Chris Kunitz had a night to remember in Pittsburgh's 3-2 double overtime win over the Ottawa Senators in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final.

After picking up just two assists in 13 playoff games this spring, Kunitz came through with two goals, including the game-winner at the 5:09 mark of the second overtime frame. He also added an assist on Justin Schultz's power play goal in the third period. Kunitz finished the game with three points, a plus-2 rating, six shots on goal, four hits and three blocked shots in 22:50 of ice time. The Penguins now move on to play the Nashville Predators in the Stanley Cup Final. Game 1 will be played in Pittsburgh on Monday night.

Justin Schultz will play in Game 7 against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

Schultz missed the last four games because of an upper-body injury, but he's good to go tonight. He'll skate on a pairing with Ian Cole.

Conor Sheary will play in Thursday's Game 7 against Ottawa in the Eastern Conference Final.

It looked like Sheary was going to be a healthy scratch in tonight's game, but with Patric Hornqvist (upper body) out, Sheary will draw in. He has no goals and three assists in eight games this postseason. Josh Archibald, Oskar Sunqvist, Cameron Gaunce Mark Streit and Derrick Pouliot will serve as healthy scratches in this one.

Updating a previous item, Patric Hornqvist (upper body) will not play in Game 7 against the Senators on Thursday.

Hornqvist was on the ice for the pre-game warmup, and he even skated on a line during rushes, but now we know he was just acting as a decoy. Conor Sheary will take his spot in the lineup.

Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens will reportedly meet next week to discuss a contract extension.

Price has one year remaining on his current deal at $6.5 million. The Canadiens goalie posted a 2.23 goals-against-average and a .923 save percentage during the regular season. Whenever the two sides agree on an extension, expect the cap number to be higher than his current salary.

Sami Vatanen has undergone shoulder surgery.

It's not clear exactly how long Vatanen will need to recover, but teammate Hampus Lindholm is expected to need four-to-five months to rehab from his upcoming shoulder surgery and the Ducks revealed that Vatanen will take "even longer" for his recovery. In other words, don't expect Vatanen to be ready for the start of the 2017-18 campaign. He had three goals and 24 points in 71 contests.

Hampus Lindholm will need to undergo shoulder surgery this summer.

It will take Lindholm about four-to-five months to recovery from the surgery, so it's entirely possible that he won't be ready for the start of the season. On top of that there is some danger that he'll get off to a sluggish start because his recovery could impact his ability to get ready for the 2017-18 campaign over the summer. He had six goals and 20 points in 66 contests this season.

Steve Ott has been hired by the St. Louis Blues as an assistant coach.

That also means he's ending his playing career at the age of 34 (he'll turn 35 on Aug. 19). Ott had three goals and seven points in 53 games between the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings this season. Over the course of his career he's played in 848 regular season games, including 122 with St. Louis. He also appeared in 61 playoff contests. "I am very proud of my playing career and will devote the same work ethic to my coaching career," said Ott. "The Blues organization is very special to me and my family and I'm excited to take the next step in my hockey career with this franchise."

According to Nashville GM David Poile, there is a very good chance that Mike Fisher will be available for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Craig Cunningham has agreed to a two-year contract to serve as a pro scout for the Arizona Coyotes.

"We're thrilled to have Craig join our hockey operations department as a pro scout," said GM John Chayka. "Craig was a smart, hard-working player with an incredible passion for the game. We're confident that he will bring those same qualities to the Coyotes in his new role and that he will be an invaluable asset to our organization. We look forward to Craig helping us in several areas and are excited that he is staying with the club." Cunningham went into cardiac arrest on the ice before an AHL game in November. He had part of his leg removed in the procedure to save his life and he has made a remarkable recovery. We wish him the best in his new role with the Coyotes.
