Jordy Nelson said Aaron Rodgers (collarbone, injured reserve) "looks like himself" in practice.

Rodgers has been running the scout team in practice this week. He is eligible to return to the active roster in Week 15, but coach Mike McCarthy said he still needs to be cleared for contact. Everything we have seen suggests that will happen, and Rodgers will be ready to face the Panthers next Sunday. He is a great stash for playoff-bound teams.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports LeSean McCoy will show up for training camp on Wednesday.

RapSheet adds that is "unless his status changes with the league." McCoy was accused by his ex-girlfriend of arranging a home invasion in which she was assaulted. McCoy has not been charged with anything, but the NFL could still place him on the Commissioner Exempt List. That has yet to happen, and McCoy plans to report to camp with the rest of the Bills on Wednesday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Josh Gordon "did not have any slip ups or failed tests."

Schefter reports Gordon's absence is "a pro-active, defensive gesture to get extra counseling to try to ensure he does not have any of the setbacks that have marked his past," exactly the situation Gordon described in a statement Monday morning. While the NFL ominously said they will "address" the situation, it sounds like Gordon is telling the truth. In his statement, Gordon said he has "every intention of being ready and available to join my teammates soon."

NFL Network's Kimberly Jones reports Odell Beckham will report for training camp.

Despite Beckham telling reporters he would be at training camp, his attendance was brought up as an "issue" throughout the summer. He will be there, however, and reportedly "really hit it off" with coach Pat Shurmur. Beckham is scheduled to make $8.459 million in the final year of his rookie deal.

David Johnson reported for the start of training camp.

Entering the final year of his contract, Johnson skipped minicamp in an effort to force Arizona's hand, but he will not miss any time during training camp. Cardinals GM Steve Keim said he looks forward to "rewarding" Johnson, so perhaps the two sides have made strides on an extension. Johnson is fully healthy after missing almost all of last season with a wrist injury.

Jaguars placed DE Dante Fowler on the active/PUP list.

TE David Grinnage will also open camp on the PUP. Fowler sat out the offseason program with an undisclosed upper-body injury which reportedly caused him to lose "sizable muscle mass." Also suspended one game for violating the personal conduct policy, Fowler's contract year -- Jacksonville declined his fifth-year option -- is not starting well.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Broncos OLB Shane Ray did not have an additional surgery on his wrist over the summer.

Ray was expected to undergo "bone fusion" surgery on his troublesome wrist, but his doctor did not believe the procedure was necessary. Ray is still likely to open training camp on the PUP list, but it is possible he is ready for Week 1. After Denver declined his 2019 option, Ray is entering the final year of his rookie deal.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Mitchell Trubisky's early-camp performance could "best be described as inconsistent."

The Tribune's Rich Campbell says Trubisky's work both at spring practices and in the first few practices of training camp has been a "roller coaster on a play-to-play basis." Campbell cautions this isn't reason for alarm, but it's a reminder that Trubisky is learning an entirely new offense the second-year quarterback has admitted is much more complex than outgoing John Fox and Dowell Loggains' scheme. Trubisky should get more preseason-game reps than most quarterbacks. The Bears started camp early because they play the Ravens in the Hall of Fame Game on August 2.

Titans placed OLB Kevin Dodd on the did-not-report list.

Dodd skipped OTAs after the Titans traded up for his replacement in Harold Landry. A failed 2016 second-round pick, Dodd has given the team just 270 snaps since they drafted him and may have played his final down in Tennessee. Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan, and Landry are the team's top-three outside rushers.

Giants signed No. 2 overall pick Saquon Barkley to a four-year, $31.2 million contract, including a $20.76 million signing bonus.

The deal is fully guaranteed, includes a fifth-year club option, and pays Barkley $15 million at time of signing. Barkley is the highest running back drafted since Reggie Bush and Ronnie Brown went No. 2 in back-to-back years in 2006 and 2005, respectively. Barkley's rookie-year workload projection is one of the highest in the NFL. He warrants first-round selection in re-draft leagues.

Ravens OC Marty Mornhinweg said after Sunday's training camp practice that first-round pick Lamar Jackson is "way ahead of the curve."

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley wrote that Jackson has shown "accelerated improvement" in his quest to start camp fast. "He's done an outstanding job up to date," said Mornhinweg. "He's way ahead of the curve now." Jackson got experience with pro-style concepts under Bobby Petrino at Louisville, and in Mornhinweg (Michael Vick) and assistant HC Greg Roman (Colin Kaepernick, Tyrod Taylor), the Ravens have two coaches on staff with extensive backgrounds working with dual-threat quarterbacks. Per Hensley, Jackson has already passed Robert Griffin III on the depth chart behind Joe Flacco.

KSTP St. Paul reports Vikings OL coach Tony Sparano has died at age 56.

Sparano died at his home Sunday morning. He was due to report to Vikings training camp on Wednesday. The long-time coach had been with Minnesota since 2016. Sparano served as the Dolphins' head coach for four seasons, leading the team to a division title in 2008. He also filled in as the Raiders' interim coach after Dennis Allen was fired midseason in 2014. Sparano leaves behind a wife, a daughter and two sons.
