The New Orleans Times-Picayune believes it has "become apparent" that Pierre Thomas is now third in the Saints' running back pecking order, behind Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson.

The Saints' website depth chart lists Thomas No. 3, and in camp Thomas has reportedly begun taking second-team reps while Ingram and Robinson share work with the ones. We wouldn't read into this. Thomas is by far the Saints' best passing-down back, and New Orleans is a pass-first team. He's a quality RB2/flex in PPR leagues. Ingram is probably the best value in non-PPR. With Darren Sproles out of the picture, Thomas should catch 65-plus balls again.

Dolphins DE Dion Jordan has been reinstated from his year-long suspension.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jordan's reinstatement is conditional. He'll be in counseling and will be reevaluated ahead of the season. This at least gets him in the Dolphins' building and lets him practice and play meaningful preseason snaps after missing all of 2015. Miami is expected to hang onto Jordan and pay him a $1.69 million bonus he's due this week.

No. 3 overall pick DE Joey Bosa will not report for the start of Chargers training camp Friday.

Bosa didn't report to mandatory minicamp in June due to disagreements on offset language and bonus money payout terms in his rookie-deal negotiations. Those remain the sticking points. It's pretty ridiculous it's come to this. Since the new CBA was implemented with a rookie-wage scale, these contracts have become pretty rudimentary. Both sides need to figure it out ASAP.

Dolphins place RB Arian Foster (Achilles') on the active/PUP list.

According to Dolphins beat writers, it's merely a precaution, as this is pretty typical for veterans coming off serious injuries. Foster has said he's healthy after tearing his Achilles' last year, but Miami is just taking it slow. Consider him day-to-day. When Foster is able to practice, he's expected to run with the starters.

Eagles signed RB Darren Sproles to a one-year, $4.5 million extension through 2017.

There were rumors in May that the Eagles were trying to trade Sproles and didn't want him. This extension suggests they were just that. Rumors. Sproles turned 33 last month, but he's shown no signs of slowing down. Due to never having to carry a traditional running back's workload, Sproles has been able to maintain his skills. Expect him to have a similar role under new coach Doug Pederson as he had under Chip Kelly, as a strong pass catcher out of the backfield. Sproles has at least 55 receptions in five of the last six seasons.

Speaking Thursday, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Kelvin Benjamin (ACL) was in "pretty doggone good form."

Rivera stopped just short of declaring Benjamin all the way back to top form. "Kelvin's retention as far what we're doing, he handled that really well by the way he ran the routes and attacked the football," Rivera said of Benjamin's year on the sideline. "There will be a lot of good things for us to see on tape." Benjamin seems like an obvious overdraft candidate coming off a ridiculously inefficient rookie year followed by a torn ACL, but his WR18 price tag isn't absurd. Someone has to score touchdowns in the Panthers' high-octane offense. WR2 is not out of reach for the third-year pro.

Chris Clemons has informed the Seahawks of his retirement.

A 2003 undrafted free agent, Clemons is hanging up his cleats after 13 seasons. He's calling it quits with 69 sacks compiled over 162 games. He tallied at least 11 quarterback takedowns every year from 2010-12 in Seattle. He was going to serve as a situational pass rusher this season. Clemons turns 35 in October.

Bills walk-year CB Stephon Gilmore reported for training camp on Thursday.

The No. 10 overall pick of the 2012 draft is understandably dying for a new contract, but will play nice in his walk year. It could be a gesture aimed at keeping talks positive, and avoiding the dreaded franchise tag next spring.

The Indianapolis Star calls is "unmistakably clear" that the Colts' "go-to lineup will feature three wide receivers."

The Colts have been two-tight end heavy for the majority of the Andrew Luck era, but with Coby Fleener departed for New Orleans and Phillip Dorsett waiting in the wings, going three-wide is a no-brainer. Dorsett figures to be boom or bust behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief, but WR4 value is a real possibility.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians says he intends to determine his backfield touches "game to game."

"That'll go game to game," Arians claimed when asked how often David Johnson would be getting the ball. "If he's hot, he's staying in there. But there's no script right now." They're alarming comments on their face, but almost certainly just coachspeak. The Cardinals' website considers Johnson a shoo-in bell cow. Perhaps a "hot" Chris Johnson or Andre Ellington could occasionally steal a series, but we're confident in David's ability to dominate touches to the degree that he'll be an elite RB1.

Steelers placed TE Ladarius Green (ankle surgery) on the active/PUP list.

There isn't a lot known about Green's status. He underwent an operation in January, the severity of which is unclear, and missed all of the offseason program. We'd expect he will be cleared soon, but that's just a guess until we get more information. Green will be a high-TD-upside TE1 if his health cooperates.
Jul 28 - 5:02 PM

Jimmy Graham (patellar tendon) won't be ready for the start of camp.

The Seahawks have been adamant that Graham will be ready for Week 1, but we'd consider him a candidate for the reserve/PUP list until proven otherwise. Graham can't be trusted as more than a flier TE2 in fantasy drafts.
