NHL Central Scouting ranks Halifax teammates Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin as the top-two skaters in the QMJHL for the 2013 draft.

MacKinnon is an early favorite to go first overall and Drouin is quickly raising up the rankings as well. Portland defenseman Seth Jones is the top ranked skater in the WHL, while Ottawa's Sean Monahan is the No. 1 player in the OHL. The United States Hockey League's best skater is currently JT Compher, while Aleksander Barkov of Tappara in Finland and Elias Lindholm of Brynas in Sweden are the cream of the crop in Europe. These are the just preliminary rankings, but this year's draft class is already shaping up to be a strong one.
