Eagles OC Frank Reich expects Jay Ajayi to take on a bigger role against the Cowboys in Week 11.

"He's able to handle everything that we give him at this point," said Reich. "When I look at our game plan for this week, I look at it and there's probably not a play on there that I wouldn't feel comfortable putting his number on." Ajayi was limited to eight touches in his Eagles debut in Week 9, but had the bye week to study the team's playbook and has apparently been a quick study. LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement will still be in the mix, but it sounds as if Ajayi could ascend to lead status in Week 11.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Ajayi’s $5.4k DK salary is beginning to look pretty appealing. Dallas will be without their best LB and run-stopper, Sean Lee, and even with Lee starting 7 games, they’re 30th in rush DVOA and 24th in adjusted yards (per FO). The Eagles are favored in this one (-3) and they're averaging the 2nd-most rushing attempts per game (31.4).

Chris Thompson (ribs) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Thompson was limited last Wednesday before ultimately being inactive Week 6 against the Panthers. It's too early to say if he'll play versus Dallas.
Oct 17 - 3:09 PM

Ted Ginn (knee) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

Ginn missed the Week 5 win over the Redskins before the bye and still isn't ready. Tre'Quan Smith filled in admirably in Ginn's place, catching a pair of long touchdowns, including Drew Brees' 67-yard record-setting score.
Oct 17 - 3:05 PM

Paul Richardson (knee) is not practicing Wednesday.

Neither is Jamison Crowder (ankle), but it was already known he'd be sidelined until at least Friday. Richardson has battled numerous injuries through his first five games with the Skins, but he should be okay for Week 7.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Raheem Mostert over Alfred Morris "isn't permanent."

Shanahan said it worked best against the Packers because Mostert was running well. Mostert showed more in his 12 carries against the Packers than Morris has through six weeks combined. The Niners hung with Green Bay all night and had a real chance to win. They'd be wise to keep rolling with a Matt Breida-Moster one-two punch. Morris is a total drag on the offense.

Free agent WR Rishard Matthews admitted he's unlikely to sign with a team this season.

"Probably not," Matthews said when asked if he'll sign soon. "A lot of teams are turned off by my past as if I have some criminal record. Most likely won't see me until next season." Matthews forced his way out of Tennessee after he wasn't playing enough under new OC Matt LaFleur. He's had workouts with the Jets, Cardinals, and Browns, but all have went in other directions.
Oct 17 - 2:05 PM

Jack Doyle (hip) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

Doyle hasn't played since Week 2 and doesn't seem close to a return. Eric Ebron has been dominant in his absence, leading all tight ends in red-zone targets. Ryan Grant (ankle) also missed Wednesday's session.
Oct 17 - 1:16 PM

Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) is present at Wednesday's practice but isn't throwing.

Every other quarterback is throwing, and Brock Osweiler was the quarterback the Dolphins made available to the media. We'd bet Osweiler starts this week, especially after he guided a win and Tannehill still being terrible.

T.Y. Hilton said he will test his injured hamstring on Wednesday and Thursday.

"Today and tomorrow will tell me everything I need to know," Hilton said. ""My less (than 100 percent) is better than a lot of people." The Colts' rag-tag receiver group has struggled badly with drops the last two weeks and could really use Hilton's return to the lineup. We'll know more Friday.

ESPN's Seth Wickersham reports the Chargers' viability in Los Angeles will be a "major discussion topic among NFL owners and executives at this week’s league meetings."

As Adam Schefter notes, it's a "troubling issue" for the league. The Chargers' PSL (personal seat license) sales have been a real struggle, and Wickersham says the team is expected to revise its Inglewood revenue goals sharply to a more realistic number of $150 million from initially setting it at $400 million. The Chargers are a team without a home as the Rams have cornered the L.A. market, and the Bolts are the stepson to the city. There were whispers last year of the NFL considering moving the Chargers back to San Diego. It should be done, but it would be a total admittance of failure by Roger Goodell and his billionaire buddies.
Oct 17 - 11:55 AM

The Bills named Derek Anderson the Week 7 starter against the Colts.

Anderson was just signed eight days ago and was inactive for Week 6 against the Texans, but Josh Allen injured his elbow in Houston and Nathan Peterman again pooped the bed in relief. Anderson obviously is not a fantasy option, but it's arguable he may actually be the team's best chance at a win.
Oct 17 - 11:41 AM

Coach Doug Pederson said LT Jason Peters (biceps) will practice Wednesday and "definitely can play" through the injury.

It sounds like Peters is going to play through his torn biceps, as he initially said he would. It's great news for an underperforming Eagles line, but Peters figures to be far less than 100 percent and may lack upper-body strength.
