Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington pleaded guilty on Monday to his aggravated assault charge.

Washington was accused of breaking his ex-girlfriend's collarbone in a domestic dispute last May. He'd already been suspended four games to open the 2013 season at the time, although that was for substance abuse violations. Still, Washington is certainly at risk of more discipline after a guilty plea to a serious charge. He will be sentenced on April 23. When available, Washington is a high-impact blitzer and run defender in the Navorro Bowman mold.

NFL Network's Mike Silver reports the Falcons are negotiating a five-year extension with Devonta Freeman that would make Freeman "one of the NFL's highest-paid backs."

Freeman took out a $50,000 insurance policy on himself which would pay him $10 million should the Falcons and Freeman not strike a long-term deal and Freeman suffer a severe 2017 injury. Freeman is owed just $1.8 million this year and turned 25 in the offseason. LeSean McCoy currently has the NFL's richest multi-year running back deal at $40 million over five years.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the NFL will not issue an update on discipline for Ezekiel Elliott before next Monday.

The NFL remains undecided on how long to suspend Elliott as it continues its investigations into his two assault accusations, the first of domestic variety and the second involving a nightclub brawl where Zeke was alleged to have broken a man's nose. It's disappointing we will continue to lack clarity on Elliott's availability, especially after owner Jerry Jones stated a decision from the NFL was "imminent" on Thursday.

John Brown may miss up to a week with a quad injury.

He's day to day at this point, but it's a disappointing development after Brown shined throughout the spring and on the first few days of Cardinals camp. Entering his contract year after an illness-ruined 2016, Brown has battled persistent soft-tissue injuries since entering the pros. The Cardinals need to exercise utmost caution while working Brown back into practice.

ESPN Bucs reporter Jenna Laine confirms the team is hoping Jacquizz Rodgers "can step in for Doug Martin these first three games."

Rodgers has mixed in with the first-team offense early in training camp. As Martin is suspended for Weeks 1-3, Rodgers is set up to start against Miami, Chicago, and Minnesota, all defenses that ranked in the bottom half of Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA last year. Rodgers averaged well over 20 touches per game across five starts in 2016. Quizz is a very attractive fantasy pick at his double-digit-round Average Draft Position.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Raiders LT Donald Penn is unhappy with his contract and will not report to training camp.

Entering the last year of a two-year contract, the 34-year-old is due $5.8 million in 2017. There were no rumblings of Penn considering a holdout before Friday, so his absence comes as a mild surprise. Penn remained one of the better blind side protectors in football last season, earning PFF's No. 10 grade out of 76 qualifiers at tackle.

Rams DT Aaron Donald has yet to arrive at training camp.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Rams players were due at camp by 11 AM PST for their conditioning tests, but so far Donald has been a no-show. It's no surprise as Donald has been hinting at a holdout for weeks in hopes of a new contract. The two-time All-Pro surely deserves a raise but the Rams may be hesitant to give him one with two years left on his rookie deal.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Dolphins are expected to let contract-year WR Jarvis Landry play out the final season of his deal.

The writing has been on the wall for this. Owner Stephen Ross and coach Adam Gase have both strongly indicated extending Landry's deal was never a priority, and the Dolphins' run-game emphasis lessens Landry's tactical value as a volume-dependent slot receiver Miami's higher-ups likely view as replaceable. The Fins want to use their high-volume run game to set up more vertical shots to speedsters Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker on the perimeter. The Dolphins may revisit talks with Landry after the season, but they clearly do not value him as a true No. 1 receiver. The Fins never so much as made Landry a contract offer this offseason.

Ravens QB Ryan Mallett was "intercepted at least five times" in Friday's practice, then lost his cool on the field.

Per ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley, Mallett "looked awful" filling in for Joe Flacco (back). Hensley observed two other throws that were nearly picked off, and on his final interception, Mallett "threw his white towel in the air," prompting Terrell Suggs to say, "tell (OC Marty Mornhinweg) to tell Mallett to throw to the guys wearing the purple jerseys (on offense)." The Ravens have been considering signing free agent Colin Kaepernick.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said first-round QB Deshaun Watson is "ahead of schedule" in his development.

A month ago O'Brien said the rookie wasn't "nearly where he needs to be to be a full-time starter." Apparently Watson took that criticism to heart. He's been on a tear since came opened a few days ago, reminding Houston Chronicle beat writer John McClain of a young Warren Moon. Slowly but surely, the Clemson alum is winning O'Brien over. "There’s no doubt he’s ahead of schedule," said O'Brien. "He’s put a lot of time in, and he’s doing a good job." Watson still has ground to make up on projected starter Tom Savage, but he's closing the gap quicker than anyone expected.

Ben Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette he is undecided on continuing his playing career in 2018.

Although Roethlisberger's 2017 offseason retirement considerations weren't taken seriously in the media, several folks around him insist Ben indeed considered calling it quits. Over the past two seasons alone, Roethlisberger has suffered an MCL sprain/bone bruise, mid-foot sprain, concussion, AC sprain with torn ligaments in throwing shoulder, and torn meniscus. Roethlisberger revealed his wife, Ashley, wants him to retire soon, and mentioned "this new study that came out that 90 percent of players’ brains who were studied had CTE." Big Ben turned 35 in March.

Giovani Bernard (ACL) avoided the Bengals' active/PUP list to begin camp.

It means Bernard is ineligible for the reserve/PUP list, and the Bengals anticipate him playing early in the year. Offseason beat writer reports had Gio in danger of missing "the first couple of regular season games," but that hasn't been determined. Bernard's fantasy ADP has tumbled to the extent that he's very much worth a late flier in PPR leagues. Bernard's ceiling remains severely capped by Joe Mixon and Jeremy Hill's presences, however.
