Giants agreed to terms with DE Robert Ayers on a two-year contract.

With Justin Tuck now in Oakland, the Giants were looking for some depth off the edge. They find it in the form of Ayers, a 28-year-old who notched 12 sacks across five seasons as a rotational player for the Broncos. As a solid run defender, he'll push Mathias Kiwanuka and Damontre Moore for snaps opposite Jason Pierre-Paul.

Aaron Jones played 26-of-70 (37 percent) snaps Week 15 against the Panthers.

Jones had not played more than eight snaps since returning from injury, so this was a big step in the correct direction. Jones also out-rushed Jamaal Williams despite seeing seven fewer carries. That said, he will be impossible to trust in a tough matchup against the Vikings in the fantasy Super Bowl.

Ameer Abdullah played 8-of-63 (13 percent) snaps Week 15 against the Bears.

Theo Riddick led the backfield with 33 snaps despite leaving early with a wrist injury, and Tion Green (23 snaps) took over from there. The Lions will not say it, but it is clear Abdullah has been benched, and it looks like Green will be the back to own if Riddick's injury ends up being serious. Abdullah can be sent to the wire in redraft leagues.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots believe Rex Burkhead suffered a sprained knee Week 15 against the Steelers.

Burkhead is also reportedly dealing with a bruise. An MRI on Monday will confirm the diagnosis, but a sprained knee would match reports from Sunday of Burkhead avoiding a serious injury. Still, he is likely done for the regular season. Dion Lewis should handle the bulk of the backfield work with Burkhead sidelined while James White and perhaps even Mike Gillislee could see their roles expand.
Dec 18 - 9:13 AM

Ezekiel Elliott has completed his six-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Elliott is expected to report to the team on Monday, and it would be a shock if he is not back in the lineup against the Seahawks on Christmas Eve. It is great news for a Cowboys team which is still in the playoff hunt and any fantasy teams which managed to survive Elliott's absence. Considering what Todd Gurley did to the Seahawks on Sunday, Elliott could have a big day in his return.
Dec 18 - 8:42 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Rex Burkhead has avoided an ACL tear and serious knee injury.

It sounds like Burkhead and the Patriots have caught another break this Sunday. Per Schefter, Burkhead could miss some time, but it doesn't seem to be something that will keep Burkhead out for an extended period. Burkhead should be okay to return for a playoff run for the 11-3 Patriots. In the meantime, Dion Lewis and James White will handle backfield duties sans Burkhead.
Dec 17 - 9:12 PM

Panthers owner Jerry Richardson has announced he is selling the team after allegations of misconduct surfaced against him on Friday.

The Panthers will be put on the block at the end of the season. In a five-paragraph statement announcing the move, Richardson made no mention of the allegations against him, which include wide-ranging sexual misconduct and the use of a racial slur against a former Panthers scout. Richardson, 81, has owned the Panthers since their founding, and is the only current owner to have actually played in the NFL. It's unclear how voluntary Richardson's decision is. It's quite possible things would have unfolded similarly to the Donald Sterling Clippers fiasco in the NBA had Richardson not agreed to give up the team.
Dec 17 - 7:58 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Antonio Brown has a "partially torn calf muscle."

According to Schefter, Brown is unlikely to play in Week 16, but he is expected back for the postseason. The news obviously does not help owners hoping to use Brown in the fantasy Super Bowl, but it is great news for the Steelers considering how serious the injury looked on the field. With Brown sidelined, both Martavis Bryant and JuJu Smith-Schuster will be worth using against the Texans on Christmas Day.
Dec 17 - 7:47 PM

Marquise Goodwin caught 10-of-13 passes for 114 yards in the 49ers' Week 15 win over the Titans.

The 100-yard game, just the third of Goodwin's career, was his second straight. He's averaging 106 yards in three games with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback. Formerly pegged as a streak route specialist, the former Olympian has been a more versatile player in San Francisco. He's cleared 68 yards in six straight games. Great football, but Goodwin has the toughest of 2017 tests in Jalen Ramsey and the Jaguars next week.
Dec 17 - 7:43 PM

Robert Woods caught 6-of-7 targets for 45 yards and one touchdown in the Rams' 42-7, Week 15 win over the Seahawks.

Woods led all Rams' pass catchers across the board on a day Jared Goff attempted just 21 passes and threw for 120 yards in the easy win. Woods missed the previous three games with a shoulder issue but picked up right where he left off before the injury. Woods' touchdown was a wide-open one-yard hookup on a quick snap at the line. Woods will be a WR2 Week 16 at Tennessee.
Dec 17 - 7:42 PM

Le'Veon Bell rushed 24 times for 117 yards and a touchdown while catching 5-of-6 passes for 48 yards in the Steelers' Week 15 loss to the Patriots.

Bell remains good at football. With Antonio Brown leaving in the second quarter, Bell put the team on his back with run after clock-killing run. He finished the first half with 94 total yards including 47 on a drive which gave Pittsburgh the lead just before the break, and he rushed for another 55 in the third quarter including a three-yard score. Unfortunately, the Steelers gave the win away late, but Bell did all he could. With Brown likely out until the postseason, Bell should be the offensive focal point next week against the Texans.
Dec 17 - 7:36 PM

Jimmy Garoppolo completed 31-of-43 passes for 381 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers' 25-23, Week 15 win over the Titans.

The 300-yard performance was Garoppolo's second straight. He has at least 290 in all three of his starts with the 49ers. This, with Marquise Goodwin as his No. 1 receiver. Per the CBS broadcast booth, he became the first 49ers quarterback since Jeff Garcia in 2000 to have back-to-back 300-yard games. Unreal. Garoppolo is playing genuinely elite football. He gets the ball out blindingly fast, and is not afraid to target tight windows or attempt unorthodox passes. He's playing with confidence that belies his relative lack of regular season experience. Garoppolo has the ultimate Week 16 test in the Jaguars.
