Speaking to Good Morning America, Johnny Manziel said he is sober and hopes "to get back to the NFL."

Diagnosed with bipolar disorder last year, Manziel said he was "self-medicating" with alcohol, but he appears to be in a much better place now. "I am taking medication for bipolar, and I am working to try to make sure I don’t fall back into any type of depression," Manziel said, "because I know where that leads me and I know how slippery a slope that is for me." Manziel has "a lot of confidence" he will be able to stay on the right track, but he admits the road ahead is difficult. "I am coming back from a huge downfall," Manziel said. "I don’t know what kind of comeback it will be, but I know I want to get back on a football field, to what brought me so much joy in my life." Manziel has been out of the league since 2015.

DeSean Jackson (thumb) did not practice Thursday.

Reportedly still unable to squeeze a ball, Jackson is highly unlikely to play this week. Even after disappointing last week, Chris Godwin is on the WR3 map against the Ravens.
Dec 13 - 11:43 AM

Isaiah Crowell (foot) did not practice Thursday.

That is three missed practices for Crowell, all but assuring he will miss Saturday's game against the Texans. Elijah McGuire and Trenton Cannon should handle the backfield work with Crowell sidelined.
Dec 13 - 11:10 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Carson Wentz (back) is "unlikely" to play Sunday night against the Rams.

Wentz underwent a scan on his back Wednesday which proved inconclusive. He will undergo an MRI on Thursday. Nick Foles will get the start against the Rams on Sunday night, and it remains possible he closes out the season in the starting role.
Dec 13 - 11:07 AM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Eric Berry (heel) will be on a "pitch count" on Thursday.

We might say snap count, but the takeaway is the same. Berry is going to make his debut on Thursday, as Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday, but he will be limited. Berry getting back to full health would be big for the Chiefs heading into the playoffs.
Dec 13 - 10:58 AM

Giants coach Pat Shurmur said Odell Beckham (quad) will not practice Thursday.

Shurmur said Beckham is being "further evaluated" outside of the building. Whether that evaluation is because of a setback or to potentially gain clearance is an open question. Beckham's status for this week remains up in the air.
Dec 13 - 10:23 AM

Chargers promoted RB Troymaine Pope from their practice squad.

This is a bad sign for Melvin Gordon (knee, game-time decision). Pope carried the ball 12 times in 2016 for the Jets and Seahawks, but he has bounced around practice squads since. He will back up Justin Jackson if Gordon is not able to play.
Dec 13 - 10:19 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports it will be "challenging" for Melvin Gordon (knee) to play Thursday night against the Chiefs.

Schefter says the Chargers will not make their final decision until pre-game warmups, but it sounds like Gordon is on the wrong side of questionable. If he sits, Justin Jackson will be a top-15 fantasy runner in a great matchup against the Chiefs.
Dec 13 - 9:18 AM

Zach Ertz said "everyone has full confidence" in Nick Foles.

As most will remember, Foles took over following Carson Wentz's knee injury last season and led the team to the Super Bowl. With Wentz suffering from a back issue which some reports suggest could be season-ending, Foles might be asked to close out this season as well. "No one is asking him to do too much," Ertz said. "We just want him to be himself." Foles is expected to start on Sunday night against the Rams, the same team Wentz hurt his knee against last season.

An infection in Derrius Guice's torn ACL required three additional knee surgeries and brings his 2019 availability into question.

Guice tore his ACL last preseason and should've made a smooth recovery, but the infection severely complicated his rehab. The infection lasted two months after Guice's ACL tear, "prompting seven weeks of heavy rounds of antibiotics through a catheter in his arm." Guice admitted there is "no specific timeline" for his return. This is especially unfortunate news after Alex Smith's complicated broken-leg surgery put Smith's NFL future into doubt.
Dec 13 - 1:20 AM

Coach Pete Carroll said Doug Baldwin (hip) is "day to day."

Baldwin remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice. The Seahawks are hoping he'll only miss one game, but his status indicates he's not off to a great start. Tyler Lockett would see the biggest boost in targets if Baldwin doesn't get cleared.
Dec 12 - 7:59 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms Eric Berry (questionable, heel) is expected to play in Week 15 against the Chargers.

Berry was healthy enough to return Sunday, but the Chiefs held him out with a short turnaround this week. Sidelined since last year's opener, it's likely Berry's snaps are limited in his debut. Berry's presence is a needed upgrade to a Chiefs secondary that's graded near the bottom of the league.
