Browns released CB Chris Owens and WR Armanti Edwards from injured reserve.

A knee injury ended Owens' season earlier this month. The Falcons' former slot corner, Owens appeared in 12 games with Cleveland, making two starts. A colossal bust as a return man, Edwards is likely near the end of his NFL career.

Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 70 yards on 13 carries and caught five passes for 26 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's Week 2 loss to the Colts.

Bradshaw outplayed Trent Richardson for the second consecutive game to open the season. Bradshaw took his first carry of the game 29 yards up the left side. It looked like he was shot out of a cannon. Bradshaw legitimately looks like he's been reborn, and he's playing in all red-zone and passing situations, as evidenced by his one-yard and seven-yard scores. He's clearly the superior talent in the Colts' backfield, but we tend to think the Indianapolis coaching staff is too stubborn to realize it. That, or they'll wake up when it's too late.

Darren Sproles rushed for 26 yards and one touchdown on four carries in the Eagles' 30-27, Week 2 win over the Colts on Monday night, adding seven catches for an additional 152 yards.

Sproles was simply unstoppable. He had Eagles beat writers calling it one of the best running back performances they'd seen in team history. Sproles reeled in all seven of his targets, and shook a Colts defender in the open field before pinballing off three others on his way to the end zone on his 19-yard touchdown run. We didn't see this Sproles in New Orleans last season, and Philadelphia snagged him for a fifth-round pick in the offseason. Coach Chip Kelly is an offensive mastermind, but not many saw this type of usage for Sproles. He's a legitimate RB2/FLEX option every week in all formats. Sproles has 263 yards and two touchdowns through his first two games as LeSean McCoy's No. 2.

Roddy White (hamstring) did not practice Monday.

It's a new injury for the 32-year-old. White has been battling a left knee issue for the past few months, but the hamstring is his latest concern. With the Falcons playing the Bucs on Thursday night on a short week, White needs to be watched closely. We'll update his status again no later than Tuesday afternoon.

TMZ reports Adrian Peterson has already been cleared of the latest child abuse accusation involving one of his other sons.

Peterson was accused of hitting one of his other sons, a four-year-old, in the forehead and leaving him with a scar after disciplining him for cursing at a sibling. A source said the case went nowhere because it was determined the boy was injured when he accidentally hit his head on a carseat while Peterson was punishing him. Peterson's form of discipline was "not impermissible." In Texas, parents are allowed to administer "reasonable punishment."

Raiders signed WR Vincent Brown to a one-year contract.

It's a sign the Raiders expect de facto No. 1 receiver Rod Streater (hip flexor) to miss time. A 2011 third-round pick of the Chargers, Brown appeared to have a bright future ahead of him before breaking his ankle in 2012. He wasn't the same in 2013, and couldn't survive final cuts this summer. Brown moved like a tight end last season, which is a problem since he's 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. He's an inoffensive flier for a team as talent-deficient as the Raiders, but he's not going to make an impact on the football field.

Speaking at Monday's presser, Browns coach Mike Pettine said Ben Tate (knee) "probably" won't return for Week 3.

Almost all signs suggest there's no "probably" about it, and that Tate won't suit up against the Ravens. Tate hinted last week that he's targeting a return after the Browns' Week 4 bye. Terrance West filled in ably against the Saints, and will remain in the RB2 conversation for as long as Tate is sidelined.

Coach Lovie Smith suggested Doug Martin (knee) would have participated Monday if the Bucs had held a practice.

As beat writer Rick Stroud notes, it means Martin is "in play" for Thursday night's game at Atlanta. The Falcons have been gashed by the run game through two weeks -- surrendering a league-high five rushing TDs -- but Martin's role isn't entirely clear. Bobby Rainey went off for 22-144 and 3-30 in the pass game during Sunday's loss to St. Louis. This may be an even RBBC with Martin back.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen passed along word on NFL Insiders Monday that there is already talk amongst NFL people that Raiders coach Dennis Allen's job could be in danger.

"I know a lot of people around the league are talking about it," said Mort. Allen is the least of the Raiders' problems, in our opinion, but every loser loves a scapegoat. Once again, the Raiders cobbled together the worst roster in the league, and once again they are atrociously bad. A full-house cleaning is desperately needed in Oakland. It was needed before the 2014 offseason began.

Speaking Monday, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians admitted he was "concerned" about Carson Palmer's shoulder, but also hinted it could prove to be a minor issue.

Palmer has a bruised nerve in his shoulder. "Anytime you're dealing with nerves, you're concerned," Arians said, before adding it's "just a bruised nerve that's being ornery." Palmer himself said he doesn't know when he'll be back. For now, he should be considered week to week, and highly questionable for Week 3. Palmer could end up a game-time decision for Sunday's 4:05ET tilt with the 49ers.

Coach Bruce Arians acknowledged Monday that Andre Ellington is still dealing with pain in his foot.

Ellington has a tear in the foot. The Cardinals haven't backed off him much, however, shoveling 16 more touches onto Ellington in Sunday's win over the Giants. He responded with 101 total yards. Arians says Ellington will continue to be held out of practice on Wednesdays, and they'll evaluate him thereafter every week. He remains on track to play in this week's meeting with the 49ers.

Vernon Davis is undergoing an MRI on his left ankle.

Davis suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss, and was spotted on crutches afterward. It's quite possible he has a high-ankle sprain, which would sideline him in the neighborhood of four weeks. Backup Vance McDonald is dealing with a knee injury, meaning third-year UDFA Derek Carrier could be the next man up on the depth chart.
