Titans re-signed G/C Chris Spencer.

It was initially reported that Spencer, 32, was viewed as merely a fallback option for the Titans, who had three interior linemen in for visits Wednesday. Instead, GM Ruston Webster goes with a guy he knows. Spencer is purely a backup.

Fox Sports reported Packers WR Randall Cobb will be able to play Week 1.

Cobb injured himself in the third preseason game. A source told Fox Sports all "indicators" are Cobb will be able to play in the regular season opener. With Jordy Nelson (ACL) done for the year, Cobb has a chance to better his career highs in catches (91) and receiving yards (1,287) set last season.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent RB Fred Jackson will meet with the Seahawks on Tuesday.

Rapoport said both sides expect a deal to get done. Cut by the Bills on Monday, Jackson would provide a veteran presence behind starter Marshawn Lynch, his former teammate in Buffalo and a player with whom he is reportedly close. Bringing in Jackson could signal the end of the line for Christine Michael.

MLive's Kyle Meinke said, "Joique Bell remains the Lions' No. 1 tailback — for now, at least."

The for now is important. Bell struggled at the beginning of last season after an unhealthy offseason, and a similar start could see Bell fall behind Ameer Abdullah in the pecking order. For now, though, he still projects as the Week 1 starter in Detroit. Fantasy favorite Zach Zenner is well down the depth chart.

Raiders waived RB Trent Richardson.

Oakland will eat the $600,000 it guaranteed Richardson back in March. We figured the Colts' release of Richardson would serve as a swift kick in the pants for the former No. 3 overall pick, but he ended up reporting to Raiders camp overweight and didn't impress anyone in the organization this preseason, rushing for 42 scoreless yards on 15 carries (2.8 YPC) and breaking one measly tackle. Richardson is running out of chances, but we expect him to get one more.

Rishard Matthews started the Dolphins' third preseason game over Kenny Stills.

Stills battled a calf injury early in camp and missed the first couple weeks of practice in addition to the first preseason game. Across 35 snaps this preseason, Stills has caught 3-of-4 targets for 31 scoreless yards. It's still early, and Stills has gobs of talent, but he needs to stay on the field and start building a rapport with Ryan Tannehill. Jarvis Landry, Greg Jennings, and Matthews started on Saturday, with Stills mixing in behind them. OC Bill Lazor recently praised Matthews.

Patriots waived WR Josh Boyce, WR Jonathan Krause, TE Jimmay Mundine, DL Joe Vellano and LB Dekoda Watson.

A 2013 fourth-rounder, it's the second year in a row Boyce hasn't survived through final cuts. Although Boyce ended up making one 2014 appearance, this should be the end of the line for his time with the Patriots. Boyce has serious speed, but has dealt with injuries, and never got in rhythm with Tom Brady.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell called Week 4 a "realistic" return target for Julius Thomas (hand surgery).

Thomas has already been essentially ruled out for the first three games of the season. It sounds like returning in Week 4 against the Colts would be a best case scenario. Expect Allen Robinson to be a target monster in the meantime, and for Allen Hurns to also see a bump in early-season usage.

DeVante Parker (foot) resumed practicing Monday, and the Dolphins are "quietly hopeful" he'll be ready for Week 1.

Parker's limited session on Monday was his first practice of any kind since his June operation. With only 13 days to get in game shape, Parker will undoubtedly be on a snap count for the opener, but he could be worked into the offense quickly. Parker remains worth stashing as a WR4/5.

Montee Ball appears to be in danger of losing his roster spot in Denver.

He won't be a part of Denver's first cuts, but he might not make it when the Broncos trim to 53 this upcoming weekend. Ball is squarely behind C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman, while Juwan Thompson is making a run to be Denver's No. 3 back. "Special teams is a big factor with him and Juwan," coach Gary Kubiak said. "We'll see. I'm fine with Montee." If Ball were cut on Saturday, he would go through the NFL's waivers process. "Right now it's C.J., Ronnie, then Juwan, then me," Ball acknowledged. "So I guess just what it is."

The league has upheld Martavis Bryant's four-game suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy.

Dominating the preseason after his hot finish to 2014, Bryant will rejoin the Steelers in Week 5. Bryant's initial role will depend on how Markus Wheaton fares in his absence, but he's worth stashing on your bench as a potential/likely stretch-run WR3.

The Bills have confirmed Tyrod Taylor will be their starting quarterback.

"It all comes down to the explosiveness Tyrod brings to us," were the words of coach Rex Ryan. Taylor is certainly explosive, but has lacked passing finesse going back to his days at Virginia Tech. He'll be someone the Bills try to hide, hoping for rushing yards and big plays. Taylor's legs put him on the QB2 radar, and leave him as an intriguing early-season possibility in daily leagues.
