Blake Geoffrion's father, Danny, spoke with the The Tennessean on Monday after his son's frightening injury on Friday in which he sustained a depressed skull fracture.
He was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery following a hip-check that sent him into the air. "Parts of the skull had gotten into the brain," Danny said. "So they cleaned all that out, and took care of the little bleeding he did have, which was another major thing. He was very, very lucky." Blake was removed from intensive care on Sunday and after a scary weekend he appears to be doing better. "He's doing OK, he's a little raspy, not taking any calls or anything like that because of the tube that they had to insert in his throat made everything raw," Danny said. "But he's in good spirits and tells everybody think you for all the emails, tweets and texts." We wish him all the best in his recovery.
