Ravens signed RB Cierre Wood to a reserve/future contract.

A "name" undrafted free agent, Wood was cut loose by the Texans in October after allegedly smoking marijuana in the team hotel the night before a road game. He spent the final two months of the year on the Patriots' practice squad. Wood averaged 5.5 yards on 35 preseason carries. He'll compete for one of the Ravens' final roster spots in next summer's camp.

Speaking Thursday, Vikings GM Rick Spielman said "everybody's hoping" Teddy Bridgewater (knee) can resume his career.

The Cardinals and Cowboys will play in the 2017 Hall-of-Fame Game.

The league's annual preseason opener will take place on a Thursday (Aug. 3) as opposed to its traditional Sunday this year. The game, of course, was canceled last summer because of an unplayable field. We can only assume The Shield has since pumped some money into the Canton stadium. Carson Palmer and Dak Prescott will play a few snaps before giving way to the bottom of the 90-men rosters.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports the Broncos will not pick up LT Russell Okung's four-year, $48-million option.

Okung would have landed $19.5 million guaranteed including an $8-million roster bonus if the Broncos had picked up the option. The decision makes Okung a free agent, although the Broncos may look to bring him back on a deal which guarantees less and pays less up front. That might be easier said than done in a paper thin left tackle market of which, even coming off a down year, Okung is now near the top.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports Ryan Tannehill (knee) is "healed" and will be ready for OTAs.

Tannehill did not require surgery to repair the partially torn ACL and sprained MCL which ended his season in Week 14. Salguero reports the team could manage his workload, but he will be good to go for the "entire offseason program." Coming off one of his best seasons, another full offseason in coach Adam Gase's system could allow Tannehill to take another step forward.

MMQB's Albert Breer wrote his "sense" is new Bills OC Rick Dennison wants to keep Tyrod Taylor.

Dennison was the Ravens quarterbacks coach in 2014, Taylor's final year in Baltimore, so he knows the quarterback well. Despite Dennison's desire to keep Tyrod, Breer correctly points out "cash will be the deciding factor." Taylor is due $30.75 million guaranteed over two years if the Bills pick up his option.

MMQB's Albert Breer was told impending free agent A.J. Bouye will be the "clear king" of the cornerback class.

The fourth corner on his own team this time last year, injuries gave Bouye the opportunity to show what he can do, and he did not disappoint. Now the 25-year-old is an ascending star heading to the open market with plenty of teams desperate for corner help. It will not be surprising if he betters the five-year, $62.5-million deal Janoris Jenkins landed last March.

MMQB's Albert Breer mentions Florida State RB Dalvin Cook's "off-field questions" as a reason he may not pass LSU's Leonard Fournette to be this year's first running back drafted.

Breer didn't elaborate, but it's not the first time "off-field issues" have been mentioned regarding Cook. Cook was suspended for allegedly punching a woman outside a Tallahassee bar in 2015 -- it wasn't caught on video like Joe Mixon -- and Cook was also cited in 2014 for leaving three pitbull puppies chained up by their necks in an unsheltered area, resulting in a $550 fine. Cook apparently had two more non-detailed run-ins with police at Florida State.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Eagles will retain LT Jason Peters.

The Eagles have some cap concerns and needs at high-priced positions, so there had been some speculation they would move on from the veteran tackle or at the very least ask him to take a pay cut. Neither option appears like it will happen, so Peters will make $10.7 million in salary and bonuses to protect Carson Wentz's blindside in 2017.

ESPN's Michael Rothstein wrote the Lions "might end up overhauling" the tight end position this offseason.

Eric Ebron has improved each of his three years in the league, but Detroit will have to decide whether to pick up his fifth-year option this offseason, and they could use more help at the position either way. The Lions can make their "big splash" by targeting a top-of-the-market option like Martellus Bennett in free agency or using a first-round pick on an elite prospect like Alabama's O.J. Howard or Miami's David Njoku. Either way, it will not be surprising if Ebron faces competition for targets come September.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports there is "no guarantee" Jay Cutler plays in 2017.

"He's one of several veterans who are still considering whether they want to play," Rapoport continued. "It is a consideration. It's something he's confided in people." Cutler will be 34 in April and has dealt with several injuries the last couple seasons including the torn labrum he is currently rehabbing, but it would be shocking if he decided to retire. This is almost certainly a ploy to scare away any potential trading partners, forcing the Bears to release him and allowing him to pick his next destination. With so many quarterback-needy teams, Cutler should have a healthy market once he is cut.

Derek Carr (broken leg) told LT Donald Penn he is "almost 100 percent."

Penn relayed the news while sharing an NFL Network set with David Carr, who added his brother plans to get in a "full offseason." Perhaps the Raiders take it slow with their franchise quarterback during OTAs, but there is no reason to worry about his availability. Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Carr should land a long-term extension before the start of the season.
