Dolphins activated Knowshon Moreno (knee) from active/PUP.

Nearly seven weeks removed from a June scope, Moreno is finally ready to make his training camp debut. Now he has a month to prove that last season's success wasn't a mere result of the Peyton Manning offense. Lamar Miller has shown well with the starters throughout the offseason and into camp, running in the LeSean McCoy role as the Dolphins move to an Eagles-esque scheme under new OC Bill Lazor. If truly healthy, Moreno will bring a physical element and superiority in pass protection. He'd best be used in a short-yardage and passing-down role -- we're not expecting him to catch Miller for the starting gig.

USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports Vikings DT Sharrif Floyd's career is in jeopardy due to complications from his 2016 knee operation.

Per Pelissero, the nerve that controls Floyd's quad was "disrupted" during the September procedure to repair his meniscus. The quad "still isn't firing." Floyd's agent declined comment on Pelissero's report, but offered the following statement: "Sharrif is rehabbing, has seen some of the best doctors in the country, will continue to rehab and hopefully, this will heal sooner than later." The issue limited Floyd to one game last season as a 5-6 week timeline got longer and longer. The 2013 first-rounder turns 26 in May.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said walk-year WR Jordan Matthews is "a big part of what we do."

Entering his contract year, there have been rumors the Eagles are looking to deal Matthews, but Pederson expects him to remain on the roster. "Jordan...and Carson [Wentz] have a great relationship," Pederson said. "He's a dynamic slot guy, he's a little bit bigger guy, he works well in there." Matthews' role is sure to decrease following the additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, but he is still a decent bet for 100 targets. Especially considering Jeffery's injury history, Matthews could end up being undervalued in fantasy drafts.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson thinks Alshon Jeffery's presence will help the other receivers.

"For us, he brings some leadership into that room, and makes that room better," Pederson said. "The experience is obviously a big factor in what we're doing, and he can lead by example." Jeffery's work ethic was questioned at times in Chicago, but the Eagles clearly think he will be a good influence for the likes of Nelson Agholor and Dorial Green-Beckham. A true No. 1 receiver, he will also take pressure off Torrey Smith and especially Jordan Matthews, who were both out of place as top options. As long as Jeffery can stay on the field, the Eagles should have a much better receiving corps this season.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said "the offense runs through" Jordan Reed.

Gruden made the comment after being asked about losing both DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon in free agency. Washington did a good job retooling by drafting Josh Doctson last year and signing Terrelle Pryor, but Reed's ability to stay healthy will determine how good the offense can be. Reed caught 66 passes for 686 yards and six touchdowns in just 12 games last season, but he has not played more than 14 games in his career. He is a high-upside, high-risk fantasy asset.

Saints coach Sean Payton said he has "an exact vision" of how to use newly-signed WR Ted Ginn.

"I seem him playing at flanker, I see him being a guy that can take the top off the coverage. I like what this guy does," Payton said. "He’s still, when he’s playing in each game, the fastest player on the field." Payton added Ginn will "do some of the same things" as departed WR Brandin Cooks, although it is highly unlikely he is as involved in the offense. Despite making the switch from Carolina to New Orleans, Ginn's boom-or-bust WR4 fantasy value remains intact.

Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun reports the Ravens "love" LSU RB Leonard Fournette.

Zrebiec believes the only way the Ravens take a running back in the first round is if Fournette falls to them at pick No. 16. That seems unlikely, but Baltimore looks like the running back's floor. The Panthers at No. 8 appear to be a strong candidate to land Fournette.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy thinks Ty Montgomery has the "ability" to be a No. 1 running back.

Montgomery is making the full-time switch to running back this offseason, and the Packers have yet to add much competition. That will almost certainly change before training camp, but Montgomery should get a shot at the lead job as long as he stays healthy. "Obviously it’s a very heavy lifting position, so availability will be Ty’s No. 1 statistic," McCarthy said. "This is a big opportunity for him." Montgomery will likely be part of a committee even if he is the "lead back," but he is explosive enough and plays in a good enough offense to remain a fringe RB2 with upside even on limited touches.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he wants Tyreek Hill more involved in the offense this season.

"Growing Tyreek in the offense will be important," Reid said. "He’ll do nothing but get better as long as he keeps the right attitude and the same work ethic he had this past year...I’m expecting good things from him." Hill played just 416 snaps on offense as a rookie, and he topped 40 plays in just one game. That is not enough playing time for a versatile option who is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. The Chiefs need to get Hill on the field more moving forward.

Cam Newton is undergoing surgery to repair a partially torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder Thursday.

The surgery was announced last week. Newton is expected to resume a limited throwing program 12 weeks after surgery and start throwing with the team in fourth months. That timeline makes him questionable for the start of training camp, and he could sit out the entire preseason. Newton should be ready for Week 1 if his rehab goes as planned.

Adrian Peterson was pictured working out with Jameis Winston.

It is somewhat notable because the Bucs may be in the market for a running back, and coach Dirk Koetter added fuel to the fire when asked about the picture. "I've seen Adrian Peterson many times playing and that guy is one of the best running backs to ever play," Koetter said. "I'm anxious to talk to Jameis and ask him how his workouts went." With Doug Martin suspended the first three games and not a lock to stick on the roster, Peterson could be an option for Tampa Bay.

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie said extension talks with walk-year QB Derek Carr will ramp up after the draft.

"He knows what we’re trying to do in free agency," McKenzie said. "The communication has been ongoing, just talking about the philosophy of a contract and the thought process around it. Hopefully when the serious talks start going, then it’s going to be easier." The Raiders also would like to work out extensions with Khalil Mack and RG Gabe Jackson before training camp, but Carr will be first in line. It will be shocking if the two sides do not get it done over the summer.
