The Florida Times Union believes Jaguars second-year WR Ace Sanders could be on the roster bubble.

Sanders was the 101st overall pick in last April's draft. "5-foot-7 players who don't make guys miss don't have a ton of value," writes beat reporter Ryan O'Halloran. Sanders averaged just 9.5 YPR on 51 grabs as a rookie, breaking an anemic four tackles. He was the Jaguars' primary slot receiver and lined up in the backfield some. Jacksonville drafted Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee in the second round last month. They plan to use Cecil Shorts in the slot more this season, and that's Sanders' position.

Eagles LB Paul Worrilow has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the 2018 season.

Worrilow was a mere depth signing in April, but his loss is a blow for a team that just released Mychal Kendricks on Tuesday. Worrilow, who was a part-time player for the Lions last season, turned 28 earlier this month. The Eagles should be in the market for linebacker help.

Raiders CB Gareon Conley (shin splints) is a full participant in OTAs.

"Conley is special," coach Jon Gruden said afterward. "He was a top pick in the draft for a reason." Conley's rookie season was a complete wash, with his troublesome shin limiting him to two appearances. One month shy of his 23rd birthday, Conley will be given the opportunity to be a difference-making sophomore. The Raiders cut Sean Smith before letting T.J. Carrie walk in free agency.

Eagles released SLB Mychal Kendricks.

The move will create $6 million in cap space if Kendricks is designated as a post-June 1 cut, leaving behind just $1.6 million in dead money. Kendricks' release comes after the Eagles (again) failed to find a trade partner for their two-down thumper. Kendricks wanted to play all three downs. Going on 28, Kendricks had one of his best seasons in 2018. Provided he's healthy — Kendricks is recovering from an ankle scope — he won't be on the open market for long. Linebacker is a position of need for the Eagles.

Jadeveon Clowney (knee scope) has remained sidelined at OTAs.

Clowney's scope was all the way back in January. He was originally expected to be ready for OTAs. It's likely not a long-term concern, but just another reminder of Clowney's durability issues. It's ill-timed for a player trying to snag a long-term deal heading into a contract season.
May 22 - 3:04 PM

Khalil Mack skipped the start of Raiders' voluntary OTAs on Tuesday.

Mack has skipped the Raiders' entire offseason program as he angles for a new contract. 2018 is the final year of his rookie deal. It's possible Mack even skips mandatory minicamp, but he would then be at risk of fines. A new contract should get done before Week 1. Unless you're the Redskins with Kirk Cousins, teams don't mess around with franchise-type talents like Mack.

ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports Leonard Fournette has reported to OTAs "looking a bit slimmer."

After weighing in at 240 at the Combine, Fournette was listed at 228 as a rookie. Although that's what was expected, Fournette still appeared too bulky at times, and had trouble staying on the field because of his recurrent ankle issues. Shedding a few more pounds could be a way to both increase durability and add a little more explosion. It's an offseason storyline to watch.
May 22 - 1:46 PM

Julian Edelman (knee) was a limited participant during OTAs Tuesday.

Edelman did not participate during team drills, but he did do some individual work and fielded punts. Recovering from an August ACL tear, the Patriots will likely ease Edelman through the offseason program, but he should be ready to go at or near the beginning of training camp.
May 22 - 12:59 PM

Deshaun Watson (knee) is throwing during individual drills at OTAs.

Watson will not participate in team drills, but this is a positive step in his recovery from a torn ACL. Coach Bill O'Brien said Watson is "on schedule to participate in training camp."

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports Terrelle Pryor suffered an ankle injury this offseason.

This explains why he was absent during OTAs on Tuesday. Pryor ended last season on injured reserve with an ankle issue which required surgery in November. Mehta did not say if this injury is to the same ankle, but it is a massive setback either way. Playing on a one-year deal, Pryor needs to be healthy and productive this season to cash in next spring.

Christian Hackenberg worked as the No. 4 quarterback during OTAs.

It was a distant fourth, as well. Hackenberg did not see many reps during individual drills behind Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Darnold, and he was blanked completely during the team drills. Jets GM Mike Maccagnan seems intent on keeping the Hackenberg dream alive, but his days on the roster are numbered.

New Panthers OC Norv Turner believes he can help Cam Newton become more efficient.

Newton is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but it is not because of his accuracy. Cam has completely 60 percent or more of his passes in just two seasons, and he has not managed the feat since 2013. Despite that, his new coordinator has high expectations. "I see Cam as a guy that can be in the mid- to high-60s in the completion percentage," Turner said. "We're working hard in terms of scheming and getting the ball out quick. ... We want a good mix of dropback, play-action." High-60s sounds like a pipe dream, but it would not be surprising to see Newton become a more efficient passer in a better system with better weapons around him.
