ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini confirms the Dolphins are "discussing" releasing Ndamukong Suh.

The Miami Herald has been reporting this for weeks. With Jarvis Landry signing his franchise tender, the Dolphins need to clear salary cap space in the worst way. Although he's now 31, cutting Suh would be purely financial. He remains an elite player. Quarterbacks aside, Suh would instantly become the best player on the open market.

DeSean Jackson (thumb) is "hopeful to play" in the Buccaneers' Week 16 game against Dallas.

Jackson has missed the last three games and was reportedly unable to squeeze a football a week ago. With the Buccaneers clearly out of the playoff hunt, there's no incentive to rush Jackson back. For the speedster to return to the field, he will need to get in some practice time this week, which is something he hasn't be able to do since his injury. Even if active, Jackson would be nothing more than a risky WR4.

Redskins S Montae Nicholson was arrested and charged with assault and battery and public drunkenness on Tuesday morning.

Both Nicholson and a female companion were charged. The two apparently "pulled up in a vehicle and honked the horn" at a man and woman. It's unclear what ensued after. Nicholson was benched mid-season after shaky early-year play.

NFL.com's Tom Pelissero reports the Falcons could fire both OC Steve Sarkisian and DC Marquand Manuel.

Owner Arthur Blank is apparently convinced coach Dan Quinn is not the problem. Pelissero mentions ex-Quinn Seattle coaching mate Darrell Bevell as a possibility to replace Sark. That would be perhaps the least-inspiring hire the Falcons could make. Sark's offense has run extremely hot and cold this season, going through an unstoppable stretch in the red zone before much lower-wattage affairs over the past two months. Manuel has not had a prayer because of a wave of defensive injuries.

Melvin Gordon (knee) said he is healthy enough to play this week against the Ravens.

"I feel good, not 100% obviously," Gordon said. "But we’re going to go out there and knock off some rust and get myself ready for the playoffs." All signs have pointed to Gordon returning this week, and these quotes all but confirm it. Even against the Ravens, Gordon is a locked-in RB1 for the fantasy finals.

Aaron Rodgers suffered a groin injury Week 15 against the Bears.

He said the injury "bothered [him] a little bit" in the second half. There have been rumors the Packers will shut down Rodgers, who has also battled a knee injury all season, now that they are out of playoff contention, but interim coach Joe Philbin seemed to shoot down the idea. "In the general sense, my philosophy is football players are paid to play football games," Philbin said. "That's my general philosophy and overall philosophy whether it's Aaron Rodgers or anybody else." Rodgers has not played to his normal level this season, but the Packers turning to DeShone Kizer for the final two games would be a big downgrade for the entire offense.

Drew Brees completed 23-of-35 passes for 203 scoreless yards and an interception in the Saints' 12-9, Week 15 win over the Panthers on Monday night.

Brees has been a total bust for fantasy owners the last three weeks, averaging just 177 yards passing in that span with a 2:3 TD:INT mark in three consecutive road games at Dallas, Tampa, and Carolina. New Orleans has still won two of those despite Brees' lack of production. Brees should bounce back in a big way next week at the Superdome against the high-flying Steelers.
Dec 17 - 11:40 PM

Cam Newton completed 16-of-29 passes for 131 scoreless yards and an interception in the Panthers' 12-9, Week 15 loss to the Saints.

He did nothing as a runner with just 15 yards on five attempts. Newton has looked far from healthy for weeks, and his play has gone in the gutter with the Panthers dropping six straight games. He has just two touchdowns and six picks over the last three weeks and hasn't thrown a touchdown in two straight games. Newton's throws are wobbling out, and he can't challenge downfield at all with his bum throwing shoulder. It wouldn't be a surprise if he gets at least one of the final two games off. Carolina gets the Falcons at home in Week 16. The way he's playing right now, Cam is impossible to trust even in that great on-paper matchup.
Dec 17 - 11:35 PM

Michael Thomas caught 7-of-9 targets for 49 yards in the Saints' 12-9, Week 15 win over the Panthers.

Thomas went into halftime with one catch for five yards. His stat line could have been much better, but he had three catches called that would have totaled over 45 yards and also drew a defensive pass interference penalty. It'll be a tough pill to swallow for fantasy managers who needed those points. Thomas should have better numbers Week 16 at home against the Steelers.
Dec 17 - 11:30 PM

Christian McCaffrey rushed 15 times for 53 yards and caught 8-of-11 targets for 67 yards in the Panthers' 12-9, Week 15 loss to the Saints, adding a 50-yard touchdown pass.

McCaffrey was the entire offense for Carolina, accounting for its only touchdown on a 4th-and-2 trick play throw to FB/TE Chris Manhertz, who was wide open down the seam. Cam Newton mustered just 131 scoreless yards with a pick as a passer. His shoulder is shot. McCaffrey is all this team has on the offensive side of the ball. McCaffrey gets a home date with Atlanta next week. The Falcons are annually the worst team at defending dual-threat running backs.
Dec 17 - 11:25 PM

Alvin Kamara rushed 14 times for 67 yards and one touchdown in the Saints' 12-9, Week 15 win over the Panthers on Monday night, adding seven catches for 36 yards on nine targets.

Kamara scored the Saints' only touchdown, running one in from 16 yards out early in the fourth quarter to put New Orleans in the lead for the first time all night, a lead they tried to give back when Tommylee Lewis fumbled out of the end zone for a touchback while up 12-9 with less than two minutes to play. Kamara out-touched Mark Ingram 21-14 in this one and really took over in the second half. New Orleans hosts the Steelers in Week 16. Kamara is an RB1.
Dec 17 - 11:20 PM

Coach Sean McVay said Todd Gurley has knee inflammation and is day to day.

Gurley had to take a series off in the third quarter of Sunday night's stunning loss to the Eagles and was seen icing his knee on the sideline before eventually returning. Malcolm Brown (shoulder) has already been lost for the season, leaving Justin Davis and John Kelly as Gurley's backups. Gurley should be okay for Week 16 against Arizona, but the Rams could give him a little more rest.
