Browns hired Bills DC Mike Pettine as head coach.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer broke the news, and the Browns confirmed it moments later. "Mike is the epitome of what we want Browns to be," owner Jimmy Haslam said in a statement. "Tough, aggressive and innovative, with a blue-collar, team-first mentality." Pettine has zero head-coaching experience above the high-school level, but has been an NFL coordinator since 2009. A Rex Ryan product, Pettine oversaw one of the league's most aggressive, havoc-creating defenses his lone year in Buffalo. He'll be the Browns' third head coach since Haslam took control of the team in 2012. Cleveland's search was messy, and full of public rejection, but they've backed into a strong hire. That being said, it's absolutely critical Pettine makes the right hire at offensive coordinator to oversee the Browns' broken, in limbo offense.

Dolphins waived MLB Rey Maualuga.

The Dolphins are cutting ties with Maualuga after an overnight arrest in Miami. He missed the first month of the season due to conditioning issues, but had been a semi-regular starter the last six weeks. Maualuga is going to struggle to resurface as a 30-year-old with off-field baggage. Miami will move forward with Mike Hull as their middle linebacker.

Tyler Eifert (back, injured reserve) recently underwent surgery to remove a cyst on his knee.

Eifert is on injured reserve because of a lingering back injury which required a third surgery October, but he also was dealing with a knee issue earlier this year. The tight end will hope the procedures fix both issues, but this is yet another injury question mark as Eifert heads into free agency this spring. Despite his proven ability to score touchdowns, he will likely have to settle for a prove-it deal.

Giants added Sterling Shepard (illness) to the injury report as questionable.

Being added this late in the week is a concern, but players usually play through illnesses. The good news is the Giants kick at 1 ET, so we should know Shepard's status early. If he plays, Shepard will a must-start in a great matchup against the Chiefs.

Broncos waived/injured TE A.J. Derby with a shoulder injury.

Derby had already been ruled out for Week 11 with a shoulder injury, and it is apparently a serious issue. He will revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers. Denver promoted TE Austin Traylor from the practice squad in a corresponding move, but Virgil Green should serve as the primary option at tight end.
Nov 18 - 12:16 PM

Ravens activated Danny Woodhead (hamstring) from injured reserve.

The Ravens tried to play coy this week, but Woodhead was always expected back. Ravens OC Marty Mornhinweg said Alex Collins will remain the team's featured back even with Woodhead returning, but that "featured" role has mostly consisted of early-down work. Woodhead should be the primary passing-down back once he is fully ready to go, a role Buck Allen had ridden to the RB21 spot in standard scoring. Woodhead is a risky play this week, but he should be a fantasy starter the rest of the way.
Nov 18 - 11:53 AM

Jaguars activated Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery) from injured reserve.

This was expected with Allen Hurns out with an ankle injury. Westbrook is not expected to play a big role in his first career game, although the receiver predicted he will get 200 yards against the Browns. We will take the under. Westbrook is worth stashing in all leagues, but he is just a desperation fantasy option this week.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor (neck) will miss the rest of the season.

That's back-to-back body blows to the Seattle secondary after Richard Sherman was lost for the season with a torn Achilles' suffered in Week 10 against Arizona. Chancellor was injured late in that same game. 29-year-old Chancellor was having one of his best seasons, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 5 safety, receiving strong marks for both his run defense and pass coverage. FS Earl Thomas is expected back this week. Bradley McDougald will likely replace Chancellor.

Philip Rivers (concussion) has been cleared to start Week 11 against Buffalo.

This was expected after Rivers practiced fully all week. He's passed the concussion protocol and will extend his streak to 186 consecutive games played. Rivers is Rotoworld's No.11-ranked quarterback for Week 11.

The Detroit Free Press considers contract-year DE Ezekiel Ansah a candidate for a one-year, prove-it deal.

Ansah is having a down 2017 and has struggled with injuries the last two seasons. He should still push for $10-plus million on his next deal, but may need to reestablish his value to get multiple years of guaranteed money. Ansah isn't going to be franchised at an $18M salary.
Nov 17 - 7:14 PM

Martellus Bennett (shoulder, hamstring) is questionable for Week 11 against the Raiders.

Bennett looks on track to play after a limited week of practice. He played only seven snaps in his first game with the Patriots, but should see his role increase. Bennett is just a touchdown-dependent streamer.
Nov 17 - 5:07 PM

Dez Bryant (knee) will play in Week 11 against the Eagles.

Bryant was removed from the injury report after practicing fully the last two days. He should play his normal snaps Sunday night, but the Cowboys pass protection is a concern with LT Tyron Smith sidelined. Bryant is more of a midrange WR2 for Week 11.
