Updating an earlier item, the Kansas City Star reports extension talks between the Chiefs and Alex Smith have been "almost nonexistent."

Terez A. Paylor's report comes on the same day ESPN's Ed Werder reported there are "substantial differences" and a "sense of pessimism" between the sides. Smith has proven to be a quarterback teams can win with, but has always lacked franchise-caliber tools. Now on the wrong side of 30, Smith is angling for one last big payday, but is almost certainly vastly overvaluing his wares.

Carson Wentz completed 36-of-60 passes for 308 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions in the Eagles' 32-14, Week 13 loss to the Bengals.

Dec 4 - 4:13 PM

Jordan Howard had 32 carries for 117 yards and three touchdowns in Chicago's Week 13 win over the 49ers.

Dec 4 - 4:10 PM

Todd Gurley rushed 11 times for 38 yards and caught 2-of-3 targets for nine yards in the Rams' Week 13 loss to the Patriots.

New England has played shutdown run defense all year, and Sunday was no different against a Rams running game that hasn't gotten going all year. Gurley has now reached 100 total yards in 1-of-12 games. Even against the Falcons' leaky run defense in Week 14, Gurley will be nothing more than a low-end RB2 play.
Dec 4 - 4:10 PM

Julio Jones caught 7-of-9 targets for 113 yards in the Falcons' Week 13 loss to the Chiefs.

Dec 4 - 4:07 PM

Andy Dalton completed 23-of-31 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals' 32-14, Week 13 win over the Eagles.

It was arguably Dalton's best passing performance of the season, as his 130.0 rating was a new season-best. His two touchdowns went to Brandon LaFell in the back of the end zone from eight yards out, and then Dalton threw a perfectly-lofted 13-yard score to Tyler Eifert for his second score. This Eagles pass defense has been picked apart in recent weeks and isn't anywhere as elite as some metrics would make it look. Dalton will be on the streaming radar next week at the Browns.
Dec 4 - 4:07 PM

Jared Goff completed 14-of-32 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Rams' Week 13 loss to the Patriots.

He took four sacks and didn't lead the Rams to a touchdown drive until deep garbage time, capped by a short score to Kenny Britt. Goff's pocket presence reminded of Blaine Gabbert in Foxboro, and the Rams' assertion that Goff "wasn't ready" a month ago has held strong since he took the reins from Case Keenum. Indeed, Keenum is a better option at this point. Goff will be a poor two-quarterback-league play in Week 14 against the Falcons.
Dec 4 - 4:07 PM

Tom Brady completed 33-of-46 passes for 269 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' Week 13 win over the Rams.

This was good for career win No. 201, making Brady the NFL's most winningnest quarterback of all time. The Patriots picked apart the Rams with quick passes and an early 43-yard score by LeGarrette Blount, in addition to four Stephen Gostkowski field goals. Missing Rob Gronkowski (back surgery), Brady has tough upcoming matchups against the Ravens and Broncos. Brady's fantasy upside will be severely diminished the rest of the way. New England faces Baltimore on Monday Night Football in Week 14.
Dec 4 - 4:04 PM

Matt Ryan completed 22-of-34 passes for 297 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Falcons' 29-28, Week 13 loss to the Chiefs.

Ryan was two doomed by two bad throws. Eric Berry jumped the route on Ryan's interception, housing it for a pick six. Berry then jumped the route on a late two-point conversion, returning it for two points and the difference in a back-and-forth game. Both throws should have never been delivered. Ryan was also hampered by a gimpy Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, both of whom were banged up late. Ryan lost LT Jake Matthews to a knee injury earlier in the game. Despite the tough day, Ryan should bounce back for a big game against the pathetic Rams in Week 14.
Dec 4 - 4:02 PM

Steelers declared K Chris Boswell, TE Xavier Grimble, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, QB Zach Mettenberger, OT Brian Mihalik, RB Daryl Richardson and RB DeAngelo Williams inactive for Week 13 against the Giants.

Boswell is out with an abdomen injury. He tried to give it a go in pregame warmups but didn't feel right. Randy Bullock, who was signed earlier this week, will handle the kicking duties for Pittsburgh. Boswell was the only Steelers player listed as questionable this week.
Dec 4 - 3:06 PM

Falcons LT Jake Matthews was forced from Atlanta's Week 13 game against the Chiefs with a knee injury, and will not return.

Matthews was announced as "questionable" in the first half, but ruled out after the break. Tom Compton is filling in, and getting dominated. The Falcons cannot afford a long-term absence.
Dec 4 - 3:06 PM

John Brown (illness) is active for Week 13 against the Redskins.

Brown was able to practice on a limited basis Thursday and Friday, but it is unlikely he is fully healthy as he tries to work through his sickle cell issues. Larry Fitzgerald is the only trustworthy member of the receiver corps for fantasy.
