Aaron Dobson (foot) is active for Week 16 against the Ravens.

Dobson is returning after a three-week absence. With Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) and Josh Boyce (ankle) both inactive, Dobson will serve as the Patriots' starting "X" receiver. He's a WR4/5 for fantasy purposes. Also inactive for the Patriots are LT Nate Solder, TE D.J. Williams, LB Dane Feltcher, DT Isaac Sopoaga and DE Jake Bequette.

Saints signed CB Delvin Breaux.

A shutdown corner in the CFL, Breaux received strong interest from NFL teams this offseason. He lands in a good spot with the Saints, who had some of the worst cornerback play in the league last year. At 6-foot-1, 195, Breaux has prototype size for Rob Ryan's Press Man concepts. With Keenan Lewis and Terrence Frederick currently atop the Saints' depth chart, Breaux will have a chance for immediate playing time.

Seahawks GM John Schneider said re-signing impending free-agent RCB Byron Maxwell is "one of our first priorities."

Targeted frequently by teams afraid to attack Richard Sherman, Maxwell has more than held his own as a starter the past two seasons and would find several interested parties on the open market. The Eagles have already been linked with Maxwell, a big, long-armed press corner with the ability to play both outside and in the slot. The Seahawks will have to pay if they expect to keep Maxwell. He is Rotoworld's No. 1 free-agent corner.

Jets named Kacy Rodgers their defensive coordinator.

If the Dolphins were smart, they would've ousted Kevin Coyle and made Rodgers their defensive coordinator. Instead, Rodgers departs to re-team with Todd Bowles. Both are Bill Parcells disciples. One of the top D-Line gurus in football, Rodgers coached up Olivier Vernon, Cam Wake, and Jared Odrick in Miami, while getting career-best years from Randy Starks and Paul Soliai.

Citing nearly 20 Browns sources, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Pat McManamon report Johnny Manziel exhibited a "year-long pattern" of lacking commitment and preparation to football and a "continued commitment to nightlife" during his rookie year.

One player called Manziel a "100 percent joke." Team security reportedly found Manziel "drunk off his a--" the morning before the Browns' season finale. He was fined for missing a treatment for his injured hamstring and spent the Week 17 loss to Baltimore in Cleveland's locker room. During his first NFL start, "Several sources said Manziel either didn't know the plays in the huddle or didn't call them correctly." Sources also told Fowler and McManamon that since-departed OC Kyle Shanahan preferred Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Savage to Manziel as a 2014 draft prospect. Fowler and McManamon claim Manziel still has some "support in the (Browns') building," though it's mostly "on the business side."

The NFL issued a statement Friday on "DeflateGate," saying it's been determined that footballs used by the Patriots in the second half of Sunday's AFC Championship Game were properly inflated, but footballs used by the Patriots in the first half were "under-inflated."

The investigation is being led by Ted Wells and Jeff Pash. Wells and Pash have interviewed 40 people, and their investigation remains "ongoing" with no timetable for a resolution. Per the initial statement, "The goals of the investigation will be to determine the explanation for why footballs used in the game were not in compliance with the playing rules and specifically whether any noncompliance was the result of deliberate action." The Patriots have publicly denied altering footballs at any point before or during last Sunday's game.

Colts GM Ryan Grigson declined to commit to Trent Richardson being back with the team in 2015.

This comes as a surprise to no one. Grigson also confirmed the Colts suspended Richardson for two games prior to the AFC Championship game loss to the Patriots because of "personal reasons." He wasn't going to play even if the Colts made it to the Super Bowl. Richardson is in real danger of losing his roster spot despite a fully-guaranteed $3.184 million salary. The Colts would be paying him just to make him disappear. Richardson needs to hit the gym this offseason.

Saints owner Tom Benson is being sued by his daughter and grandchildren after announcing Thursday that he planned to change his will to leave the team to his wife.

The Saints have long been slated to be left to Benson's daughter and grandchildren, but that abruptly changed Thursday when Benson announced he intended to leave the team to his wife of 10 years. The daughter and grandchildren's lawsuit alleges that Benson — who is 87 — is no longer mentally competent, and being manipulated by his wife. At stake is a fortune of more than $2 billion, which includes the NBA's Pelicans as well as the Saints. The drama has reportedly been brewing behind the scenes for some time.

49ers hired TEs coach Eric Mangini as defensive coordinator.

The ex-head coach of the Jets and Browns, Mangini is pulling a Hue Jackson, going from position coach to coordinator on the same team. An overwrought Bill Belichick disciple, Mangini has a 33-47 career record as head coach, but his defensive bonafides have never been questioned. He should be a good defensive boss for Jim Tomsula, and still has a great base of talent to work with even though GM Trent Baalke has done a poor job of restocking the cupboard in recent years. The man formerly known as "Mangenius" is undoubtedly angling for one last shot at being a head coach. This is a nice launching pad.

Tom Brady denied any wrongdoing stemming from allegations of football deflation by the Patriots at his Thursday press conference.

"I have no knowledge of wrongdoing," said a shaken Brady, who conceded he's disappointed the ball-deflation allegations have taken away from New England's on-field success. Brady said he saw 24 footballs before Sunday's AFC title game, and all of them "felt perfect." Brady's presser comes one day after Patriots coach Bill Belichick flatly denied altering footballs in the playoffs. The NFL's investigation remains ongoing.

49ers hired Tony Sparano as tight ends coach.

He's succeeding Eric Mangini, who will likely either be hired as the Raiders or 49ers' defensive coordinator. Sparano's background is mostly in coaching offensive lines, though he did work as a tight ends coach with the Redskins, Jaguars, and Cowboys in the early 2000s. The 49ers need to get more out of Vance McDonald and Derek Carrier. They may cut Vernon Davis.

Coach Bill Belichick said he has "no explanation" for why 11-of-12 Patriots game balls were inflated significantly less than the league requires during the AFC Championship Game.

In a surreal press conference that lasted 11 minutes, Belichick faced the media like an accused villain. He repeatedly said he had no knowledge whatsoever about deflated footballs and didn't hear about the investigation until Monday morning. "In my entire coaching career, never talked to any player or staff member about football air pressure," Belichick said. Of course, Roger Goodell has repeatedly made clear that ignorance isn't an excuse. Now the buck gets passed to Tom Brady, who Belichick said would be able to answer questions about how he likes his footballs. Brady is scheduled to address the media at 4pm ET Thursday. Expect him to claim no knowledge as well, leaving the guillotine to drop on a ball boy aka The Lone Gunman.
