NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Seahawks are expected to cut DT Malik McDowell "in the near future."

The 35th overall pick in last year's draft, McDowell didn't play a snap as a rookie after suffering severe injuries in an offseason ATV accident. McDowell was then arrested last December for disorderly conduct in Atlanta. McDowell was a top-20 prospect on talent alone coming out of Michigan State in 2017, but fell in the draft due to off-field concerns, which now appear warranted.

Marquise Goodwin (thigh) remained "limited" on Thursday.

Goodwin is looking 50-50 to suit up for Sunday's dream matchup with the Chiefs. He will be a viable WR3 if he can get the go-ahead for the likely shootout.
Sep 20 - 7:05 PM

NFL Network's Omar Ruiz reports Carlos Hyde is awaiting the birth of his child on Thursday evening but is expected to make it to FirstEnergy Stadium just before kickoff.

Aka, Hyde is going to have a police escort to the stadium. Hyde's significant other was reportedly induced last night, so it has been a long day for the Browns' feature back. As any new parent can attest, the adrenaline should be enough to get him through the game against the Jets. We are not adjusting his Week 3 rank.
Sep 20 - 7:01 PM

Jarvis Landry (knee) is active for Week 3 against the Jets.

Landry just needed some maintenance during the week. He will be his usual, highly-targeted WR2 self against the Jets. Inactive for the Browns are QB Drew Stanton, WR Rod Streater, LB Christian Kirksey, TE Seth DeValve, DL Emmanuel Ogbah, DL Ifeadi Odenigb and DL Devaroe Lawrence.
Sep 20 - 6:52 PM

Cole Beasley was added to the Cowboys' injury report on Thursday, getting in a limited session with an ankle issue.

The Cowboys' No. 1 passing game weapon was apparently injured in Thursday's practice. As of now, there's no indication he will sit out Sunday's game against the Seahawks, but Friday's practice will tell the tale.
Sep 20 - 4:33 PM

Josh Gordon (hamstring) remained "limited" in Thursday's practice.

Gordon is expected to play against the Lions, but his involvement figures to be limited, more because of playbook considerations than his hamstring "injury." Gordon's upside is self evident, but so is his Week 3 downside. He's a high-risk, high-reward WR4 for his Patriots debut.
Sep 20 - 4:15 PM

Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was added to the injury report as a limited participant at Thursday's practice.

We don't know much about Gronk's injury at the moment and knowing the tight-lipped Patriots, that might remain the case. Late-week additions to the injury report are never a good sign, but there's no real reason to worry yet. On the off chance Gronk sits, it would open up targets for Chris Hogan, James White, etc. etc.
Sep 20 - 4:15 PM

Marcus Mariota (elbow) practiced again on Thursday.

According to the assembled press, Mariota was throwing the ball with more velocity. Neither Mariota nor coach Mike Vrabel have inspired much confidence about his Week 3 status, but it's looking like there's a legitimate chance he takes the reins back from Blaine Gabbert. If he does, Mariota will be facing the worst possible matchup in the Jaguars.
Sep 20 - 3:08 PM

Julio Jones (calf) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Jones told the media Thursday that his absence was just a precaution after his calf tightened up in Sunday's win over Carolina. We'd expect him to close out the week with a limited session on Friday. Even with Defensive Rookie of the Year Marshon Lattimore likely to shadow him, Jones will be safe to pencil in as a WR1 in all formats.
Sep 20 - 2:50 PM

Kelvin Benjamin (hip) was upgraded to full practice on Thursday.

Benjamin saw limited reps Wednesday due to a hip injury, though obviously the injury was nothing serious. He should see his usual workload on Sunday, though he'll be greeted by one of the league's better secondaries when the Bills travel to Minnesota.
Sep 20 - 2:40 PM

Updating an earlier report, Giovani Bernard (knee) was upgraded to full practice on Thursday.

It puts Bernard on track to play Sunday at Carolina. Gio averaged 23.5 touches in the two games Joe Mixon was absent for last year and should receive a similar workload in Week 3. That makes him an upside RB2 in all formats.
Sep 20 - 2:36 PM

Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) returned to Cardinals practice on Thursday.

Fitz will be slapped with a "limited" tag, but coach Steve Wilks has already vowed he will play against the Bears. There is little reason to doubt that at this point. With Sam Bradford struggling mightily, Fitz is just a borderline WR2 for Week 3.
