Pierre Garcon caught 11 passes for 144 yards with one touchdown in Sunday's 24-23 Week 16 loss to the Cowboys.

The Cowboys had no answer for Garcon as he ran free on quick slants and short crossing routes all day long. And with the highly accurate Kirk Cousins at the helm, Garcon was able to catch passes in stride and make big YAC plays. He now has 107 catches on the year, breaking the Redskins' single-season franchise record set by Art Monk -- who had 106 grabs in 1984. The underrated yet dominant Garcon is going to add to that milestone in the Week 17 finale against the Giants.

Rams claimed QB Case Keenum off waivers from the Texans.

Waived by Houston, which decided to go with Ryan Mallett and rookie Tom Savage behind Ryan Fitzpatrick, 26-year-old Keenum is a natural fit behind Shaun Hill in St. Louis with a similar skill set. Keenum is sneaky athletic and willing to throw into tight windows, though he was slow to learn the Texans' offense last year. If 34-year-old Hill's performance goes south, we wouldn't be at all surprised to see Keenum make starts in the Gateway City. Keenum finished 2013 with a 9:6 TD-to-INT ratio across eight starts, though he completed only 54.2 percent of his throws and fumbled six times, losing two. We'd still expect Keenum to pass Austin Davis on the depth chart within a month or so.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll revealed Monday that Christine Michael (hamstring) is still "banged up."

Michael missed Seattle's preseason finale with a hamstring injury, and his Week 1 availability sounds doubtful with the Seahawks opening up on Thursday night. As to C-Mike's status, Carroll said he'll "figure it out" later in the week. It's worth noting Michael battled injuries throughout his college career. He is currently the Seahawks' No. 3 tailback behind Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera remains "confident" Cam Newton (ribs) will be ready for Sunday's opener.

Newton will wear a flak jacket against the Bucs. It's something Michael Vick and Tony Romo, among others, have done before at quarterback. Newton's reps should be limited in practice this week, but he'll be ready to rock versus Tampa.

The Miami Herald believes it's "clear" Knowshon Moreno is the Dolphins' lead back over Lamar Miller.

Reporter Armando Salguero believes it's true "even if Miller is the player being introduced with the starters." Salguero came to the conclusion after parsing OC Bill Lazor's Monday presser. "(I) feel very good about (Miller's) ability to be productive," Lazor said. "But if you're talking about the preseason games, his production needs to improve." We might not get a definitive answer until Sunday's opener against the Patriots, but all signs point toward a committee. It's just a matter of who is the lead back, and who's the COP.

Profootballtalk reports suspended Browns WR Josh Gordon is still considering a lawsuit.

Per PFT, the decision will come "in the next day or two." Any lawsuit would reportedly include a request to "block the suspension pending the outcome of the case." A source previously told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that Gordon would have "no shot" at having his ban overturned in court. He's still extremely unlikely to take the field in 2014. He's a wasted roster spot in re-draft leagues.

Jaguars second-round WR Allen Robinson (hamstring) remained limited in Monday's practice, but said he'll "definitely" be ready for Sunday's opener against the Eagles.

Specifically, Robinson said he'd be ready for a "role" against Philly. That means his snaps will be limited after missing the entire preseason, but Robinson should get up to speed in a hurry. For now, he's the Jags' No. 4 receiver, but he should eventually pass UDFA Allen Hurns.

Titans signed K Ryan Succop, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year contract.

Succop was released by the Chiefs on Saturday in a cost-cutting measure, though he was just 22-of-28 (78.6 percent) on field-goal attempts last season. 80 percent is considered the "acceptable" threshold. For his career, Succop is an 81-percent kicker. He'll be a lower-tier fantasy option for the Titans' unpredictable offense.

Rob Gronkowski (knee) admitted he won't play every snap in Sunday's Week 1 game against the Dolphins.

Gronk is still less than eight months removed from surgery to repair his ACL and MCL, so just being active on Sunday is a major accomplishment. "Definitely not [playing] every single snap. But just get out there, get my feet wet, whatever we game-plan this week, will be good," he said. Note that Gronk only played on 59.4 percent of the snaps in his first three games off an elbow injury last year. He still produced 19 catches, 284 yards and one touchdown during that span.

Wes Welker (concussion) is participating in Monday's practice.

Welker was spotted in his helmet and doing non-contact individual drills with his teammates. As long as he emerges from this workout without symptoms and passes a few more tests, he'll be cleared for full-contact practice by Wednesday or Thursday. That would put Welker on track to play in Sunday night's showdown against the Colts despite suffering three concussions in his last 10 games.

Coach Tom Coughlin said Odell Beckham (hamstring) may still be 2-3 weeks away from playing in a game.

A visibly frustrated Coughlin is tired of talking about Beckham, who has barely practiced since initially suffering this hamstring injury during OTAs. "Let's let the kid get better. Focus on players who will play," Coughlin said. Jerrel Jernigan will hold down the No. 3 job until Beckham can get healthy and up to speed.

The new Bucs coaching staff has reportedly changed their opinion on Doug Martin as a pass-catcher.

The Lovie Smith regime came to Tampa thinking they needed to find a passing back, which led to the selection of Charles Sims at No. 69 overall. But that opinion "changed in a big way after Martin used training camp and the preseason to show his versatility." Now Sims (ankle) is out until at least Week 10, Martin is shaping up as a three-down back and the Bucs have added a nasty run-blocker in Logan Mankins. The Muscle Hamster's arrow is pointing up.
