Craig Cunningham has agreed to a two-year contract to serve as a pro scout for the Arizona Coyotes.

"We're thrilled to have Craig join our hockey operations department as a pro scout," said GM John Chayka. "Craig was a smart, hard-working player with an incredible passion for the game. We're confident that he will bring those same qualities to the Coyotes in his new role and that he will be an invaluable asset to our organization. We look forward to Craig helping us in several areas and are excited that he is staying with the club." Cunningham went into cardiac arrest on the ice before an AHL game in November. He had part of his leg removed in the procedure to save his life and he has made a remarkable recovery. We wish him the best in his new role with the Coyotes.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have reportedly given the Colorado Avalanche permission to speak to assistant GM Kyle Dubas.

This report comes from Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Dubas has been with the organization since the summer of 2014. It's unclear what role he's being interviewed for, but it's clear that the Avalanche need to upgrade their front office after the miserable season they had in 2016-17. It's not the first time Dubas has garnered interest from other teams. We'll see if it amounts to anything this time around.

Craig Anderson was outstanding in Ottawa's 2-1 win over Pittsburgh in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.

What a response from Anderson, after he allowed four goals on 14 shots in Game 5. Anderson left the Penguins frustrated all night, as he turned aside 45 of the 46 shots Pittsburgh sent his way. Pens forward Evgeni Malkin opened the scoring in the second period, but Ottawa responded with two goals from Bobby Ryan and Mike Hoffman to get the win. Anderson now owns a 11-7 record with a 2.36 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage this postseason. The best-of-seven series is now tied up at three. Game 7 will be played in Pittsburgh on Thursday night. The winner of that game will take on Nashville in the Stanley Cup Final.

Evgeni Malkin scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Ottawa in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.

Malkin opened the scoring at the 4:51 mark of the second period, but it's the only offense the Penguins were able to muster tonight. Sens goalie Craig Anderson was a huge reason for that, as he was terrific in this game. Malkin finished the game with two penalty minutes, seven shots on goal and three hits in 19:42 of ice time. Malkin now has four points in his last two games. He has seven goals and an incredible 24 points in 18 postseason games in 2017. Ian Cole and Scott Wilson picked up the assists on Pittsburgh's only goal. The series is now tied up at three. Game 7 will be played in Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
May 23 - 11:24 PM

Mike Hoffman scored the game-winning goal in Ottawa's 2-1 win over Pittsburgh in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final on Tuesday.

The Penguins scored the first goal of the game, but Ottawa responded by goals by Bobby Ryan (second period) and Hoffman (early in the third frame). Hoffman's goal came on a blast from the faceoff circle. The Sens forward finished the game with two penalty minutes, two shots on goal and five hits in 16:20 of ice time. Hoffman has two goals and four points in his last four contests. He's up to five goals and five assists in 17 games this postseason. The best-of-seven series is now tied up at three. Game 7 will be played in Pittsburgh on Thursday night. The winner off that one will play Nashville in the Stanley Cup Final.
May 23 - 11:09 PM

Alex Burrows has been ruled out for Game 6 versus Pittsburgh on Tuesday night.

He wasn't expected to be ready to play and that has been confirmed by coach Guy Boucher. Mark Borowiecki (lower body) won't be available to play either on Tuesday night.
May 23 - 12:44 PM

Patric Hornqvist (upper body) won't return for Game 6 at Ottawa on Tuesday night.

He stayed in Pittsburgh to rehab from his upper-body injury. Hornqvist is making progress, according to coach Mike Sullivan, but he is still day-to-day.
May 23 - 12:18 PM

Justin Schultz (upper body) won't play Tuesday night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.

He appeared to be close to getting back in the lineup on Sunday afternoon, but he didn't play against Ottawa. Schultz is continuing to rehab, while accompanying the team on the road.
