The Baltimore Sun reports the Ravens are "pretty far down the road" with free agent John Brown.

If healthy, Brown would be a nice addition to the Ravens' stagnant receiver corps. "If healthy" is far from a guarantee with Brown, however. Old when he entered the league in 2014, Brown turns 28 next month.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots nearly completed a deal to send Rob Gronkowski to the Lions back in April.

The Patriots and Lions were deep into trade talks leading up to the draft. Despite the presence of GM Bob Quinn and head coach Matt Patricia, both Patriots alums, Gronkowski had no interest in joining the Lions and even threatened to retire if the Patriots traded him. Gronkowski was contacted repeatedly by the Lions while trade talks were going on, but wouldn't answer their calls. This prompted a sit-down meeting with Bill Belichick, which eventually led to a reconciliation between Gronk and the Patriots. Already on a Hall of Fame trajectory, the 29-year-old's 77 receiving touchdowns rank third all-time among tight ends.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, there's at least "a possibility" Joe Mixon (knee) will return against the Falcons in Week 4.

Mixon underwent a knee scope following last week's win over Baltimore but is already on the mend and could be ready by next week. That may be ambitious, though Mixon claims to be feeling "much better" and is eager to get back on the field. After struggling as a rookie, the 22-year-old has gotten off to a booming start this year, rolling to 236 yards (179 rushing, 57 receiving) and a touchdown on 44 touches. Giovani Bernard's stay atop the Bengals' running back depth chart could be a short one.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cardinals plan on sticking with Sam Bradford.

This conflicts with some previous speculation. The entire Cardinals offense has been a disaster, so there's no rush to put Josh Rosen in a bad situation. Arizona believes Bradford is still their best quarterback despite his early year struggles. Bradford looks to have at least a couple weeks of leash before the Cardinals consider turning to Rosen.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Jon Gruden's system has led to a 'disconnect' in the Raiders' front office.

Gruden has an inner circle for personnel that "spearheaded the signing of several free agents, the jettisoning of previous draft picks and the trade of Khalil Mack." He also has his own draft board that's separate from the rest of the organization. It's created a fall out with GM Reggie McKenzie's guys and filled the Raiders with washed up veterans. McKenzie turned down GM interviews last offseason and "could seek other options after this year." Gruden's outdated approach has Oakland trending in the wrong direction, but the Raiders have no choice but to stay the course after shelling out a record-breaking contract.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys are hoping to re-engage the Seahawks in trade talks for FS Earl Thomas.

At one time, Thomas to the Cowboys seemed inevitable but trade talks have died down in recent weeks. Despite this, the Cowboys' interest in Thomas has never waned and with owner Jerry Jones headed to Seattle for Sunday's game, the sides will finally have a chance to meet face to face. The five-time Pro Bowler and Texas native has openly expressed his desire to play in Dallas. Thomas also has a connection to DBs coach Kris Richard, who previously served as the Seahawks' defensive coordinator. He'd be a great fit for the Cowboys, though obviously it's going to take a king's ransom to pry him away from Seattle.

Leonard Fournette (questionable, hamstring) isn't expected to play in Week 3 against Tennessee.

This comes after an earlier report Fournette was likely to play. The Jaguars are playing it safe with Fournette despite getting in a limited week of practice. T.J. Yeldon (questionable, ankle) will start and continue to carry the load in a plus matchup with the Titans' run defense. It's an unexpected turn for Fournette, but he's on track to return in Week 4.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports "there's optimism" Marvin Jones (questionable, ankle) plays in Sunday night's game with the Patriots.

Jones was a late addition to the injury report, getting in a limited practice Friday. He'll be monitored throughout the day, but it sounds like the Lions are expecting him to play. Jones was getting outsnapped by Kenny Golladay before going down and could see his role scaled back at less than 100 percent. He can't be trusted in Week 3 lineups.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Tyrod Taylor is expected to clear the concussion protocol this week.

It looks like Taylor will be healthy enough to play against Oakland next week, though it would be a surprise and likely a mistake if he drew the start. First overall pick Baker Mayfield dominated against the Jets on Thursday night and gives the Browns a much better chance to win than Tyrod, who was dreadful prior to exiting Week 3. Handing the reins to Baker should be an easy choice, though we can't take anything for granted with Hue Jackson calling the shots in Cleveland.

T.J. Yeldon (questionable, ankle) is expected to play Week 3 against the Titans.

Yeldon will play through his ankle injury and figures to carry the load Sunday with workhorse Leonard Fournette (hamstring) headed for another absence. Tennessee's run defense doesn't pose much of a threat as the Titans have yielded the seventh-most rushing yards per game this season. Yeldon is worth firing up as a borderline RB2 in all fantasy leagues this week.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Giants have benched RT Ereck Flowers.

The Giants had hoped that moving Flowers to the right side would reinvigorate him, but clearly that has not been the case through two games. The 24-year-old has been a complete and utter liability, earning PFF's No. 60 grade out of 68 qualifiers at tackle. Chad Wheeler will spell Flowers at right tackle Sunday against Houston. To quote Gob Bluth, using a first-round pick on Flowers was a huge mistake.

Corey Clement (questionable, quad) is expected to play Week 3 against the Colts.

There was some concern after Clement tweaked his quad at Friday's practice, but luckily it was just a minor setback. Clement should see a substantial workload with Jay Ajayi (back) and Darren Sproles (hamstring) both sidelined for Week 3. That makes him worthy of RB2 consideration in all fantasy formats.
