Joe Mixon rushed 21 times for 84 yards in the Bengals' Week 2 win over the Ravens.

Mixon added a three-yard reception. Mixon spent chunks of the night looking Le'Veon Bell-esque with his slipperiness, patience and power, but he was dogged by knee issues, twice checking out. Thankfully, he returned both times. He looked no worse for the wear after coming back from a "questionable" tag in the fourth quarter. Even with the injury, Mixon has now hit the 22-touch mark in both 2018 appearances. He is solidifying himself as a legitimate RB1. He has 10 days to rest up for the Panthers in Week 3.
Sep 13 - 11:49 PM

Matt Breida rushed for 50 yards on 17 carries and caught 5-of-5 targets for 46 yards in the 49ers' Week 15 overtime win over the Seahawks.

Breida (ankle) appeared healthy after sitting out in Week 15, and he returned as the clear cut No. 1 running back for the Niners with Jeff Wilson only collecting eight touches to Breida's 22. Breida's starting role should be safe entering Week 16, especially after Wilson had a fumble and a dropped screen pass on his eight touches. Despite a tough draw against the Bears defense, Breida will be a volume-based RB2 next Sunday. Breida has at least three receptions and 31 yards in four of five games with Nick Mullens as the quarterback.
Dec 16 - 7:48 PM

Antonio Brown caught 4-of-7 targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers' Week 15 win over the Patriots.

Tony Romo deemed the motion that got Brown loose for his 13th touchdown of the season as a "switch release." That matches Brown's career high from 2014. He will be facing Marshon Lattimore and the Saints as he looks to establish a new high-water mark in Week 16. As long as he lines up on Eli Apple a few plays, Brown will get that number.
Dec 16 - 7:47 PM

Jaylen Samuels rushed 19 times for 142 yards in the Steelers' Week 15 win over the Patriots, adding two receptions for 30 additional yards.

More involved as the game wore on, Samuels put the Steelers' offense on his back in the second quarter. His numbers were not goosed by any runs longer than 25 yards, he was simply consistently churning yards. Samuels had the smoothness of a pass catcher in the run game. It's hard to see how the Steelers could mothabll him following the return of James Conner. Conner will surely take the lead on the ground, but Samuels demands snaps in the third down/change-of-pace realm. Pittsburgh is heading to New Orleans to take on the Saints' dominant run defense in Week 16. Conner is expected to play.
Dec 16 - 7:41 PM

Nick Mullens completed 20-of-29 passes for 275 yards and one touchdown in the 49ers' Week 15 overtime win over the Seahawks.

It wasn't a perfect showing -- he missed George Kittle on a potentially long touchdown -- but Mullens once again found a way to win, and this time it was in overtime against Russell Wilson. Mullens was consistently hit right after releasing the ball, but that doesn't effect a competitor like Mullens, who has three straight games with at least 275 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers are now 3-3 with Mullens as they head into the Week 16 matchup against Bears. Mullens, of course, can't be started against an elite defense.
Dec 16 - 7:36 PM

Tom Brady completed 25-of-36 passes for 279 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Patriots' 17-10, Week 15 loss to the Steelers.

Brady and the Pats wilted into a series of pre-snap penalties and missed throws as the Steelers ramped up the defense and crowd noise late in a game they had to have. His interception was a laughably-bad blind heave into the end zone in the fourth quarter. As was the case last week, Brady actually appeared to have a little more juice down the field, but he had trouble involving his primary weapons outside of Julian Edelman. The play of the day was a first quarter 63-yard touchdown strike where the Steelers neglected to cover Chris Hogan following some intricate play-calling from the Pats. No longer an elite fantasy quarterback, Brady is still playing well enough for the Pats to win in real life, though their play has been uncharacteristically sloppy for multiple weeks now. Looking like they might get shut out of a bye in the AFC playoffs, the Pats have must win Weeks 16 and 17 home games with the Bills and Jets, respectively.
Dec 16 - 7:29 PM

Larry Fitzgerald caught 7-of-8 targets for 82 yards in the Cardinals' Week 15 loss to the Falcons.

Cardinals coaches were kind enough to leave Fitzgerald in the game with Arizona down big, and he racked up garbage-time catches to finish with a solid fantasy line. A similar scenario could easily play out in Week 16 against the Rams. Fitz has lacked 2018 upside but does have 17 targets over the last two games. He's also on a mission to climb the NFL record books late in a lost season.
Dec 16 - 5:26 PM

David Johnson rushed 11 times for 33 yards and a touchdown and caught 3-of-6 targets for 68 yards in the Cardinals' Week 15 win over Atlanta.

Johnson got off to a roaring start with a 40-yard reception on a slot route on Arizona's first drive, and he finished the first quarter with 66 yards from scrimmage with a touchdown. Unfortunately, Johnson totaled just six yards in the second quarter, the game got away from the Cardinals, and backups were playing by the fourth frame. Although his Week 16 matchup at home versus the Rams will be favorable, Johnson will need more help from his teammates to pay higher-ceiling fantasy dividends.

Pro Football Talk reports X-rays on Frank Gore's foot came back negative.

Gore was carted to the locker room with what was announced as an ankle injury in the first half against the Vikings, but Pro Football Talk reports he has a sprained foot. While he avoided any breaks, Gore will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the damage. He was seen leaving the locker room in a walking boot on Sunday.
Dec 16 - 5:08 PM

Aaron Jones believes his knee injury is a sprained MCL.

It's the same injury Jones suffered last year, also in Chicago. That one cost him two games. This one would cost him the rest of 2018. Jones is just guessing, of course. Monday testing will tell the tale. Jamaal Williams would be an every-down player against the Jets in Week 16 were Jones to sit.
Dec 16 - 5:03 PM

Tevin Coleman rushed 11 times for 145 yards and a touchdown in Atlanta's Week 15 blowout victory over Arizona.

The 145 rushing yards were a career high, keyed by Coleman's 43-yard scoring sprint in the second half and assisted by an Ito Smith knee injury that limited Smith to 11 touches after Smith out-touched Coleman in each of the previous two weeks. Coleman's day was nearly much bigger, but he had a 44-yard touchdown called back in the second half. Coleman was targeted just once and missed it. A thoroughly boom-bust player, Coleman will remain a volatile RB2/flex option in Week 16 at Carolina.
Dec 16 - 4:59 PM

Kenyan Drake rushed once for six yards and caught 3-of-3 targets for 28 yards in the Dolphins' Week 15 loss to the Vikings.

Even with Frank Gore leaving at the end of the first quarter, Drake was left on the sidelines in favor of Kalen Ballage for most of this game. He did get some work in the two-minute drill at the end of the first half and actually led the team with three catches for 28 yards heading into the break. That was the extent of his involvement, however, even with the Dolphins in garbage-time mode for most of the final quarter. It is possible Drake's shoulder injury has made the Dolphins hesitant to use him. No matter the reason, he is just a big-play dart throw at this point.
