In a poll of five NFL personnel executives whose teams played the Redskins last season, all five listed Kirk Cousins as a top-15 NFL quarterback and three placed him near or inside the top 10.

Statistics certainly back this up, but there is a feeling Cousins' 2015-2016 success came as a product of Jay Gruden's system. "He's really accurate, has really good timing, touch," said one personnel man. "He's not a great athlete. He's not the biggest. [Mike Shanahan] thought he was Drew Brees. Whether he is or not, I don't know -- but similar attributes. Not the best arm, obviously not as big as you want, but really good rhythm, touch, timing within their offense." If Cousins indeed hits free agency in 2018, he will push to become the NFL's highest-paid player.

Larry Fitzgerald did not reveal his retirement plans while speaking with reporters on Sunday.

Fitzgerald said the "only reason" he is still playing is to chase a ring, suggesting if the Cardinals surprise with a run this year it likely would be his last. Outside of that, however, Fitzgerald did not offer much in the way of a timeline. "I don’t know what the future holds," Fitzgerald said. "I feel good right now. When that changes, I’ll let you know." Notably, Fitzgerald's contract runs out after this season, but it sounds like his future will remain a mystery until at least January.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports walk-year WR DeAndre Hopkins will report on time to camp.

Hopkins staged a one-day holdout at the start of last year's camp to protest a lack of contract talks, but the situation looks like it is a little better this year. Hopkins said in June he loves playing for the Texans, and GM Rick Smith said in March the team is "intent" on signing Hopkins to an extension. Of course, he still does not have a new deal as he enters the final year of his rookie contract, so the positive words have yet to turn into action. Perhaps that will change during camp.

Jerry Jones said he has seen "absolutely nothing" to substantiate domestic violence allegations against Ezekiel Elliott.

Earlier in the same press conference, Jerry also said the Cowboys have no tolerance for off-field issues, so this maybe should be taken with a grain of salt. For his part, Jason Garrett said he had a productive conversation with Elliott about his behavior away from the team. Whether the allegations are true or not, it seems like Zeke is headed for at least a short suspension.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said the team is "confident" they will "get something worked out" with RG Zack Martin.

Martin still has two years left on his deal after Dallas exercised his fifth-year option in April, but they would like to get something done during training camp. With two All-Pro nods in just three seasons, Martin's next deal should place him right at the top of the guard pay scale. Kevin Zeitler is currently the highest-paid guard after landing $12 million per year from the Browns in March.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Duke Johnson is the "leading candidate" to replace Andrew Hawkins as the Browns' primary slot receiver.

Johnson was surprisingly profiled in Cabot's preview of the team's wide receivers. The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the more polished receiving backs in football, topping 500 yards receiving in each of his two seasons. Cabot believes he has a "good chance" of taking over the Hawkins role and it stands to reason that his receiving output would increase under those conditions. Johnson hasn't been used much in the running game anyway, logging a mere 177 carries since arriving as a third-round pick in 2015.

ESPN's John Keim projects Rob Kelley to open the year as the Redskins' starting running back.

Keim gave Kelley only a tepid endorsement in his lineup projections, expecting him to hold the job "for now" while confirming that fourth-round rookie Samaje Perine could overtake him at any point. Fat Rob showed promise at times last season after replacing Matt Jones as the starter, but seemed to wear down as the year went on while offering next to nothing in the passing game. Fantasy owners have been treating Kelley as an RB3/4 in early drafts.

The Buffalo News reports Sammy Watkins (foot) "should be close to 100 percent" when training camp starts.

Watkins is on track to be fully cleared after a limited OTAs. He's not going to get many preseason reps, but there's been nothing but positive reports since his option was declined. Entering a contract year, Watkins has the makings of a post-hype blowup if he stays healthy, though Buffalo projects to remain run heavy in 2017.

Chiefs OLB Tamba Hali expressed frustration with his 2016 role.

Hali made multiple grievances on his status with the Chiefs in a Saturday tweetstorm. He questioned his late season workload, and is still disgruntled over his lack of playing time in Kansas City's Divisional Round loss. Hali was productive despite starting just two games last year, ranking as a top-15 outside linebacker at PFF. With Dee Ford on the rise, there's unlikely to be a major snaps increase in Hali's age-33 season.

Texans rookie RB D'Onta Foreman tested negative for marijuana.

Foreman was arrested for marijuana possession and unlawful carrying of a weapon in Austin last Sunday. His attorney has been trying to clear his name since, though this doesn't change much in his legal situation. Foreman has been trending in the wrong direction after reporting to rookie camp out of shape. He'll enter training camp behind Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue.

Free agent Ronnie Hillman worked out for the Cowboys on Thursday.

He was joined by ex-Jaguars running back Denard Robinson. The Cowboys are looking to stock their backfield in case of an Ezekiel Elliott suspension, which has now become a foregone conclusion. Hillman bounced around the league last season, making stops in San Diego and Minnesota after being dropped by Denver at the end of training camp. Hillman would give Dallas some backfield depth behind Elliott and Darren McFadden.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports free agent Anquan Boldin will visit the Bills on Monday.

Boldin had planned to sign with a team just prior to training camp and it looks like he'll have a chance to do just that. The Bills are thin at receiver outside of injury-prone Sammy Watkins and pursued Jeremy Maclin and Eric Decker before those players signed elsewhere last month. Boldin has a history with Tyrod Taylor, who was his teammate in Baltimore for two seasons. Entering his age-37 season, Boldin isn't as explosive as he was early in his career but he's still a savvy possession receiver with a nose for the end zone. He pulled in 67 catches for 594 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns with the Lions last season.
