Jaguars signed QB Matt Scott, S Sherrod Martin, TE Brandon Barden, WR Chad Bumphis, RB Shaun Chapas, OT DeMarcus Love, DE Will Pericak, DE D'Aundre Reed, WR Jabin Sambrano, and C Matt Stankiewitch to reserve/future contracts.

Scott was thought to have a chance to be a mid-round pick in last April's draft, but he fell out of it completely and spent the entire season on Jacksonville's practice squad. Martin started 49 games for the Panthers from 2009-2012 and is 29 years old.

Jimmy Graham caught 7-of-7 targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in New Orleans' Week 9 win over the Panthers.

Both the catches and yards were Graham's most since Week 4. The nice night came despite the fact that Graham appeared to tweak his troublesome shoulder multiple times, though he never checked out of the game. Graham beat blanket coverage from CB Melvin White on his one-yard score, and also dealt with supremely-physical attention from LB Thomas Davis. With half the season now in the books, Graham is on pace for 92/1,036/10 despite playing at less than 100 percent for the better part of a month. The yardage rate should pick up.

Mark Ingram rushed 30 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns in New Orleans' Week 9 win over the Panthers, adding a 10-yard reception.

Ingram got the ball on New Orleans' first two plays from scrimmage and never looked back, becoming the first Saint since Deuce McAllister in 2006 to notch back-to-back 100-yard days on the ground. The 3.3 YPC was mildly disappointing against a Panthers team surrendering a league-worst 5.2 yards per carry, but Ingram was dialed up in a host of predictable running situations. He now has 54 carries for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the past five days. Ingram has a tough Week 10 matchup in the 49ers, but will be a locked-in RB2.
Oct 30 - 11:38 PM

Drew Brees completed 24-of-34 passes for 297 yards, one touchdown and one interception in New Orleans' 28-10, Week 9 win over the Panthers, also scoring a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Brees also lost a fumble. Brees started out shaky, with both of his turnovers coming in the game's first 10 minutes. He settled in quickly, however, and turned in a typically methodical performance, spreading the ball around to eight different pass catchers as Mark Ingram notched 30 rushing attempts. The Saints are now 4-4, with four of their next five games coming at home. With half the season in the books, Brees is on pace for 5,048 yards and 30 passing scores. The 5K campaign would be his fifth, and fourth straight.

Profootballtalk reports Panthers RE Greg Hardy's trial for domestic abuse has been postponed until after the season.

The trial had been set for mid-November. It's unclear if or how this will affect Hardy's indefinite suspension, though NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports it means Hardy won't play this season. He'll surely argue that he should be allowed to suit up as his legal situation plays out. The Panthers' defense has desperately missed Hardy's dominating presence off the edge.

Trent Richardson (hamstring) is absent from the Week 9 injury report.

It means he's all-systems-go for Monday's game against the Giants after being limited to emergency duties in Week 8. Speaking Thursday, Colts coach Chuck Pagano said he planned to employ his standard two-back attack of Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw in New York. That should mean 15-20 touches for T-Rich, and looks around the goal-line. Richardson is an RB2 for Week 9 despite his 3.5 YPC.
Oct 30 - 5:56 PM

Ronnie Hillman (shoulder) remained limited on Thursday, but is expected to handle his "normal workload" in Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Hillman is just dealing with a tweak. His status is not a concern for Week 9. Going up against a Patriots defense surrendering the fifth most fantasy points to running backs in a game that has major shootout potential, Hillman is a legit RB1 with six teams on bye.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bengals believe Giovani Bernard (hip) is "(going to) be ok."

Rapsheet's tweet is devoid of other context, so it's unclear if that means "ok" for Week 9, or simply the long run. Bernard sat out Wednesday and Thursday's practices, and the Bengals haven't offered any meaningful updates on his status. For now, he should be considered unlikely to suit up against the Jaguars. That would leave backup Jeremy Hill as a clear top-20 option.
Oct 30 - 4:35 PM

The Colts are unsure if Reggie Wayne (elbow) will return for Monday's game against the Giants.

"(It's) too early in week (to decide)," were the words of coach Chuck Pagano after Thursday's practice. Wayne was a "DNP," but it was officially for "rest" purposes. We'll see how truthful that designation was when the Colts practice on Friday. A "limited" session would put Wayne on track to return after missing Week 8.
Oct 30 - 4:04 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Panthers made "no progress" on a long-term deal with Cam Newton before the season started, but that both sides "hope to do it this offseason."

Newton is signed through 2015 after the Panthers exercised his fifth-year option. Per Rapsheet, Newton is not open to a "pay as you go" style extension, à la Colin Kaepernick. Rapsheet considers Matt Ryan's six-year, $113.75 million deal a "ballpark" estimate of what Newton will be looking for.
Oct 30 - 3:34 PM

Doug Martin (ankle) remained sidelined at Bucs practice Thursday, but has shed his walking boot.

The fact that Martin has shed his boot offers a glimmer of hope for his Week 9 status, but most signs point toward him sitting out against the Browns. Reporter Greg Auman believes Bobby Rainey will lead the Bucs in touches in Martin's potential absence, but that rookie Charles Sims could earn a much bigger role going forward if he performs well. We'd consider Rainey a borderline RB2, and Sims a wait-and-see RB3.
Oct 30 - 2:08 PM

Owen Daniels (knee) was downgraded to "DNP" on Thursday.

Daniels was shockingly "limited" on Wednesday after getting his knee scoped last Friday, but isn't a good bet to suit up for Sunday night's game against the Steelers. Even if the Ravens try to make it appears as if he'll play, he can't be relied on as a TE1 at far less than 100 percent health.
