Zdeno Chara will get the night off on Thursday when Boston visit Ottawa.

He remained behind, with fellow healthy Bruins Patrice Bergeron and Tim Thomas, when the team traveled and will get a rest day prior to playing in the regular-season finale on Saturday versus Buffalo. "Obviously I want to play, that's what you want to do," said Chara "I enjoy playing in every game, I don't want to miss any, but at the same time, you have to respect the decisions the coaches are making, for good reasons. It's just this one [game] and I'll be back for the last game at home." Chara has been sensational this season, with 12 goals, 52 points and a plus-33 rating. The workhorse defender has also chipped in 165 hits, 221 shots and 84 penalty minutes to cement himself as one of the most versatile blueliners in fantasy hockey.

Chad Johnson will get the nod Friday night.

Johnson is appearing in his third straight game. He surrendered five goals on 31 shots against Vegas on Tuesday, so this is an opportunity for him to bounce back.
Oct 20 - 2:37 PM

Thomas Greiss will be the Islanders' starter on Saturday.

Greiss is drawing into the lineup after getting two games off. He has a 1-1-1 record, 3.08 GAA, and .922 save percentage in three contests this season.
Oct 20 - 1:54 PM

Petr Mrazek is expected to start on Friday against Washington.

Mrazek will have his work cut out for him against that strong offensive club, but for what it's worth he does have a career 2.18 GAA and .925 save percentage in six games versus Washington. He has a 2.98 GAA and .900 save percentage in three contests this season.
Oct 20 - 12:39 PM

Tyler Seguin scored a pair of goals as the Dallas Stars defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-3 on Thursday night.

Both of Seguin's goals came in the third period and he came within inches of adding another with the net empty late in the game. He is playing extremely well alongside Jamie Benn who had a goal and an assist in this game. Seguin now has five goals and seven points in seven games this season. He is a sure fantasy bet, as he has topped the 70-point marker in each of his last four seasons.
Oct 20 - 12:41 AM

Erik Gudbranson will have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety for boarding Boston's Frank Vatrano on Thursday.

The hearing will take place on Friday. Vatrano had his back to Gudbranson when the Canucks defender sent him into the boards. Don't be surprised if Gudbranson is suspended for a game or two.
Oct 20 - 12:06 AM

Jeff Skinner scored a goal and added an assist as the Carolina Hurricanes topped the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Thursday night.

Skinner broke a scoreless tie in the second period off of a nice slap shot. He also assisted on Justin Williams' game-winner a minute into the third and led his team in shots with four. He now as three goals and four points in five games so far this season. He is coming off 37 goals last year, so is a quality fantasy asset.
Oct 19 - 11:43 PM

Connor McDavid picked up a pair of assists in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

If you haven't seen McDavid's primary assist on Patrick Maroon's first-period goal, you need to watch it right away (click link below). The Oilers captain literally made a mockery of Chicago's top pairing of Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook before finding Maroon. McDavid also helped set up Mark Letestu's power play goal in the overtime period. McDavid has now collected at least one in five of Edmonton's six games this season. This was also the second multi-point effort of the season for him. He has three goals and five assists in six games in 2017-18. He's the best player in the game.
Oct 19 - 11:36 PM

David Krejci suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's win over the Canucks.

Krejci seemed to be in some discomfort after making contact with the boards and he was unable to finish the game. We'll consider him day-to-day for now. It's bad news for a Bruins team that was finally starting to get healthy (both Patrice Bergeron and David Backes returned tonight).
Oct 19 - 11:25 PM

Cory Schneider suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday's game against Ottawa.

Schneider was able to finish the second period, but he didn't come out for the start of the third. He was replaced by Keith Kinkaid, who went on to collect the victory tonight. Schneider is considered day-to-day at this point.
Oct 19 - 11:12 PM

Erik Karlsson registered three assists in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.

In just his second game back from a lower-body injury, Karlsson stood out for all the right reasons. He helped set up goals by Kyle Turris (power play), Derick Brassard and Alexander Burrows (power play). Two of those three helpers were of the primary variety. Karlsson finished the game with eight shots on goal and a blocked shot in a game-high 27:08 of ice time. Don't be surprised if he finishes the season as one of the top three scoring defensemen in the league.
Oct 19 - 11:09 PM

Nico Hischier scored two goals and an assist in Thursday's 5-4 OT win over the Ottawa Senators.

Hischier's goal at the 2:30 mark of the first period was the first of his career. He then added his second marker just over two minutes later. The rookie helped set up John Moore's game-winning goal in the extra frame. The first overall pick in 2017 has two goals and seven points in seven games this season. Six of those points have come in his last three contests. He's a must-own in all fantasy formats, especially dynasty leagues.
