According to the NFL Network, talks between the Jets and free agent Michael Vick have hit a "roadblock."

The roadblock is reportedly Vick wanting a starting job. That's interesting, because it suggests either the Jets have a stronger commitment to Geno Smith than they've let on, or Vick doesn't want to fight for snaps. If Vick thinks he's going to be handed a starting gig at this point in his career without competing for it, he's kidding himself. Reporter Kim Jones says the two sides could revisit a deal in the future. Right now, Vick's best landing spot looks like the rudderless Raiders.

Rookie RB James Conner is listed behind Fitzgerald Toussaint on the Steelers' latest depth chart.

With Le'Veon Bell holding out, Toussaint started the Steelers' second preseason game and is listed as the interim starter. Conner is listed on the twos along with Knile Davis. Although Conner totaled 101 yards from scrimmage in his preseason debut last Sunday, he struggled with drive-killing drops and left a ton of yards on the field. He has yet to earn the handcuff role behind Le'Veon.

Jordan Reed (toe) practiced for the first time this summer on Wednesday.

Reed was activated from PUP over the weekend, and this was the Redskins' first practice since their second preseason game. As long as everything goes well for Reed, we could see him get a few snaps over the next two preseason contests. Washington's offense runs through Reed. He's an elite TE1.

Jordan Matthews (chest) returned to individual drills on Wednesday.

Matthews has been out a little over a week after suffering a "chip fracture" in his sternum in his first practice with the team. He probably won't play in the third preseason game, but this puts Matthews well on track for Week 1.

Bears signed LT Charles Leno to a four-year, $38 million extension through 2021.

A 2014 seventh-round pick, Leno has started 29-of-32 games the past two seasons. He was Pro Football Focus' No. 53 tackle out of 76 qualifiers last season after checking in at 49th-of-76 the previous year. The Bears see upside in the soon-to-be 26-year-old and are returning all five starters up front. At $9.5 million per year, Leno is the league's 14th-highest-paid left tackle.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Brock Osweiler is not expected to play in the Browns' third preseason game.

ESPN's Field Yates wonders if the Browns are sitting Osweiler in hopes to trade him. It makes sense. Coach Hue Jackson named rookie DeShone Kizer the starter, and Cleveland has Cody Kessler as a capable No. 2. Osweiler has been brutal this preseason, completing 12-of-22 passes (54.5 percent) for 67 yards (3.05 YPA) and a 0:1 TD:INT ratio with massive accuracy issues. It'll be tough to find someone to take on his $16 million salary. The Browns may be comfortable outright cutting Osweiler.

The Florida Times Union's Ryan O'Halloran "guesses" the Jaguars are shopping Allen Hurns on the trade block.

Hurns has yet to play this preseason despite being relatively healthy. He missed a bunch of action last season due to a severe hamstring strain. GM Dave Caldwell just signed Hurns to a "five-year, $40.6 million" deal last June, but he appears to already be falling out of favor with guys like Marqise Lee playing well last season and rookie Dede Westbrook impressing this summer. Hurns likely wouldn't fetch much in the trade department coming off a really down 2016.

Danny Woodhead has been sidelined at practice this week with a hamstring injury.

Beat writer Jeff Zrebiec wonders whether we'll see Woodhead the remainder of the preseason and at least questions his availability for Week 1. Woodhead has been very quiet through two weeks of the preseason, playing just seven snaps last week, rushing once for two yards and failing to catch either of his two targets from an erratic Ryan Mallett. Woodhead's stock should be more than fine as long as he's healthy and once Joe Flacco (back) gets back under center.

The Tampa Bay Times' Greg Auman expects Charles Sims to operate as the Bucs' passing-game and third-down back this season.

Sims thrived in that role in 2015, finishing as the overall RB17 in PPR formats. Last season, however, Sims appeared in just seven games after a lengthy stint on I.R. with a knee injury. He never looked quite right. While all the attention in the Bucs' backfield has been on Doug Martin and Jacquizz Rodgers for fantasy purposes, Sims also looks to be in line for a contributing role.

Rob Gronkowski has adopted "parts of Tom Brady's diet" while also cutting out alcohol and coffee.

It's unclear what the diet consists of, but Brady has been known as one of the bigger-name NFL players to go heavily vegan. The more notable thing for Gronk is cutting out the beer -- just during the season -- as he's long been the league's lovable party animal. On top of the dietary changes, Gronkowski played in his first preseason game last week since 2012. Now 28, he knew he had to make some changes to prolong his career and stay healthy in the present. If healthy, Gronkowski is a favorite to lead the league in touchdowns.

A source told ESPN Giants reporter Jordan Raanan that it's "not out of the question" that Odell Beckham (ankle) "could miss a week or two of the regular season."

That would seem to be a worst-case scenario. Beckham took a big hit to the leg in Monday's second preseason game. Although he looked fine jogging back to the locker room after the game, OBJ was reportedly "very sore" on Tuesday. (That happens when the adrenaline wears off the next day.) Beckham won't play the final two preseason games. Week 1 against Dallas is the goal.

Coach Hue Jackson named DeShone Kizer the starter for the Browns' third preseason game.

The third preseason game is the dress rehearsal for Week 1, so it's Kizer's job to lose. "He has made a lot of progress by investing the time necessary to learn our offense, working hard to improve on his fundamentals while also effectively moving the offense in preseason games," Jackson said. "This is the next step he needs to take and he deserves this opportunity. He is certainly positioning himself well to earn the starting job heading into the regular season." Through two preseason games, Kizer is 19-of-31 passing for 258 yards and a touchdown, adding 47 yards and a touchdown as a rusher. Brock Osweiler started the previous two exhibitions, but threw an interception and no touchdowns.
