DeSean Jackson said Monday he wants the Eagles to renegotiate his contract and give him a raise.

In March of 2012, Jackson signed a five-year, $48.2 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed. He's owed $10.25 million in 2014 base salary and a total of $30.5 million in salary plus workout bonuses over the next three years. But as he comes off a career-best season, he wants more. "I definitely feel like it's deserving," Jackson said. "I'm proven in this league, and after this past year, went out there, no distractions, and just really put it all in for my team and went out there and had a lot of success, so we’ll see how it goes." D-Jax has absolutely no leverage here. He's being compensated at a rate in line with the elite players at his position and is under contract through 2016. Skipping OTAs and minicamps won't do anyone any good.

C.J. Prosise suffered a strained groin in pregame warmups ahead of the second preseason game.

He's missed the past two practices, being limited to light running drills on a side field with trainers. Prosise working off to the side and missing practice has been a common sight in his year-plus with the team. And OL coach/run-game coordinator Tom Cable admitted the team is starting to get concerned Prosise will never be able to stay healthy for long periods of time. "I think we all are," Cable said. Prosise has a laundry list of injuries dating back to college.

Browns released DL Desmond Bryant.

Bryant was in the final year of his contract. The move saves the Browns $3 million against the cap. It was pretty obvious Bryant wasn't long for the team after he played into the fourth quarter with deep reserves in Monday night's second preseason game. Entering his age-32 season, Bryant missed all of last year with a torn pectoral. He should be able to land another shot.

Odell Beckham's MRI confirmed a sprained ankle.

The Giants haven't revealed all the details surrounding his injury, though it appears Beckham was able to avoid the dreaded high-ankle sprain. "We'll take it day by day and see how they respond to treatment," said coach Ben McAdoo, who was referring to both Beckham and Brandon Marshall (shoulder). Both players were injured in Monday night's preseason game against Cleveland.

Mike Gillislee (hamstring) returned as a full participant at Tuesday's practice.

A hamstring injury has kept Gillislee out for the past two weeks but he's ready to roll and eager to get his reps in with just 16 days until the regular season. There are no assigned roles in New England's crowded backfield, making it a difficult situation to assess for fantasy purposes. With that said, a healthy Gillislee would probably be the favorite for goal-line work in Foxboro, which gives him considerable upside.

Ty Montgomery (leg) returned to practice on Tuesday.

He's back after missing the last week with a lower leg injury and expects to suit up for Saturday's preseason game in Denver. The former wide receiver is locked in as the Packers' lead back.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Giants aren't concerned about Brandon Marshall's shoulder injury.

Rapsheet was told "he'll be fine" while adding that the Giants have "no worries." Marshall bowed out of Monday's preseason game with a shoulder issue but his X-rays came back negative. It looks like the G-Men dodged a couple of major injury bullets with Marshall and Odell Beckham both escaping Monday night's game with only minor ailments.

Matt Forte (hamstring) returned to a full practice on Tuesday.

He hadn't practiced since late last month. Forte will obviously be ready for Week 1 and hopes to take part in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants. Stuck in a committee with Bilal Powell and playing for one of the league's worst offenses, the 31-year-old's fantasy arrow is pointing down.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano said there's still no "timeline" for Andrew Luck's (shoulder) return.

Per Stephen Holder of the Indy Star, the Colts have just two practices next week and four the week after before heading off to Los Angeles for Week 1 against the Rams. That means that even if Luck is activated off PUP in the next week, he'll have just six practices to shake off the rust before the regular season gets underway. Simply put, Luck is running out of time. Mike Chapell of IndySportsCentral "doubts" Luck will be ready for Week 1 while suggesting Week 3 against Cleveland as a more realistic timeframe. None of this comes as good news for fantasy owners invested in Luck, T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief or Jack Doyle.

Cardinals activated ILB Deone Bucannon (ankle) from the active/PUP list.

He's not ready to resume practicing but has been cleared to join the team for walkthroughs. The 2014 first-rounder still aims to be ready for Week 1.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said LeGarrette Blount will be "a big part of our offense."

"The guy's a beast of a runner," the coach added. Despite preseason struggles, reported "weight issues," and rumblings about his roster spot, it looks like the coach plans to enter the season with Blount as his starter and short-yardage back. Perhaps that changes if Wendell Smallwood shows well coming off an injury this week, but Blount remains the best fantasy bet for now.
Aug 22 - 12:26 PM

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Tom Savage "is our starter."

"He's had a good camp," O'Brien added. It is not a surprise after Savage looked good in the second preseason game, but Deshaun Watson brings playmaking ability the offense sorely needs. The rookie is going to make starts at some point this season.
