Bills re-signed exclusive rights free agents WR Chris Hogan, OL Antoine McClain and FB Frank Summers.

A fourth-year undrafted free agent, Hogan appeared in all 16 games last season, catching the first 10 passes of his career. A slot receiver, Hogan will have an inside track to a 53-man roster spot in training camp.

Chargers CB Jason Verrett has been diagnosed with a torn labrum in his shoulder.

Verrett, the first-round rookie who has been excellent opposite Brandon Flowers, is out 2-3 weeks. After that, he'll be reevaluated with surgery an option if inflammation doesn't go down. It's a bit troubling as Verrett also had a medical red flag on him during the draft process after a labrum repair. The Chargers defense is turning into one we'd attack more often than shy away from when evaluating matchups.

RB Trent Richardson (hamstring) and CB Vontae Davis (knee) are practicing Thursday.

Richardson was active in Week 8, but only as an emergency back behind Ahmad Bradshaw and Boom Herron. This week, he's on track for a much bigger role in Monday night's game against the Giants. Richardson was averaging 17.1 touches per game through the first seven weeks. Davis' ability to practice is bad news for Eli Manning and the Giants' wideouts, as Davis has emerged as a legit dominator on the perimeter.

Coach Jason Garrett said Thursday he's "certainly" optimistic Tony Romo (back) can play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Romo did not participate in the Thursday morning walkthrough and is unlikely to practice much -- if at all - this week. However, he doesn't have any structural damage in his back and we've seen him play through all kinds of pain before, often taking pre-game injections. Ultimately, owners should expect a game-time call ahead of the 1pm ET matchup against a leaky Cardinals secondary.
Oct 30 - 11:42 AM

Rashad Jennings (knee) will not play in Monday's game against the Colts.

Jennings rehab from a Week 5 MCL sprain is not going as expected -- he hasn't even resumed practicing yet. We'll consider him questionable for Week 10. In the meantime, rookie Andre Williams will try to rebound from two ineffective and disappointing starts prior to the bye. Showing a lack of vision and a tendency to run to contact, Williams will only be a borderline RB2.

Bucs beat writer Greg Auman sees 10-plus touches for Charles Sims (ankle) Sunday.

It sounds like a lot for a rookie that has been on IR/return all season, but it speaks to the kind of role the Bucs want him to have. Doug Martin (ankle) is in a walking boot and highly questionable, possibly leaving Sims and Bobby Rainey as the top-two backs against the Browns' No. 30 run defense Sunday. "There's no doubt, when (Sims) is ready to go, he will give us a spark," coach Lovie Smith said. "I feel pretty confident in saying that."
Oct 30 - 9:47 AM

Darren Sproles (knee) appears ready to return for Sunday's game at Houston.

Sproles, who was limited in practice before sitting out Week 8, is practicing in full this week. He'll be ready for a bit role against the Texans, likely something in the neighborhood of 5-7 touches. It's not a drain on LeSean McCoy's projection at all.
Oct 30 - 9:36 AM

Doctors do not know yet if Dennis Pitta (hip surgery) will play football again.

It's been five weeks since Pitta went under the knife to repair his second dislocated and fractured hip. "In a few months, we'll see how I'm feeling and how things are going, and we'll be able to make some determinations then," he said. Pitta, 29, signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract with $16 million guaranteed in February of this year.

NBC Washington's Dianna Marie Russini reports Robert Griffin III (ankle) will start Week 9 against the Vikings.

Russini has had some good info nuggets and been first on all-things Redskins multiple times this season. RGIII practiced in full on Wednesday, with multiple teammates saying he looked like his old self. But coach Jay Gruden has continued to say they won't rush RGIII back until he's 100 percent healthy and ready. That time appears to be now. Colt McCoy can ride high on his Monday night win over the Cowboys for the next few months. Gruden should name a starter Thursday or Friday. Signs continue to point to it being RGIII.
Oct 29 - 4:59 PM

Justin Forsett said he has a "minor" ankle injury and plans to play Week 9 against the Steelers.

Forsett was held out of practice Wednesday. We'd like to see him return to at least a limited session on Thursday before feeling comfortable with him for Week 9. Players always tend to be more optimistic on their own injuries, so owners need to keep an eye on Forsett. Lorenzo Taliaferro would be next man up.
Oct 29 - 3:55 PM

The Union-Tribune San Diego's Michael Gehlken reports that it "appears likely" Ryan Mathews (knee) is held out through the Chargers' Week 10 bye.

Mathews once again didn't practice Wednesday. He's been out since spraining his MCL on September 14. With Branden Oliver playing well in San Diego's backfield, there's no need to rush Mathews. He still needs to be stashed in all fantasy leagues, as there's a good chance he returns to early-down duties.
Oct 29 - 2:21 PM

Doug Martin (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Martin is still in a walking boot after leaving last week's game with an ankle injury. His Week 9 availability is unclear, leaving the potential for Bobby Rainey or Charles Sims to start. Martin's status will be updated again on Thursday.
