Jonathan Huberdeau has been handed a four-game suspension by the QMJHL.

Huberdeau is being punished for two separate violations that both come with an automatic suspension. The first is instigating a fight in the last five minutes of a game where one team has a lead of at least two goals. The second is using physical force against an official in an attempt to break free during or immediately after a fight. Huberdeau is arguably the Florida Panthers top prospect. He has 16 goals and 45 points in 30 games this season.

Roman Josi picked up a goal and an assist in Nashville's 4-1 win over Colorado on Tuesday night.

This was Josi's first game back in the lineup after he missed three games with a lower-body injury. His power play goal at the 13:30 mark of the second period made it 2-1 for Nashville. Josi also helped set up Colton Sissons' goal later on in the period to make it 3-1 for the Predators. Josi finished the game with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes, seven shots on goal and one hit in 22:30 of ice time. These were Josi's first two points of the 2017-18 season.
Oct 17 - 11:04 PM

Nikita Kucherov extended his goal-scoring streak to seven games in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to New Jersey.

Kucherov became the second player in the last 30 years to score a goal in his first seven games of the season (Mario Lemieux is the other one). He also picked up an assist during tonight's contest. The Lightning forward has scored in every one of Tampa Bay's games this season. He has eight goals and 12 points in seven games this season. He's become one of the elite players in the NHL.
Oct 17 - 10:58 PM

Zach Werenski scored his third goal of the season as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Werenski's third period marker was a beautiful goal, as the 20-year old defenseman beat Steve Mason with a well-placed wrist shot top corner. He was arguably the best d-man on the ice, and will provide the Blue Jackets with a dangerous top defensive pairing alongside Seth Jones all season long. It was his fifth point in six games this year as he looks to top his 47-point rookie campaign.
Oct 17 - 10:50 PM

Steven Stamkos registered a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils.

Stamkos helped set up goals by Vladislav Namestnikov (1-1) in the first period and Nikita Kucherov (3-3) in the second frame. Stamkos' goal at the 17:23 mark of the second period gave the Bolts a 4-3 lead at the time. Stamkos has been incredible this season, as he's picked up at least one point in each of Tampa Bay's seven games. He's up to two goals and 10 assists in seven games this season. He's a must-start in all fantasy leagues whenever he hits the ice.
Oct 17 - 10:43 PM

Drew Stafford scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Stafford's first goal opened the scoring just 2:45 into the game, while his second goal tied the game at four with just over four minutes remaining in regulation. Devils forward Kyle Palmieri, who also scored a goal in the game, added the winner in the shootout. Stafford now has three goals in his last two games since returning from a lower-body injury. He still isn't worth owning in any fantasy leagues.
Oct 17 - 10:39 PM

Brock Boeser picked up a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Ottawa Senators.

The rookie opened the scoring with a power play goal late in the first period before picking up the primary assist on Alexander Burmistrov's second period goal. Since being inserted into the lineup three games ago, all Boeser's done is produce offensively. The 20-year-old two goals and two assists in three games this season, and nine points in 12 games dating back to last season. He's an underrated fantasy option right now. He needs to be owned in deeper leagues and dynasty leagues.
Oct 17 - 10:20 PM

Evgeni Malkin scored the game-winning goal just under a minute into overtime as the Pittsburgh Penguins rallied to beat the New York Rangers 5-4 on Tuesday night.

Malkin also added three assists, including setting up the tying goal by Sidney Crosby with less than a minute to go in regulation. The Russian now has eight points in seven games. It was Malkin's second game-winning goal of the season already. He is coming off a 72-point season in which he missed 20 games, so it looks as though he will be very productive fantasy-wise this year.
Oct 17 - 10:19 PM

Claude Giroux scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Florida Panthers.

Don't look now, but after a down year last year, Giroux is off to a fantastic start in 2017-18. Giroux helped set up Sean Couturier's second-period goal that gave Philadelphia a 1-0 and he added one of his own on the power play later on in the frame. The Flyers captain finished the game with a plus-1 rating, two shots on goal and one hit in 16:41 of ice time. Giroux is now riding a four-game point streak. He's up to four goals and five assists in six games this season.
Oct 17 - 10:00 PM

Frederik Andersen turned aside all 30 shots he faced in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Washington Capitals.

Believe it or not, Andersen became the first Maple Leafs goalie in franchise history to record a shutout in Washington. It was also the first time in five games that he's allowed less than three goals in an outing. Andersen now has a 5-1-0 record with a 3.14 goals-against-average and a .899 save percentage this season. He'll continue to be a strong number one fantasy goaltender.
Oct 17 - 9:52 PM

Roman Josi (lower body) is expected to be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Colorado.

Josi has missed each of the last three games because of the injury. The Predators defenseman is paired with Mattias Ekholm in the pre-game warmup. He has no points and a minus-3 rating in two games this season.
Oct 17 - 7:42 PM

Peter Budaj will get the start against the New Jersey Devils Tuesday night.

The veteran backup will make his first start of the season for Tampa, as the Bolts play the second game of a back-to-back. Budaj was 3-1-0 in six games for the Bolts after being traded from Los Angeles last season. Considering how his battery mate, Andrei Vasilevskiy, has fared to this point, Budaj will get his starts every now and then to give him some rest.
