Zdeno Chara has agreed to play for HC Lev Praha in the KHL.

The team plays out of Prague in the Czech Republic. Chara will join Philadelphia forward Jakub Voracek and Calgary winger Jiri Hudler, who are also there because of the NHL lockout. "The player wants to play in Prague, we will finalize everything in the next few hours," said the team's website.

His time has nearly arrived, Timo Meier is "real close" to making his NHL debut.

The 20-year-old is having a great season for AHL Barracudas, having posted eight goals and 14 points in 14 games thus far. The Sharks could use a bit of youth on the squad, Meier's emergence would be a welcome sight.

Kris Versteeg won't play on Thursday because of bumps and bruises.

Versteeg has four goals and 11 points in 19 games this season. Micheal Ferland will play alongside Sean Monahan and Troy Brouwer as a result of Versteeg's absence.

Brent Seabrook (upper body) will not be available on Friday.

Seabrook was hurt when he got tangled up with Jordan Martinook near the boards in the second period of Tuesday's contest. He has two goals and 16 points in 28 contests this season.
Dec 8 - 2:40 PM

Mark Scheifele will return from a lower-body injury on Thursday.

Scheifele was sidelined for three straight contests due to the ailment. Blake Wheeler had been serving as a center in his absence, but now Wheeler will shift back to the wing so that he can be on a line centered by Scheifele. Drew Stafford is the third player on that line.
Dec 8 - 2:09 PM

Jonas Gustavsson will get the nod on Thursday.

Gustavsson is making his second start on three games. He has a 1-1-1 record, 2.00 GAA, and .923 save percentage in five contests this season.
Dec 8 - 12:13 PM

Thomas Greiss will play between the pipes on Thursday.

Greiss is getting his first start since Nov. 30. He has a 5-4-0 record, 2.47 GAA, and .919 save percentage in 10 contests this season.
Dec 8 - 11:14 AM

Keith Kinkaid will be the Devils' starter Friday night.

It will be the second half of a back-to-back set, so it's not too surprising that Kinkaid is getting some work. He has a 3-1-2 record, 2.59 GAA, and .928 save percentage in six games.

Mike Condon blocked 35 of 37 shots Wednesday night as the Ottawa Senators defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-2.

The reliever was playing in only his seventh game with the Senators after moving over from the Nashville Predators in early November and he has heated up the ice. In six complete games and a short stint against the Penguins on Monday night, he has recorded a save percentage of .945. On Wednesday, he logged a .946 and has been busy enough in most contests to bank a lot of points.
Dec 8 - 2:20 AM

John Gibson will be credited with a 6-5 victory by the Anaheim Ducks over the Carolina Hurricanes, but he gave up five goals on 34 shots Wednesday night.

That many goals against the Ducks’ netminder minimized his effectiveness as a fantasy asset. This was the first time in the past four games that he failed to crack the .900 mark, however, recording only an .853 Wednesday night. Owners might want to keep him on their radar screen.
Dec 8 - 1:59 AM

Corey Perry scored at the 17:32 minute to tie the Carolina Hurricanes late in the third in what eventually became a 6-5 win by the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night.

Immediately after doing so, Perry heaved a huge sigh of relief. His goal is only the fifth of the season and it snapped an 18-game streak in which he failed to find the back of the net. He has remained fantasy relevant, however, with 14 assists in that same span of events.
Dec 8 - 1:45 AM

David Pastrnak scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Bruins found themselves down 3-0 in the second period, but battled back to tie the game at three. Dominic Moore scored their first goal followed by Pastrnak and Colin Miller. Pastrnak continues to impress this season. He now has 16 goals and 22 points in 22 games. He's on pace to score 56 goals this season, but the odds of him hitting that number are slim. Still, he's been excellent. He's a must-start in all fantasy leagues.
