James Neal (lower body) said he will be ready to play Wednesday in Game 1 after he returned to practice on Monday.

"It's good to get back out there, get the legs going, get the timing back and get ready for playoffs," Neal said. "I'll be ready to go Wednesday." He sat out the final two games of the year due to a lower-body injury. Neal enjoyed an outstanding season with 40 goals and 41 assists in 80 contests.

Mike Condon turned in another strong performance in Thursday's 2-1 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Condon turned aside 34 of 35 shots in tonight's contest. Pittsburgh's only goal, which was scored by Nick Bonino, came while the Sens were shorthanded. Condon saved his best save for the overtime period, as he made a ridiculous stick save on Chris Kunitz at the midway point of the extra frame. Condon now has a 19-12-6 record with a 2.45 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage. His fantasy upside is limited by the presence of Craig Anderson, but we still can't deny that Condon's been a pleasant surprise this season.

Lee Stempniak scored two goals in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

He finally put his 10-game goalless drought to bed. Stempniak's goals gave Carolina 2-1 and 3-1 leads in the second and third period, and they never looked back. Stempniak has 14 goals and 22 assists in 72 games this season. The 'Canes are still a long-shot to make the playoffs, but this 6-1-3 stretch has put them five points back of the final Wild Card spot.
Mar 23 - 10:52 PM

William Nylander pushed his point streak to 10 games in Thursday's 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils.

The 10-game point streak is a new franchise record for rookies. Nylander did all of his damage in the first period, as he helped set up Josh Leivo's power play goal before scoring one of his own to give his team a 2-1 lead. The rookie finished the game with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes and five shots on goal in 12:39 of ice time. Nylander has 21 goals and 35 assists in 72 games.
Mar 23 - 10:37 PM

Braden Holtby stopped 29 of 30 shots in Thursday's 2-1 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Holtby also added three more saves in the shootout. After dropping four of his previous five games, Holtby has now rattled off three consecutive victories. He has a 38-116 record with a 2.03 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage this season. He continues to be one of the top fantasy goalies in the NHL.
Mar 23 - 10:25 PM

Nikita Kucherov scored a hat trick in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Boston Bruins.

Two of his three goals were scored on the man-advantage. Kucherov's first tally tied the game at two in the second period, his second marker made it 5-3 for his team and his third extended the Lightning's advantage to 6-3. Kucherov has now strung together three consecutive multi-point efforts (he has seven points during that span). The Russian forward has 37 goals and 39 assists in 66 games. Those are some pretty incredible numbers. He's a must-start in all fantasy leagues.
Mar 23 - 10:02 PM

Tanner Kero and the Chicago Blackhawks have agreed on a two-year contract extension, which will run through 2018-19.

Financial terms have not yet been released. The 24-year-old has posted six goals and 15 points in 55 career NHL games thus far with 55 hits to his credit.

Roman Polak was suspended for two games for boarding Oliver Bjorkstrand on Wednesday.

The Department of Player Safety noted that the "onus" was on Polak to "avoid the hit entirely" as Bjorkstran was "not eligible" to be hit. Polak will be eligible to return to action on Tuesday, March 28th. Click the link below for the Department's full video.

Jaroslav Halak was recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Thursday.

The Islanders' original starter this season has been sensational for the SoundTigers, going 17-7-1 with a .925 save percentage and a 2.15 GAA. With three sets of back-to-backs to finish the season, including Friday and Saturday of this week, it would appear the Isles are using every tool in their arsenal to secure a playoff slot. Prior to his demotion, Halak was 6-8-5 with a .906 SV% and a 3.23 GAA with New York.
Mar 23 - 1:09 PM

Ryan Strome has been lost to the Islanders with a broken wrist suffered in Wednesday's win over the Rangers.

He won't be able to return to the team unless they make a deep playoff run. Thus at least ends the 23-year-old's regular season. He posted 13 goals and 30 points with 40 PIMs and 59 hits in 69 games. In 30 games under coach Doug Weight, Strome posted seven goals and 16 points.
Mar 23 - 12:44 PM

Jonathan Bernier blocked 29 of 32 shots Wednesday night as the Ducks beat the Oilers 4-3.

This was Bernier’s sixth win in his last seven attempts. Even with one shootout loss, he entered the contest with a five-game streak of save percentage greater than .925. He did not come close to that mark Wednesday as he fell to .906 with three goals against.
Mar 23 - 1:15 AM

Roman Polak will have a disciplinary hearing for boarding Blue Jackets forward Oliver Bjorkstrand on Wednesday.

The hearing will take place on Thursday morning. Polak was assessed a five-minute penalty and a game misconduct for his reckless hit, and heavier punishment could be on its way. You can watch the hit by clicking the video at the bottom of the page.
