Mikhail Grigorenko scored two times as Quebec dismantled Acadie-Bathurst on Wednesday night 9-3.

If there were an NHL season right now, there's a good chance Grigorenko would be with the Sabres. Instead, he continues to tear up the QMJHL, looking like a man among boys. He has 20 goals and 20 assists on the year, a point total that's good for fourth in the league.

Roberto Luongo suffered a hand injury in Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Luongo came out of the game in the third period and he didn't factor into tonight's deicision. We'll consider Luongo day-to-day right now. If he's forced to miss an extended period of time, James Reimer's fantasy stock will get a boost.

John Gibson stopped 49 of 51 shots in a 6-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night.

Of the 51 total shots, 30 came during the second period where Gibson made several huge saves to preserve his team's lead. This allowed the Ducks to pull away in the third period with three quick goals on Price. Gibson's record improved to 3-2-1 on the year with his impressive performance. He'll most likely be back in the crease on Tuesday when the Ducks travel to Philadelphia.
Oct 21 - 12:58 AM

Evgeni Malkin scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers.

Malkin's power play goal at the 2:14 mark of the second period cut Florida's lead to 2-1. Malkin also helped set up Sidney Crosby's power play goal late on in the frame. He has three goals and 10 points in eight games this season. Six of those points have come in his last two games.
Oct 21 - 12:55 AM

Tomas Tatar scored a pair of goals in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals.

Tatar did all of his damage in the third period, as his first goal tied the game at two at the 5:24 mark of the frame. His second goal made it 3-2 Detroit less just over seven minutes later. Tatar finished the night with a plus-1 rating and six shots on goal in 16:44 of ice time. He has three goals and two assists in eight games this season.
Oct 21 - 12:30 AM

Alex Ovechkin scored the game-winning goal in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over Detroit.

His goal was scored while the Capitals were on the power play. His tally also snapped his two-game goalless "drought". The Capitals captain finished the night with a minus-1 rating, seven shots on goal and one hit in 19:45 of ice time. Ovechkin is already up to 10 goals and 11 points in eight games. He's one of the Rocket Richard Trophy favorites right now.
Oct 21 - 12:26 AM

Derek Dorsett scored two goals and an assist in Friday’s 4-2 win over Buffalo.

Dorsett picked up the primary assist on Markus Granlund’s first-period goal. He also added a shorthanded goal in the second period and an empty-netter in the third frame. The Canucks forward is off to a terrific start this season. Not only has he scored in back-to-back games, he’s also up to four goald and five points in seven games. Don’t be fooled by the hot start, he isn’t worth owning in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 20 - 10:39 PM

Martin Jones stopped all 28 shots he faced in Friday’s 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils.

Jones has now won three straight games. It’s also the third game in a row that he holds the opposition to two goals or less. The shutout was his first of the season. Jones now owns a 3-2-0 record with a 2.64 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage this season.
Oct 20 - 10:20 PM

Mikael Granlund (groin) won't play in Friday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

Granlund was considered a game-time decision, but the Wild clearly feel like he's still not ready to play. He had 69 points in 81 games last season.
Oct 20 - 7:49 PM

Boone Jenner (back) seems set to make his season debut on Saturday.

Jenner wasn't available for Columbus' first seven games. However, he's been practicing with the Blue Jackets and on Friday Columbus prepared for his return by activating Jenner off the injured reserve list. Look for him to play alongside Nick Foligno and Oliver Bjorkstrand.
Oct 20 - 5:30 PM

Philipp Grubauer is expected to start on Saturday.

Braden Holtby will start Friday night, but he won't be asked to play two days in a row. Grubauer has a 0-1-1 record, 5.85 GAA, and .844 save percentage in two contests in 2017-18.
Oct 20 - 4:36 PM

Erik Gudbranson will serve a one-game suspension for boarding Boston's Frank Vatrano.

That will keep Gudbranson out of Friday's game, but he'll be eligible to return on Sunday. It probably helped Gudbranson's case that he hadn't previously been fined or suspended and thus was not a repeat offender.
