the season, let him try and get healthy, and then revisit the situation in 2018 when, as of right now, Sam Bradford is scheduled to be a free agent. A lot will happen between now and then, but it sounds like Bridgewater won't be hitting free agency next March.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline reports if the Browns fail to land UNC QB Mitchell Trubisky in the first round, Cal QB Davis Webb will be the target at No. 33 overall.

On Tuesday, Pauline reported Webb is drawing a ton of interest from teams at the top of Round 2. He's expected to be one of the first five quarterbacks off the board, and there was some chatter earlier this month that Webb has a chance to go in the first round. If the Browns are unable to move up from No. 12 overall to get to Trubisky, they could be in position to go with Clemson's Deshaun Watson, but it's unclear who Cleveland prefers as their Plan B behind Trubisky.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Vikings are expected to decline Teddy Bridgewater's fifth-year team option for 2018.

As expected. Bridgewater mangled his knee last summer, forcing the Vikings to swing a deal for Sam Bradford, and Bridgewater still isn't healthy and remains without a timetable for return. Bradford is expected to get an extension at some point, which should allow Bridgewater to hit the open market in 2018. (They're not going to pay both.) He shouldn't be rushing to get back to the field in Minnesota unless Bradford gets hurt. Bridgewater is still just 24 and could be an interesting free-agent case next year.

Raiders acquired RB Marshawn Lynch and a 2018 sixth-round pick from the Seahawks in exchange for a 2018 fifth-round pick.

Lynch is in Oakland Wednesday to take his physical, which he should pass considering he's rarely been injured in his career and is coming off a year in retirement. The Raiders apparently were impressed with Lynch's conditioning at his recent visit. Lynch is getting a two-year deal from the Raiders, though it's likely a one-year pact with an option. He just turned 31 but will be running behind a top-three offensive line, which is a massive upgrade from his final year in Seattle.

Following the reinstatement of Martavis Bryant, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Sammie Coates is "on notice" and competing for a job with Justin Hunter.

Antonio Brown, Bryant, Eli Rogers, and (likely) Darrius Heyward-Bey are locks to make the team. That leaves Coates, Hunter, Cobi Hamilton, and Demarcus Ayers as the current Nos. 5-8 wideouts in no particular order. Coates had a horrific 2016 season filled with drops, but he did suffer a mangled hand that severely limited him much of the second half of the year. Hunter is a similar player with big talent who hasn't been able to put it together, but Big Ben is best QB he's ever had.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bucs have talked with "at least three teams" about moving back in the first round and possibly out of round one altogether.

Tampa Bay isn't alone in wanting to move back. It's far easier said than done because most teams want to keep their second- and third-round picks in what is perceived to be a draft class that lacks star talent but is thought to be extremely deep. Many teams in the second half of Round 1 will probably be working the phones on Thursday night trying to move back and stock picks.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Titans "already have received offers" for their No. 5 overall pick and are contemplating a trade to move back in the draft.

Most teams in the top-10 apparently want to move back, but you have to find a trade partner. Titans GM Jon Robinson might have one, and he sits in a good spot just ahead of the Jets at No. 6. Teams may be looking to jump ahead of New York possibly for a quarterback, and No. 5 could be a landing spot for the Browns looking to come up from 12th overall. Tennessee doesn't currently own a second-round pick, and word is they want one or more of them for Friday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Raiders and Marshawn Lynch have agreed to a two-year contract.

Lynch will be in Oakland on Wednesday to take his physical, and if/once he passes the Raiders and Seahawks will finalize a trade. Deadlines spur action, and before the start of the draft on Thursday was when everyone involved wanted to get this thing done. Lynch turned 31 last week and was showing signs of decline in 2015 with Seattle. Maybe the year off did his body some good.

In the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's poll of 16 NFL scouts, 11 voted LSU's Jamal Adams this year's top draft-eligible safety.

Ohio State's Malik Hooker garnered four first-place votes, and Michigan's Jabril Peppers received the final one. In the Journal-Sentinel's "points" system based on the scouts' rankings, Adams, Hooker, and Peppers rounded out the top three followed by UConn's Obi Melifonwu (4), Washington's Budda Baker (5), Utah's Marcus Williams (6), Florida's Marcus Maye (7), and N.C. State's Josh Jones (8). "The West Virginia kid (Raiders 2016 first-round pick Karl Joseph) wouldn’t be in the top 10 of this group," one AFC executive said. "I’ve looked at it over and over. It’s as deep a safety draft as I’ve ever seen."
