Giants selected Western Michigan CB Sam Beal with a third-round pick in the 2018 supplemental draft.

The G-Men surrender a 2019 third-round pick to take Beal. At 6'1/185, Beal was forced to leave Western Michigan for academic reasons. He was projected as a top-five player at his position heading into next year's draft, so this could be a steal for the Giants if it pans out. Beal has yet to turn 22 years old and is fresh off a 4.47 forty and 37-inch vertical at his Pro Day. Beal should compete with the likes of William Gay for snaps behind Janoris Jenkins and possibly Eli Apple. The talent is there for Beal to make an immediate impact, though corner is a tough NFL transition. Beal is obviously already behind after not taking part in spring work.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers are now listening to trade offers for holdout RB Le'Veon Bell.

They're satisfied with what James Conner has given the offense through two games and are looking to move on from the Bell situation, which has caused major off-field distractions. Bell has shown no intention of wanting to play anytime soon, seemingly more concerned with his musical career than football during the prolonged holdout. Any team interested in trading for Le'Veon would almost certainly want to work out a long-term deal before the move is made, and that creates several different obstacles to work around, including Bell's suspension and injury histories in addition to what's left of his commitment to playing football.

ProFootballTalk reports the league is waiting for law enforcement's case against LeSean McCoy to conclude before launching an investigation.

The NFL did the same with Ezekiel Elliott and Ray Rice. It means McCoy can play at least until his criminal proceedings are resolved. Even if he's cleared by law enforcement, McCoy is still subject to a suspension under the Personal Conduct Policy. Injured and facing possible discipline, McCoy is shaping as a 2018 fade.

Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is inactive for Week 3 against the Titans.

The Jags are also without slot CB D.J. Hayden and RG A.J. Cann. T.J. Yeldon is active, but there are indications he is less than 100 percent due to an ankle injury. Corey Grant is an exciting Week 3 sleeper play.

Giovani Bernard and Mark Walton are the Bengals' only active running backs for Week 3 at Carolina.

Thomas Rawls is a healthy scratch. Walton barely made the Bengals' 53-man roster after an absymal preseason, but Cincinnati has always been very committed to their draft picks. Walton was a healthy scratch in Weeks 1-2. It would be surprising if Walton played much on Sunday. Gio should get a big workload.

Bills declared LeSean McCoy, CB Phillip Gaines, TE Logan Thomas, DE Shaq Lawson, OT Ike Boettger, OT Conor McDermott, and G Wyatt Teller inactive for Week 3 against the Vikings.

McCoy traveled with the team to Minnesota but was still ailing during pregame warmups. With Taiwan Jones (head) active, the Bills will have Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy, and Jones available to replace McCoy. It's a horrendous spot for all against the Vikings' stout run defense.

Aaron Rodgers (knee) is active for Week 3 against the Redskins.

The Packers will keep pretending Rodgers is questionable for the foreseeable future. Inactive for the Packers are QB Tim Boyle, WR Equanimeous St. Brown, CB Kevin King, RB Darius Jackson, S Josh Jones, OL Alex Light and WR J'Mon Moore.
Sep 23 - 11:33 AM

Redskins WR Paul Richardson (knee, shoulder) is active for Week 3 against the Packers.

Richardson will try to clear out space down the field for risk-averse QB Alex Smith. Inactive for the Redskins are WR Michael Floyd, RB Samaje Perine, CB Adonis Alexander, OL Geron Christian, OG Shawn Lauvao, DL Caleb Brantley and S Trot Apke.

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Baker Mayfield will be named the Browns' starting quarterback on Monday.

This has been the expectation all along. The decision for coach Hue Jackson was a fairly easy one as the reigning Heisman Trophy winner looked miles better than Tyrod Taylor in Thursday's victory over the Jets. It appears Taylor will be able to clear the concussion protocol in time for next week's game at Oakland but he'll be holding the clipboard for Mayfield. The No. 1 overall pick is ready to slot in as an every-week starter in two-quarterback leagues, with room to grow in standard.

DeVante Parker (finger) is officially active for Week 3 against the Raiders.

The Dolphins haven't seemed overly thrilled with Parker this season, but he should immediately slots into three-receiver sets. He's a WR4/5 for his 2018 debut. Inactive for the Dolphins are QB Luke Falk, QB David Fales, WR Tanner McEvoy, S Reshad Jones, CB Cordrea Tankersley, RB Kalen Ballage and OT Zach Sterup.
Sep 23 - 11:31 AM

Marquise Goodwin (quad) is active for Week 3 against the Chiefs.

Goodwin was put through a workout before the game, so he apparently showed enough to be active. There is still some concern he will be used less than usual after missing last week, but the matchup could not be better. Goodwin should be in fantasy lineups.

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Seahawks are considering a "significant fine" for FS Earl Thomas after missing two practices this week.

Both absences were unexcused. It's the latest development in Thomas' ongoing feud with the Seahawks, who continue to rebuff trade offers for the disgruntled safety. Despite blowing off practice during the week, Thomas was present for Saturday's walkthrough and coach Pete Carroll plans to start him against the Cowboys in Week 3. Dallas has been the most aggressive team in pursuing Thomas and that would seem to be the 29-year-old's preferred landing spot, though ESPN's Adam Schefter still believes it's a "super long shot" that the Cowboys would meet Seattle's sky-high asking price. The Chiefs have emerged as a candidate for Thomas if he's traded before the Week 8 trade deadline.
