Marian Gaborik will make his 2017-18 debut on Friday night.

Gaborik has been sidelined with a knee injury all season, but he's finally ready to go tonight. The Kings forward was once considered one of the premiere talents in the NHL, but his stock has dropped significantly. Don't expect him to have any value in standard leagues this season.

Vladislav Namestnikov found the back of the net in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Namestnikov opened the scoring with a power play goal at the 1:22 mark of the first period, but it was the only offense the Lightning could muster in this one. He's now accumulated 11 points in his last 10 games. He's up to 10 goals and 22 points in 22 contests in 2017-18.
Nov 24 - 7:52 PM

Marian Gaborik (knee) might be able to make his season debut Friday night.

Kings coach John Stevens said that he would consult with the trainers before a final decision on Gaborik's availability was made. Still, even if Gaborik doesn't end up returning on Friday, it's clear that he's very close. If Gaborik does play on Friday, it might be on a line with Jonny Brodzinski and Jussi Jokinen.
Nov 24 - 3:36 PM

Alex Stalock will be Minnesota's starter on Friday afternoon against Colorado.

Stalock is 1-2-1 with a 2.56 GAA and .927 save percentage in five games this season. He turned aside 40 of 43 shots against Washington in his last start on Nov. 18.
Nov 24 - 2:27 PM

Carter Hutton will be in net for the Blues on Friday against Nashville.

Hutton has made the most of his limited playing time this season by posting a 4-0-0 record, 1.71 GAA, and .943 save percentage in five contests. St. Louis is facing his former team, the Nashville Predators, so this was as good a time as any to get Hutton a start. "This was targeted," Blues coach Mike Yeo said. "The back-to-back nights, a team he's familiar with – a player always has some extra motivation playing against a former team. We've got to factor in what's best for Jake, maybe an extra day between games for Jake and he can come back and play against Minnesota, a team he's had strong performances against. That was our thought process here."
Nov 24 - 2:09 PM

Scott Wedgewood will be between the pipes on Friday night versus Los Angeles.

Wedgewood has a 1-2-1 record, 2.93 GAA, and .909 save percentage in five contests this season. He's getting the nod because Antti Raanta is sidelined.
Nov 24 - 1:43 PM

Torey Krug (upper body) has rejoined the Bruins for Friday's game.

Krug was regarded as a game-time decision after missing three straight contests. Boston dressed seven blueliners, so it will be interesting to see if Krug is eased back into the lineup to some extent.
Nov 24 - 1:12 PM

Laurent Brossoit will start for the Edmonton Oilers on Friday.

Cam Talbot is battling the flu, so that's why Brossoit is getting a rare start. Brossoit has a 0-2-1 record, 3.62 GAA, and .865 save percentage in five contests this season.
Nov 24 - 12:32 PM

Carey Price (lower body) will be the Canadiens' starter on Saturday.

It will be Price's first game with Montreal since Nov. 2. Now that he's finally healthy he will be tasked with turning his campaign around after a rough start. He has a 3-7-1 record, 3.77 GAA, and .877 save percentage in 11 contests.
Nov 24 - 12:28 PM

Eddie Lack went unclaimed on waivers.

Calgary sent Lack to the minors as a result. Lack got off to an ugly start this season with a 1-2-0 record, 5.29 GAA, and .813 save percentage in four games. At one point he looked like he had starter potential, but now the 29-year-old netminder will have to prove that he's worth being on an NHL roster at all.

Keith Kinkaid will play between the pipes on Saturday.

Cory Schneider is starting on Friday, but Devils coach John Hynes wants to split up the workload for this back-to-back set. Kinkaid has a 4-1-1 record, 3.08 GAA, and .905 save percentage in seven contests this season.
